wow the passenger side looks great compared to the drivers side.

It’s not horrible but still needs some work. Can’t wait to start ripping into it more.

Crazy how one side goes away and the other is in better shape. My 66 c10 is trashed on the pass side, but the drivers side is good.

Great choice on the cab. That was the one i would have picked to rebuild. One thing you will learn when starting out welding is that what it loooks like doesnt really count as much if it is your item you are welding. As long as it has great penetration, then thats all that matters. You can always profect it later on. I remember when i first started running beads and they looked like garbage. I would have sanded it all down first and primmed it first to get rid of all the rust and expose everything. Then it would have been just a easy sand where you were going to weld. Either way i can wait for the next video. Keep up the Great Work and Great Content.

Thank you we really appreciate it. We definitely have our work cut out for us but we have a friend coming this week to help us so hopefully we can start doing the floor.

My cab is pretty rusted, as well, and I don't have any welding experience. Watching you go about building your truck helps alleviate some of the intimidation factor. Did you name it, yet?
@RESTORATIONRESCUE

No we haven’t come up with a name yet. We are still intimidated about the welding but I think we got this.

Keep up the good work. Welds will get better with practice, and all the floor will be covered with carpet. It's a great place to learn.

Oh yeah we are excited to get there. And we are better than a week ago and hope to just keep getting better

Blast the Cab first, then do the metalwork. And please wear welding appropriate clothing when welding.

We are about to blast the can now. Hopefully this weekend!

My floor is that bad. At the advice of a professional I bought the entire floor assembly. It comes with all the cab supports etc. should look new from underneath when done.

We still have some good spots so we are trying to save as much as we can. Plus for us we are just trying to learn every step and learning to weld is fun

Oh my. I am curious how this cab lined up when it was all done? You have no reference marks, no structural supports, no measurements for openings etc.

We haven’t made it that far just yet. We are just starting to rip the drivers floors out. But with using the bolt holes from the rockers I think we should be pretty close to where they should be. But we will all see

@@RESTORATIONRESCUE . You are going to be screwed. I would stop now and get that thing on a solid level surface. I didn't take mine off the truck until I got the structural welding completed. As it was my cab moved all around and I needed to push and pull as I welded pieces back in. Thankfully I had measurements to work from or else my doors would have never gone back on.

@@markekberg8371 we have been measuring off stuff for the future videos. We used the prior rockers in this to measure. We also measured the cab mounts and they are spot on in comparison to the frame.
