The SEB236 is the best one. They do great on carpet performance, love how they sound. And the LED headlight is a big bonus.

I have the 228 and 236 and prefer the 236. The 228 has a rattle, it can’t get under furniture like the 236 can, and it doesn’t pull itself. The constant holding back of the 228, which pulls itself, causes the tendons in my shoulder to tense up. The 236 just “drives” better.

It would be really helpful to show the model numbers corresponding to the names, either in the title, the video, or - best of all - in the heading above the comment section. It's not easy to keep track of all the distinctions, nor is it easy to navigate to the relevant parts of the video.

I agree with you. In fact, I have to wonder if it even were possible for Miele to make it any MORE confusing. As for the video, I think the EBK360 is now the SEB228 Powerhead.

I was actually wondering what the differences were on these not too long ago. Thanks for the vid. I’ve always had a preference for the ebk360 but haven’t messed with that first one you showed. Those turbo brushes are cool just too damn noisy for me. I know they can’t really get rid of that though...

6:44 I would suggest the notches in the bristles are to allow enough airflow velocity to continue moving prisoners already locked in the system. For Cheerios a few snips to 45° out the notches does help. I've already added this mod to 14 teams equipment and they reported side shifting the floor piece back and forth if they hadn't felt the cereal already passing up through the handle. Just got a Miele C1 to test because it looked like a well thought out vacuum. Too bad they don't provide a powerhead 120v outlet on all models although it's not difficult to add. They already have enough powerheads, Sebo 350e and ET-1 plus a few Wessel Werks EBK360. I think I'll make a hose adapter to enable the use of Ghibli AS5 hoses. While the Miele C1 vacuum had a great price the addition cost of a hose, $240 everytime one needs replacing, and a powerhead at $460 was double what the cleaning company owners were used to. I talked them into trying the C1 so once they find out how quiet they remain while still providing more airflow... I hope the specs are accurate, they'll go for the powerhead package for the rest of their teams. Well done video, thanks.

Minus the LED headlight and foot-operated height adjustment, I'd have the SEBO ET-1 any day. Much more user serviceable. Broke the brush bar once hoovering a hard plastic cat toy once, bought a replacement off Amazon and I'm good to go again.

Here in Denmark, electrobrushes are almost unheard of. Same with upright vacuums. So your only option other than importing is a turbo head. My parents have a 1600w miele with a turbo head and on medium pile rugs, it's doing a surprisingly decent job, especially for pet hairs (they have a main coon which sheds all the time). It's waaaay better than just using the straight suction head.
@PerformanceReviews
@PerformanceReviews 5 лет назад
This is what I hear from about every place in Europe. I could live my whole life without an upright vacuum personally. I know for a while the British on couple models did have an SEB 236. I believe they get away with it when the EU made those new regulations. Thanks for watching!

Vacuum Wizard I'm looing to buy the 228 or the 236. Cost not being a factor which one would you say is the most reliable and works the best. Also easier to service. I don't care about the headlight. I just want it to work well and last. Thanks for great videos!

The SEB 228 AKA the EBK360 is the more reliable of the two and newer in design.

Wait a second. Miele makes an electric mini brush for their cordless vac, but they can't seem to make one for their canister machines? It's priced about right at $129. I would pay that, considering that their suction-based non-electric turbo brush is $75. That doesn't make any sense. Why would Miele do that?
@PerformanceReviews
@PerformanceReviews 3 года назад
If you use the turbo brush you'll see why they don't make an electric brush.

@@PerformanceReviews I have it. It's not like it's worthless. It would just be better if it were motorized. It's like comparing an AirTeq or even their TurboTeq floor heads to one of their Electrobrush heads. That brush for the HX1 is superior to the STB-101. That's just me though.

@dpugelj123 5 лет назад
Performance Reviews yes they are popular here in Europe, not so much in the US. The price is really high but quality is amazing (so I’ve been told), the only concern I have is that they use a cloth bag that works as a filer (only a premotor filter and no exhaust filter) so can’t even imagine what your particle counter would show (even tho they are allergy certified).

Can a Miele cleaning head (Miele parquet twister) fit on a Sebo wand? would it click like on a Miele wand and would you be able to park the head on the Sebo canister? I've seen some videos where people use a Miele vacuum with a Sebo cleaning head and I figured you will definitely know this :)

@@PerformanceReviews thats good to know. Can you tell me what is the hose length on Sebo and Miele canisters? For some reason I can't find that information anywhere on the internet. I have a Dyson big ball canister, worst purchase in my life. Such a overhyped and disappointing piece of cheap plastic. You can't control the suction, the noise level is unbearable, the hose length is a joke (I have to pick it up to vacuum any dust from my shelves and couch). Once I even opened it up, because the mechanism to rewind the cord broke. When you see the plastic parts inside you are amazed, I wouldn't put them in a kids toy let alone in a 300 dollar vacuum cleaner. At least I got the entry level one with a discount, but want to get rid of it as soon as possible because I think it's leaking dust around the wheels. Im almost certain it will be a Sebo e3 canister. I would consider a Miele C3 with a powerhead, but it's too heavy and big for our small apartment.

so far if u have ultra plush carpets oreck magnesium was ok, BUT mine broke down after 5 months after a choke/jam in the fan casing (which is open to debris) and thus far impossible to get warranty coverage simply due to the availability of shops that will do the work. I'm in a capital city and the closet shop is 4 hours away, next city over so .. keep that in mind

Useful info, thanks. Did Miele discontinue the SEB-217 (small powerhead with no height adjustment)? SEB-236 clean carpets nicely but replacing roller's apparently a royal pain - its belt drive's in brush path so multiple swipes are needed to get all the dirt up (not true for other Miele powerheads).

I use the SEB 236 on a medium pile carpet. I usually put the setting on 3 but Ive noticed the brushroll slows down to some degree. Is this normal? I also use a s7 tango which doesn't seem affected by the carpet. I feel like the s7 agitates the carpet better. The seb236 has very little use on it. What is your opinion on the best cleaning method? Thanks
@PerformanceReviews
@PerformanceReviews 5 лет назад
How's the Seb 236 ever been serviced a lot of times the Petro lube that use dries out by the time it gets to customers. I recommend servicing that thing 1 to 2 years. Some fresh lub might make it work better what happens when you use number 4 will it make contact with the carpet?

@@PerformanceReviewsThanks for your reply, I have tried various vacuums, it's not enough, I live in a sandy part of the world, there is very little dust but lots of sand, I have a fairly irregular slate floor so that after you vacuum sand remains in places so a little encouragement from a bristle brush should do the trick. or, do I find the most powerful vacuum on the market, using a 2500w Makita shop vac at the moment, not sucky enough.

Vacuum cleaners are not rated by the electricity they consume. That is very little to do with suction power. However if you need more suction power go to a built-in vacuum.
