The title of this video is a bit misleading. I came here expecting to watch one thing and discovered it was something different. This looks to be the retrospective "behind the scenes" special bonus feature stuff that Shout! Factory filmed exclusively for their Blu-ray release of MMPR: The Movie. The actual MMPR: The Movie - Secrets Revealed was a "behind the scenes" TV special that was filmed concurrently with the filming of MMPR: The Movie and aired on TV in 1995 alongside the MMPR Trouble music video by Shampoo to promote the theatrical release of MMPR: The Movie. Both the Shout! Blu-ray bonus stuff in the video above and the Secrets Revealed TV special are similar in that they give a "behind the scene" look into the creation of MMPR: The Movie, but they aren't the same thing.
i loved this movie as a kid. and yeah as i got older i kinda noticed stuff like. the suits being different and these random weapons they didnt have in the show. and yeah a lot of it seems cheesy now as an adult but i still have some nostalgia for it and can enjoy it for what it was.
Even though the cgi has aged terribly and the dialogue is really cheesy with all the puns when you hear it as an adult I still have so much love for this movie, it is still so nostalgic I can’t ever get enough of it
it's so sad how the original Yellow Ranger, Black Ranger and Red Ranger NEVER got to experience this! Rest in Peace to Thuy Trang, the original Yellow Ranger.
I was heartbroken when I first saw this at 4 years old because I was expecting to see Jason, Zack, and Trini and didn't understand why they had been replaced.
@@patrickwilson1459 I'm well aware of that now but I had no idea why they weren't there when I first saw the movie at 4 years old and it really bothered me at that age since I was huge fan of both Jason and Zack.
@@cMind607 good to know that there are younger generations that love Power Rangers still i hope the new reboot of the newer movie will bring back those memories and feelings
@Spike16 god damn thats just sad and shown how weak he is unlike his superhero conterpart RIP Tommy! He is weak like my friend who killed himself in Afghanistan just because his wife cheated on him while hes away serving his country. Also RIP sergeant Mckenna one of my comrade :(
I swear, Paul Freeman went straight method playing Ivan Ooze. Like he *became* that role, absolutely sank himself into it and you can tell he had a blast as well! EDIT: Jason Narvy AKA Skull seems like a seriously chill, great guy
It's funny how Skull is this dimwitted kid in the show, but the actor who portrayed him, Jason Narvy, is the complete opposite - super thoughtful and intelligent! Hell, he has a PhD now!
That "I'm a frog." scene has stuck with me since I was a little kid first watching this movie. Even as a kid I knew that even though you might not be the coolest, strongest, fastest, or whatever that you could still make a difference. I still think about that scene today and I'm 32 now. So glad it made it in.
I LOVED this movie when I was a kid. I still remember all of the marketing for this movie and wanting everything MMPR The Movie merchandises on top of loving the series lol. Summer 1995 was AWESOME. Pocahontas, Batman Forever and MMPR. It was great being a kid in the 90s.
Same here Lol 😂!!! I remember as a kid wanting to go to McDonald’s and get a Chicken Nugget happy meal just so I could collect all the merchandise from the movies Batman Forever and of course my favorite MMPR!! Those were the days Lol 😂!!! Kids these days have no idea!!
Vão ficar Galaxia buscar power Rangers agora sim feliz com pessoas Golob Facebook colégio 1 ano feliz com pessoas vcs power Rangers ficar juntos eu prometo prometa já vai pugrando power Rangers sim Rapaz que todo mundo família power Rangers desfeito trazer voltar amanhã noite por sol amacher power Rangers amanhã noite
I love the frog line, it was super relatable to kids. All these awesome animals, and he gets a frog. What kid wouldn't be disappointed in getting the frog. I think that was excellent vision on his part in making the movie seem more real for it's target audience.
in western frog looks bad/low but in Ninja lore in Japan, frog and Ninja related a lot, real ninja use frog skin and dried oil and burn it for their ninjutsu/genjutsu, it can make halucinogen
The hype leading up to the release of this movie was unreal in 95. Not only did McDonald's have the toys, but fox aired a behind the scenes show that was like 30 mins or an hour showing the making, and interviewing the rangers during primetime hours. I remember being in school and we went to the library every week to watch some educational program, and all of a sudden they started airing trailers for the power rangers movie during our TV time. We were all going crazy on the playground reenacting the moves lmao.
