MIG-19PT - God of the Vertical | War Thunder Aircraft Review 

Hi y’all, right after I uploaded this video, I played a match with the mig19 that was so much better, and was a perfect example of vertical dogfights, and I might make a second video on this plane again very soon lmao But up next: F8E ;)

Brilliant video. Generally, when I take this beast out, my competition, well, is kinda tough; mainly Mig21mfs and F8s. I'm not that good of a pilot to have fun with those odds lol.

if youre up aggainst multiple enemies id not advise to go straight vertical. in fact i wouldnt go full vertical anytime as people notice the bait and often just dive out before its too late. it also makes it really easy to kill the mig 19. pulling them up in a corcscrew fucks them up bigtime without you losing any speed at all until you CHOOSE to when making the screw really really tight as they drop their noses or stop climbing ( when going for a gun run ). you can keep the illusion of them "catching up to you". going up in a corcscrew while beeing gentle to the controls will allow you to keep like 1000kmh IAS ez while literally anything but maybe a f8 crusader is going to fall out of the air after maybe 2 turns. most fighters at the br range of the mig19s/pt suck balls in terms of retention. they all pull high aoa at least almost all of them. if you just go up like you did they have an extremely easy shot and its even possible that some aircraft WILL touch you in the vertical if you simply pull up or in a normal loop instead of taking retention to the limit. the corcscrew eliminates this entirely as theres is not a single aircraft in the game that can come close once you hit 10-15mins of fuel and even before that its a good way to disengage or keep someone busy. this way you keep all your speed dont get to be a target and you can fight multiple people at once. just get them into the dogfight sphere where you can control them and scince youre always fast enough to dodge anytime they wont be able to touch you with missiles nor anything else. the only downside to this is you need a lot of situational awareness and hope for enemies not leaving the sphere but that generally only happens if you bait them for minutes and they get bored lol. just giving this as a hint scince i didnt find the agressive playstyle in the vertical working well in any case at least for me

This thing is still the second best dogfighter of the game, behind the Tomcat. It was still in real life, as it would outclass the f-5E in a rate fight.

Really? I remember being able to go into a vertical flat scissors with one in my T-2 and came out on top. Ig the issue was with it going one-circle in the vertical than anything else

I don’t mind dog fighting anyone in this it’s the mussels the 18 g mussels are a pain

can somebody tell me how possible it is to dodge 10.3-10.7(R 60, Magics 1) missiles with Mig 19? cuz it is the only thing that's keeping me from playing this and any other non flares supersonics

The BR Compression ruined one of my favorite aircraft. The MiG-19 has been such a blast to fly but dodging Aim-9Ls or whatever unholy missile is flung at me is next to impossible, especially at high speeds when the plane freezes up. The IR missiles are the worst in the game and hitting something is a rare shot. I'm sure it's a skill issue or whatever but I just can't fly the thing to save my life.

Mig 19 sucks major donger. Nobody dogfights in this br anymore they just fling missiles from 5km out. Good luck against all the A10 and harriers and A6 farming you for some easy GE.
