My 2021 Covid-19 Bosch 800 would fail that test. Bosch repair service says that my machine's cleaning issues are not unique. I will not buy another Bosch Dishwasher. My housekeeper thinks Miele cleans better. So, a Miele is high on my list as i plan my kitchen renovation.
Agreed. Our Bosch dishwasher has broken down so many times over the seven years since new. The front display is gone for good, the intake valve broke (I replaced it DIY), the start plastic button physically broke and fell inside. While replacing the button, I had to undo the displays and other electronics inside the door. The plastic that holds the displays and buttons in are so fragile that they crumbled upon touching. Now I have a piece of styrofoam propping the buttons. The dishwasher cleans dishes well, but because it is so unreliable I will not be looking at another Bosch.
So it really seems to come down to twice the average longevity with a Miele for 50-100% more then an equivalent Bosch. Over 15 to 20 years that is breakeven though an argument is made that the risk of ownership goes up after 7 to 10 years and thus is Miele worth that risk.
Is it worth the price? No. Will it last 20 years? No. Three and a half years for the one I got.Will it cost a fortune to fix? Yes. Buy anything except a miele.
Miele is pretty good...We have performed 100,000 service calls in less than 3 years and they are a standout. But, then you have issues as well. So I understand.
