Hey everyone hope this review and demonstration helps everyone who is about to buy a new machine make the right decision! While these machines are very expensive they are definitely worth buying imo especially now a days with all brands having a MASSIVE drop in quality. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can 👍🏻
My old miele didnt show me that it was good does your one clean of any stains? My one couldnt clean a small ketchup stain on a 2:31 synthetics 60 cycle with soak wich makes it hotter
@@lglover8699 you do realise this is my review of my experience with my machine right? I get you didn’t like yours in the end even though you went on about how great my new Miele would be when I revealed I purchased it. I’ve had no issues with mine removing stains heck I literally showed the machine cleaning stains off in the demonstration. I also done a 1:15 quickpowerwash 60 with twindos on and a towel that was covered in curry came out without a mark on it
@@vittopo786 I don’t stick to only using one detergent I use all brands particularly the likes of Ariel, daz etc and also use mieles own detergent now which is absolutely amazing. The Miele washes perfectly with detergents that perform well of course if the detergent is awful it won’t wash well. Beko have really REALLY good wash performance even on shorter cycles from my experience with them it’s beko’s quality of the current range of machines that’s the issue and it gets worse the higher the spec is for the machine which you wouldn’t expect when you pay £500 for a top of line model :(
This is a great video for new owners. Even after reading Miele’s vast manual there’s still loads of things I picked up from your video that aren’t covered.
Finally a video actually SHOWING how to use the machine using the display and using the phone. Thank you so much !!! Can you add "favourite programs" (programs you made yourself with certain extras) in the app ???
@@WimHulpia really appreciate your comment :) I could be wrong as I wouldn’t really use the app much but I don’t think you can add favourites to it unfortunately. However it does tell you your 5 recently used cycles which I think you can start straight away from the app and the machine itself also has a memory option in the settings menu I’m pretty sure. I can’t remember of the top of my head if it still has it as 1 or a few minor things where removed from the settings menu when it was updated but it was definitely there before the machine had its software updated a few months ago. If they still have it with that turned on the machine will remember what temperature and options you last used for each program on the machine so that could be handy if you tend to just stick to the one cycle or use different cycles for only 1 type of load :)
I have the same model, but the US version, I just have it a couple of weeks. I really like it. You did a great job explaining everything. I noticed that in my detergent cup, we have for powder and for liquid. There's a piece you remove when you wanna put in powder. Otherwise you leave it in if you use liquid detergent but I use the twin dose I find it works great.
Thank you very much for such a great video. I retire in three weeks time and I am seriously looking at Miele washing machines. We already have their heat pump dryer , fridge freezer, vacuum cleaner and oven. But we were very undecided on which one to get. After your review I have decided. Yep. This one. Once again many thanks. Colin.👍👍
Hi great demonstration, just for all you out there, we are just upgrading our old Miele washing machine, it needs repairs and we thought that we would rather put the money to a new Miele machine as the new models have larger capacities and more wash cycles. For reference our old machine is 33 years old, so I can absolutely say that the machine will last the 20 years, not only that when we contacted Miele they still had parts to repair the old machine. To me there is no better machine than Miele. Although the initial cost is more than a competitor, over the life of the machine that cost will be less, plus less breakdowns or other issues.
Really good walkthrough. One thing I think you may have missed is on the timer function there should also be an option to set the 'finish at' time in addition to the 'start in' time.
Thanks for the comment! The machine doesn’t have the ‘finish in’ feature on the machine itself you can only pick the time for it to start at or have it start within a period of time with the smartgrid function so it’ll start when it gets a signal that the electricity is cheaper. pretty sure the only ones that have finish in on the machine is m touch models now. You can select the finish in time on the app though I’m pretty sure!
You are correct about the conditioner caps. I made the mistake of buying 6 boxes of assorted fabric conditioner caps. I only used a few of them and within a couple of months the rest had become so thick and congealed that they were unusable. They were just sat on a shelf above the washer, not stored in a damp environment or anything. I rang Miele to complain and was told they have to be stored somewhere dark and cold or used within a few weeks. I will not be buying any more of them. They are overpriced for what they are anyway.
