On one hand, i kinda hoped Tommy stayed dead. That felt like the point in this Universe, however. It makes sense why Tommy isnt dead, we knew at that point Rita was evil but wasnt a monster. It makes sense she trapped Tommy in a field similar to Zordon after saving her daughter. Also the Zyuranger cameo is a treat

Tommy just can't die, he's the Optimus Prime of Power Rangers. The thing people overlook is the fact he's still in his prime being in suspended animation like Steve Rogers was prior to hm being found in the preset day.

Amy Jo Johnson and her team has definitely done a fantastic job on this alternate universe version of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and has definitely left us with a sequel bait because of the turn of events that has happened with Rita's daughter Selena who has become a corrupt version of the yellow ranger, (and what is was very fascinating about this is that not only does Selena have her father Lord Zedd's Powers along with Rita's Powers but it is also Amplified due to the yellow saber tooth tiger power coin) and also the mysterious female White Tiger Thunder Ranger shows up at the remains of the command center as to who she is we don't know but it seems like she knows about Zordon.

I missjudged this Rita. Last time I thought she didnt care about her daugther and ran but oh boy was I wrong! She saved Tommy and not just herself! Damn this issue was amazing! Selenas yellow rangers design is sick! She even has Zeds mouthpiece and red visor in her helmet which is a great detail. Now then...who is this female white ranger and how did she get there? Because it seems she came from another timeline where Zordon is still alive. More importantly this will get a continuation which Im REALLY excited about!

Well if u all ask ME... I think the morphing grid redeemed Rita.. hence giving her the White tiger power coin and her body back and tasked her to find Zordon

Interesting. This would've made for a neat set up, but I think this should've led into a new gen of Rangers taking over with the now time-displaced Tommy becoming both the leader and the mentor for them. Could've also easily used teh Dairanger suits now that this is set on a completely different time-line with a completely open future, but alas. This has a lot of potential if done right either way.

Yellow Power Morpher: Has a mind of it's own and doesn't let Minh morph. Also Yellow Power Morpher: Ya, it's ok to let the villain morph. I know they probably didn't know that was going to be a thing while writing this but it's still funny to think about. Can probably just head canon it to say Rita infected the Grid or something allowing Selena to morph. Or the rebuilt power coins are the versions with the limitation on morphing and not the originals.

No martial art training because her mother forbid it hoping to keep her daughter from traveling the same path as her parents. The Yellow Ranger reminds me closer to Dino Fury super forms than anything else. The only thing I see Zedd style is the eyes and mouth plates. I can see the OG rangers, except Tommy and initially Jason, passing the other coins to others who can do more full-time Ranger stuff.

I did not expect to see Tommy alive again because of what Ranger Slayer said all those years ago that this green ranger never survives. But on second thoought I am fine with it since it makes sort of sense as well. In main comic and TV series he ultimately looses the powers and The Return one is in similar situation to Tommy from Shattered Grid (they both ended up trapped in the Morphin Grid instead of true death). Even Drakkon is not an exception anymore since he died as a green ranger.

Ok so after thinks this over and if we do get a sequel for this my female white ranger predictions are: 1) Kim from a timeline where she became the white ranger [so either Aisha became the pink ranger or Tommy never showed up and someone else became the pink ranger] 2) A version of Olivia who never lost Tommy and she became the white ranger. Since the machine Selena used required the person in it to be linked to the person trapped in the Grid, I’d say that when Olivia stepped in a lot of displaced rangers from different universes who are related to either Tommy or Kim would come into “The Return” universe.

Do you hate Tommy that much? Amy Jo loved Jason that what she didn't shock me at all. She won't let ASJ aka Jason Geiger fully take over.

Okay after this I'm hoping Boom Studios let Amy and her team do a sequel! I know fans were split on this when the one shot came out as part of the anniversary anthology but this turned out great in my opinion and again I hope we get more from this universe!

I just got the last issue for MMPR The Return, and it was Outstanding Amy Jo Johnson and Matt Hotson nailed this issue and this saga out of the park So many great surprises and that shocking cliffhanger , now i really need a Sequel for MMPR The Return I need it so bad now but overall this story that Amy and Matt did and wrote was Great 😊 MMPR The Return Sequel please 💚💛💖🤍😊🔥🎉

I grew up watching the show during its original run. Never read any of thr MMPR comics. Only reason I picked this up was because Amy Jo Johnson was co-writing and it was a miniseries. But man was this good.

What do you think about either Dulcea or Dimitria being the White Ranger? They both know who Zordon is. I don't think it's Rita and I hope it's not an alternate version of a character we know.

Im a huge Jason fan. But Im cool with this passing of the torch. It makes a lot of sense and feels more natural than the way the show did it. And being a badass second in command makes it feel more like the 6th ranger and the leader just swapped places, and not a demotion. Kind of like what happens in Zeo in the original timeline. The ending. Clearly a bodyswapped Drakkon /s

@@Deoxy360 You are probably right, but that "lost my way of Zordon's teachings" speech bubble easily could be read into as being a subtle "behind the scenes" jab from AJJ to ASJ and it wouldn't be too far of stretch to believe given all the recent coincidental ASJ shenanigans of recent years and the fact that AJJ already has called him out on it in a more direct manner.