Cant believe this was 94' I remember watching power rangers Saturday morning, Garfield or muppet babies, I want to cry, childhood is so precious and sweet, Born in 90' everything after 2001 is different
One thing still bugs me to this day though, their morph sequence is off. But I will say this, I’m in my 30s now and the og power rangers are still my favorite childhood memories. I get chills hearing the theme and the “ITS MORPHIN TIME”
Vilão Lord lizz lua universo comprar power Rangers Golob covite eu Quero Trabalho power Rangers fico vcs power Rangers agora vilões mal proteger entrar chamado power Rangers Gabriel Alves christ música power Rangers sady jonior amigo Sabia sou eu compru de priceso apha tommy power Ranger lembro de onde nos conhecemos power Rangers agora sair casa vou vós power Rangers tábom viajar ok cutir universo
It's my ringtone and my text notifications tone lol. The ringtone is the opening song and the notifications is the yellow rangers morphing yell(my daughter's choice but still cool).
yep.. some of the best power rangers source materials, super sentai were (in my opinion) jetman to maji ranger (mystic force)... there was a ranger series uses a train theme but it wasnt adapted for western audience for a certain reason lol
Growing up it was so cool to find out that David Yost is gay. Growing up as a gay kid myself, hearing how a power ranger actor was gay too made me feel like it wasn't that big a deal. The only bad part of Power Rangers was the producers/crew itself. Drove Billy away with homophobia, drove Trini, Zack and Jason away with poor payment.
40:45 It is a real shame that Steve Cardenas never went on to have a entertainment career like Jean Claude Van Damme had. Cardenas certainly had the skill, talent, and chops to be a very big martial arts action film star, and could've gone on to do multitudes of action fighting movies.
Absolutely LOVED this movie. I Literally stopped watching this video to put the movie just because watching this video brought back so many good vibes. I still can recite it word for word and I’m 31 lol. Remember the McDonald’s collection? Great times for real!
Id say all of Paul Freeman's lines are so memorable. I love Ivan ooze best villian by far. 'If your perants try to stop you. JUST THROW IT IN THERE FACES"
The interviews with Paul Freeman is the best part. Dude looks like he was having a blast and making the most of the difficult parts such as the long hours in makeup
I remember as a kid bugging my parents on a saturday morning to watch the series and when the film came out i lost it and had to see it and now im a parent i can watch it now and even my kids love it
i still remember being a little kid and seeing a commercial for it and I remember seeing the very first episode when it aired for the very first time. And then everyone at school was talking about it and that's all we ever did during recess. Just played power rangers pretending to fight monsters and stuff. Those were the good ole days. My love of the power rangers evolved into me watching a ton of old kung fu movies to this day simply because of the martial arts.
Loved this so much growing up. My love for Kimberly fueled my future love for Buffy. I think it's really cool that the stunt double for Kimberly (Sophia Crawford) was also the stunt person for Buffy Season 1-4. Her and her husband Jeff Pruitt really made these shows and movies extra special. Mad props. I miss the 90's for sure.
So if you folks got the rare 25th Anniversary Steel Book set of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers it came with a rare blu ray version of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie for the first time at 1080p. In the movie there was some never before scenes put into the movie which was awesome
This will forever be my favorite movie even now as an adult lol Power Rangers was my whole childhood. I remember as a kid being so excited about this movie coming out the original Power Rangers will forever be my favorite man I miss being a kid sometimes RIP to Jason David Frank AKA Tommy we will miss you 😔❤️ #PowerRangers ❤️
I miss these days getting up early before school and coming home and catching the repeat on sky one at 4. I loved power rangers as a child. I recently rewatched the first series on netflix and if they had more seasons I would definitely watch those too. I loved this movie I remember getting in on video and I was the happiest I had ever been 😊. I'll never forget it. I could act it off by heart because I seen it so many times. Brought back so many memories. Times really have changed I'd be happy to go back to these days.
I read once that Catherine Sutherland auditioned for the role of Dulcia, but she was deemed too young for the roll. She got her power rangers roll the next season as Kat, so she must have impressed them.
@@Hyperion520 Actually Mariska Hargitay almost had the role of Dulcet because Gabrielle Fitzpatrick got injured on set, but when she recovered, they let go of Mariska.
I wish he would have done the Latest power rangers film. Honestly this guy pushed the boundaries, everything came to life and really took an already amazing show to an even higher ground.