Exactly they’re such a waste of money and it’s awful how thick they go in such a short time. The Miele ultra soft softener is the exact same as the softener that’s in Mieles aqua caps and it’s much better. it doesn’t get thick at all and is such better value considering it has enough softener for 50 washes and a box of aqua caps only have enough for 9 WASHES! Plus it’s only a few pounds more
I've got a few machines so far, the new Siemens IQ700 series, which is very silent with the inverter pump, but the programs were not great at all. Also the built in drum light was useless. With some bedsheets, I noticed the frame warped while spinning (even though the machine was 83kg). Definitely much worse than Miele in terms of build quality, I sent it back. My parents have the W1 machine without PowerWash but with TwinDos, I really like the Miele's (especially the dishwashers are best in class). Which I ended up with was the Asko W2096 with Pro Wash (recirculation pump). The first thing I noticed was the pump, it's one of those AC ones with the chug-chug noises, quite loud compared to the Siemens, but comparable to an entry-level W1 machine. Overall the machine is quite loud. However, the washing performance shocked me compared to the Miele of my parents, the machine holds RPMs (1600 f.e.) for a crazy long time (over 8 minutes), it balances great and you can let it use a lot of water. Lots of programs too (23). The dryness and overall cleaning of the clothes was really amazing, I think mainly due to the old fashioned drum design with huge (and a lot of) holes. I've also started to add bleach water now to try to get that TwinDos stain cleaning haha
Do you think I should give this machine and buy the Siemens IQ700 series instead? I personally was not satisfied with this whitening. It turns whites into gray. It does not wash cleanly. or what do you recommend me after this machine?
Siemens is a good choice. I haven’t used a newer model myself but have heard a lot of good stuff on them. I have an AEG 8000 Series and really like it it premixes detergent and softener and has a lot of flexibility with its cycles. No other machine makes my clothes smell the way it does I really like it.
@@lglover8699 honestly to me the new ones are better than the shite they where producing just a few years ago time will tell though of course I’d take an Lg aidd over a Samsung though lol
I am not a particular fan of Miele when it comes to design, although it looks very well built. I've had a very bad experience with another "high-end" washing machine over the last few months - AEG 7000 Series Lavamat. A complete disaster and a total waste of money. It is squealing and squeaking during the entire cycle. One would say it's a 10 or even 15 years old washer. In fact it is 3 months old. So disappointed with AEG. I know Miele are quite expensive and not everyone could afford it. But to me it is one of the brands left, probably alongside Bosch's Serie 8 washers, with solid quality and long-term reliability. Everything else is a crap. Thank you for the good review!
Jeez that’s awful I was very close to getting a new generation AEG 8000 series with the pods dispenser and WiFi then decided on this Miele in the end as the aeg couldn’t be delivered to me due to how new it was at the time (still very few places have it in stock) think I potentially dodged a bullet and feel like the Miele suits my needs better. Miele and Bosch are the only brands I’d buy from now too the quality has dropped so rapidly on everything it’s crazy 🫣
I think I judged Miele a bit too harshly a couple months ago. While I would still choose a Numatic vacuum over Miele vacuums, Miele's other appliances are unbeatable. Perhaps if Miele makes the depth of their washers a little more slim, I will honestly consider getting one after my Bosch breaks.
Same I used to absolutely hate Miele with a passion and always thought their washers where badly programmed, glitchy and where awful quality despite being made to last 20 years. Now though it’s the complete opposite it really has shocked me so much and I’m so glad I went for this over the aeg I was originally planning on getting. I wish they made slimmer ones too I think Miele’s depth measurement includes the door too as this is 60cm front to back without including the door (at least according to the diagrams it is) wish they also had a few more budget friendly models that only costed £500 too 🥲
@@Washerboy2006 the Miele outlet usually sells the bol models on clearance for 399 and 499 usually. I also didn’t like Miele at all before I had one, now it’s my favourite machine I’ve ever had
@@sekoflex8127 please give me a chance mate you posted your comment last night and it’s only 9am where I am I’m not long up. Electrolux is more my thing but I haven’t used a new Siemens myself so it’s up to you.
Hey! You've probably seen what happened to @ibaisaic Miele washer and how it had to be replaced due to TwinDos related issue. Your machine is similar to his that's why I want to ask you to make a video how to maintain the TwinDos system. Thank you!
