The one thing holding back Minotaurs is the lack of GM Armsmaster. They are already at a disadvantage since they can't wear helmets and boots and their overall skill-ceiling is lacking. With GM Armsmaster, they would occupy a sweet spot between the tankiness of a Troll and the damage of a Knight. This even turns axes into viable weapons (preferable two-handed ones),. .... but maybe GM armsmaster is just an absurd skill that's way too strong.
Dark elf with high bow skill and bow of darkness will easily outdamage any other class, while being almost invinsible due to extremely fast life drain. Sure, it is in late game only, but still...
When I first played MM8, I thought dragons were so cool because they just destroyed everything always. But reflecting today, they’re the worst designed class in the game imo. They’re so OP and imbalanced, the game fundamentally lacks challenge. My last 2 100% playthroughs have been dragonless and it’s made me 10x better at the game
I'm not sure about MM6 and MM7, but in MM8, your starting character is the "tank", he stands in front in the party, so if anything comes at you, the starting character will take full blast of it. That's why I like Troll, Necromancers dish out the second-best damage, but they are really weak at the start of the game. the only Dark Elf I use is Cauri Blackthorne, I mean, she starts with master and grandmaster everything so I usually rock my starting character, 3 dragons and Cauri Blackthrone through the whole game. I should try a playthrough without using any dragons whatsoever, not even gonna recruit them, it will probably end up being full of knights, clerics and necromancers instead.
Such a shame that vampires turned out that way. I've played it couple of times, and failed to find anything valuable besides aesthetics. They could have been made monks like in Bg2 ) Idk if dragons are that OP in late game, necro, elf and knight outperform them in dps by a large margin.
Doesn't really matter as dragons can attack hits ranged or close and doesn't miss and requires alot less setup. The flexibility of their attacks still make them the best.
Can't fully agree. Vampires are like Paladins but with an extra spin. They are great secondary healers and got good spells to set them apart. To be fair, they are more of a "quality of life" class. But in a game that is too easy anyway, it's not such a bad thing.
