This came out 12/25/1998 I remember watching this in Daycare all in front of the TV😂I was so obsessed with Joe and that PeterBilt 359 truck! Still a classic film to this day!

using practical effects makes Joe looks way more realistic than CGI King Kong

Both 2005 Kong and especially 2021 Kong are much bigger than Mighty Joe. It would be extremely impractical to do with how much both versions move.

@@tonk3878 I'm not talking about movement. I'm talking about which one looks more lifelike.They still look CGI.Nothing can top practical effects,unless it's equally well done cg(like Maurice in Planet of The Apes)

@@rishav-2749 I don’t understand, why wouldn’t movement matter? It would heavily impact the movie. Practical pieces are very limited in that regard, so making a massive piece for still/slow shot seems excessive and impractical. I think 2005 did very well, Kong was very emotive both with his body and face (the close ups were cool).

Made $50 million against an $80 million budget. Godzilla 1998's response actually caused Disney to lose confidence... this movies marketing campaign was awful. It's not a great movie, but Rick Bakers effects were top notch.