Maybe its useless that i say this but, however i love the twindose detegent, it will damage your machine. If you don't take off the back panel to clean the bottom every month it will cost you your bottom. Its because the ultra phase 2 is bleaching detergent that will eat the rubber round thats in the pipes of the twindos. I had this problem with my first machine, after a few months after buying i decide to open the backpanel just out of curiosity how its build inside and i was shocked by what i saw on the bottom, the bottom plate was rusty because of the u.p2... So since then i use just normal detergent and no leaking anymore :) its a pity cause u.p is extreme good detergent... My advice to you is to once and a while check the bottom@@Washerboy2006
How do I turn off the powerwash? It’s okay when washing in cold but when washing in warm water it’s so eco friendly I can’t stand it. It just sprays the clothes in an empty drum, often draining the water with the detergent in it out before the main wash phase even starts. Do you just enable water plus to avoid this? I used to enable water plus and it would turn it off. However my machine never recalculates the time like yours did to 1 hour and 11. My cycle times always take 2:39 on a cottons cycle with just cold selected. Are you able to help me tweak it? I do like on coke cottons it uses 75-90L versus cotton water plus using 126L a load so I don’t want to make it use too much water. However I do want it to automatically adjust the time for the smaller loads to speed up laundry days. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. I have the passion model with the touch screen. I think the next one up? I will say, my machine is terribly sensitive and always unbalancing. Rarely ever reaches 1600. Always reduced or aborts final spin leaving me with wet clothes. I’m on my third machine in 2 years with them breaking down. Would never own Miele again but if I can get it washing a bit faster it might make me feel a little bit less angry toward it haha. Thanks people 😊
Hi, thank you for this great video! I was wondering what happens if you have max rinse level turned on and you also select water + at the same time. In this case, does it only add water in the main wash? Or is the water + function not available when max rinse is turned on? Also, does it do powerwash if max rinse level is selected? I know powerwash is turned off if you select water +… And lastly, does turning off controlled energy consumption effect water levels?
So if I got a none twindos model would my money be well spent. And does power wash work on full load or only on medium or small loads? And how would I be able to turn off power wash 2.0
Yes it would be as long as you don’t have very low water pressure. While they have their cons like all machines I love mine. Mine is almost a year old and haven’t had any issues with twindos if it’s maintained regularly it would be fine. Powerwash 2.0 works mainly on small, medium loads however I believe it will attempt to use it with bigger loads. Powerwash itself works no matter the load size on all cycles. To turn off PW 2.0 you have to go into programming mode and turn off controlled energy consumption
Since it reduced the time to 1:11 anyway, would Quick have reduced it further? Great videos! Miele washer fan here but the US models don’t have Quick, Intensive, and the Consumption doesn’t work!
No unfortunately quick is 1:18 and is set at that so won’t adjust time on it at all :) I never use cottons quick on it as the rinses are WAY too short so much so it doesn’t fill up to proper level with my water pressure but cottons normal when it detects a half load is a much better cycle. It’s a shame the US ones have so many missing features that the European ones have 🥲
.Washerboy200 hello I bought the same machine but it washes the whites a little gray. Have you had a similar problem?. When the detergent dosage settings did not correct the problem, the service turned off the automatic smart water inlet. Have you done such a thing?
@@sekoflex8127 hey what would you wash your whites on? We wash our whites separately and on a hot 60°C wash with powder so they stay nice and white. Lower temperature washes and liquid detergent can cause them to go grey after some time but know Mieles twindos has a bleaching agent where as normal liquid wouldn’t have that and the bleaching agent helps keep them white. Automatic smart water inlet? I’ve been through the extensive programmable settings menu service technicians know about myself and turned off a setting called controlled energy consumption and that definitely makes it wash better as it deactivates a feature called powerwash 2.0 and makes it wash in a proper amount of water but there isn’t such a thing as automatic smart water inlet on them :) I think that powerwash 2.0 feature can cause the likes of that to happen though as it literally uses a tiny spit of water and pumps it onto the load every now and then to wash them.