Positives i loved about this film… solid comedy.. choreography…. Lord Zedd’s appearence.. loved how it actually looked like a metal outfit.. morphing sequence is still the part that stands out to me
I was a huge Power Rangers fan growing up in the 90’s. Still watch the original series often. I think my only disappointment was that the never really were the power rangers. Never understood why they needs doubles in the suits for them. Nonetheless RIP JDF. Forever the best Ranger
@@MisterX867 Its a license rights thing due to 20th Century footing most of the bill to film the movie. Characters created specific to the movie were owned by 20th Century (now Disney) while the TV show/franchise were owned by Saban (now Hasbro). Tengas were somehow allowed to skirt this issue slightly as Saban purchased the costumes to later use in the show and had their names altered (from Tengu to Tenga) along with their origin (forming from Ivan's snot loogie to hatching from giant bird eggs).
I would pay to see those movies. I would love to see a Power Rangers movie done right. And I must admit, I'd love to be part of it in some capacity too.
@@sagelink2 Shattered grid is too dark to start off with, I'd start with Mighty Morphin. I know it's already been done but it hasn't found its footing on what it wants to be or how it wants to make you feel. The film needs to have an overall positive tone, a light hearted story about loss and triumph, but with the looming presence of evil on the horizon. This would allow the audience to have fun with these characters and care about them once the story starts to take a dark turn.
I really liked the rangers costume designs for the movie. I know Tommy's green ranger powers were destroyed but it would've been neat to see the green ranger suit done the same way. I wished they sound editors kept the swinging, whooshing sounds as the series had. It's just unique.
When I was a kid watching this movie in a cinema with my mom was everything. Seeing your favorite TV show in a movie with new suits was totally unforgettable. I remember im trying to catch every short TV spot commercial when they still promoting the movie. Men goodtimes.
I remember when I was a kid my favorite ranger is the black ranger Zack but when Adam came, he is freaking handsome for me. This series was big hit in the Philippines way back a couple of years ago.
the helmets in this movie looked so great. Ill always remember how shiny they looked. Everyone did great work. This video provides some great insight to how hard it was in the 90s. I hope everyone involved the best. #blueranger4Lyfe Also its so awesome to see Ivan Ooze behind the scenes. He was a gem.
Everything about this movie for the time was great. All the work everyone put it was appreciated. Love to hear the backstories. But damn Ivan was a great villain.
@@tawdryhepburn4686 right? You’d think they would but this movie was suppose to exist outside of tv show. In the show they got their ninja powers in a similar way but from Ninjor instead
@@tawdryhepburn4686 they did, but there’s just the issue on the show they got their powers in a different way so there’s no way they could believably explain that.
I wish they would have had a training sequence in this movie after they got the new powers. I feel like there were a lot of badass moments left on the cutting room floor.
You can tell the director didn't get the point of not seeing the ranger's faces. I didn't want to see a face, I wanted to imagine myself as my favorite ranger.
The armored suits should've been a Power-Ups w/ the actors & stunt doubles working in the regular spandex suits and regular helmets from the TV series.
I love this movie, I probably dressed up as the Blue Ninja 3 straight years for Halloween. I still am so upset that the remake didn't do too well in theater. I was really hoping power rangers could go on like a 5 movie run with new the new cast and villians.
Don't care what anybody says as a negative: this movie was fantastic and fell in line with how MMPR's run went. They even got most of the characterizations down.
Loved this movie, I had always wanted to see the cast and the costumes. The special effects were really great and the scenery was really great, they pulled it off really good. I loved the makeup and the costumes. The lady that played Rita's wasn't as good as the original but whoever Lord Zedd was the same actor The movie stars have great talent and voices
I’ve always wanted to see what the green Ranger would’ve looked like. Instead of just the white Ranger in the movie. Someone should have added a green Ranger with 7 rangers just been added just for the movie since they didn’t use the footage from the Japanese footages. Someone like Jason as the green Ranger, a new ranger named Francis, or Barry, or Peter or David, or Matt. Where the Green Ranger would have stayed on earth to keep an eye on Angel Grove while the others went to get the great power.
I was 3 when the movie came out. Parents bought the tape for my brother and me. The frog scene bummed me out since Adam was my favorite and everyone else got cool animals. Mom loved the frog scene since Adam got words of encouragement and even a kiss. It wasn't until my dad rented Hong Kong cinema from blockbuster and I saw what the toad style can do I started to believe frogs were amazing.
Up to now I still love Power Rangers I’ve watched the show over and over and off course I loved the movie. I’m still surprised I never broke any of my bones imitating their movements jumping from the kitchen table or the bed pretending to be one of them.