@@Washerboy2006 Yes, I use it with Twindos and I am not happy because it does not wash whites cleanly. How can I enter the service menu and which setting can I change? How did you do it? The service turned off the automatic water level setting for me, after this setting it washed better but water consumption increased
@@sekoflex8127 hey sorry for taking so long to reply back just saw your new comment. Was gonna make a video on how to get into it and change the setting as get asked about it from a lot of others but haven’t had the chance yet. To get into the settings you turn the dial to cottons and with the door open press and hold the start button, then keep it held in and close the door. With it held in it’ll start to flash fast and you press it 5 times then hold it on the fifth press. Then when the light comes back on you let go and it’ll beep and enter the menu. Then scroll down to controlled energy consumption and press ok then change it from on to off, then it’s as simple as scrolling down to exit and pressing ok :)

No I never did they have a very unique design with the suspended drum (meaning shaky door) but the programming lets them down big time so much so I think I could cope with a vestel or another glitchy aquatech better than one wouldn’t mind trying one out but having one as daily driver omg that would be hell 🥲
@@Washerboy2006 Hm...they have the longest time for work-10000 hours, more than Miele ( on paper, at least....). Their " minimalist'' design is not my cupotea, though...😂
@@Washerboy2006 What's wrong with Asko's programming, got a 2023 model and operates great so far, maybe they updated the software? Programs are short, not too sensitive with the spinning, ramps up gently now as well with the spins.
@@deurkl I’m just not a fan of them tbh I can only go off videos from ones I’ve seen here on RU-vid (Particularly the £2000 1800rpm models) they limit the spin constantly and practically never do full speed (half the time they only do 1000rpm) the water levels are absolutely appalling as they do static fills with no top ups on rinses so run dry with absorbent loads resulting in bad rinsing. It’s just not what I expect for a brand that costs at least £1000 for a washer from them. I love the uniqueness of them with the steel seal and the design but the programmable just completely ruins it for me :(
@@lazy_lasagna3375 should see most of the other machines on todays market. The cycles are relatively short on this compared to most. The likes of the cottons cycle on most machines take 4 hours for a full load. It’s crazy though there quite a few shorter washes on it too :)
Hi it doesn’t have a childlock on it but does almost fully lock the screen when you start a wash so you can’t change anything at all once it starts running. The only thing a child can do is pause it and turn the machine off. If it’s paused it’ll start again itself after 10 minutes according to the manual and if its turned off it’ll just continue on with the cycle it was doing once it’s turned back on :)
@@marcse7en it's NOT scientifically correct to compare the Candy made 20-25 years ago to the Candy being made NOW. 20-30 years ago even cheap washers were good and reliable. Now it's a completely different story... In fact, all expensive brands now are not what they used to be decades ago. I've read complaints that new Mieles are not reliable anymore. I still remember and old, even ancient, shabby small washer of Smeg in a rented flat. No stain, even the oldest that last for 5-7 years didn't survive a single wash in that washer. I still dont know what kind of secret and mystery it was. The laundry 🧺 after washing became impeccable and no stain survived. But it was years ago...
WaterProof-System. It consists of a solenoid at the end of the intake hose and a float sensor at the bottom of the machine. When the float sensor activates due to a leak, it cuts out water coming into the machine with the solenoid in the intake hose. The float sensor can be activated by either an internal leak, or if the intake hose leaks, because the intake hose is two part, with a smaller hose inside a larger one. If the intake hose starts leaking, it will leak inside the bigger hose, and the water will flow inside the machine, triggering the float valve and cutting water flow and preventing a bigger leak.
Back when washing machines where made to last 🥲 I wouldn’t have another brand new Miele now this one started freezing up on me and doesn’t work properly with my lower water pressure (almost all other brands work fine with it only exception being Bosch/siemens) quite disappointing with how much money I splashed out on it ☹️ I have it in my shed now so still use it every now and then but much prefer the washer I have in the kitchen now
@@Washerboy2006 My new Hisense Inverter is doing nicely, apart from the terrible filter design, that looks like it was designed by an idiot! ... I've had a laundry disappointment today! I bought a Spin Dryer. It arrived with the motor shipping support smashed. It also has several manufacturing defects, scratches and a split in the drum rim. Several reviews said these dryers leak, and I saw a few drops of water inside the motor compartment! I've never seen a Spin Dryer since I was a kid on my mother's Twin Tub. I was surprised that there is no "inner tub" to contain the drum (as in a Washing Machine). The outer casing IS the inner tub! Also, no springs? The works suspension is three bits of rubber. There's a plastic mechanical linkage from the switch, running down beside the spinner to a switch in the motor compartment. An out of balance load could break it? It all seems very "shonky!" Like a factory second, too? The induction motor is nice though! I'll have to see what the seller says? Are all modern Spin Dryers shonky rubbish?
