THE AMERICAN MIGRAINE FOUNDATION HAVE STUDIED MIGRAINE MEDICATIONS & HAVE CHANGED THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MIGRAINE TREATMENT BASED ON THESE NEW FINDINGS.
Aura migraineur since 2005, this is what i do. First stage, recognize aura, treat nausea with fluids/powerade, wear sunglasses, and ear plugs. Avoid driving into sun and face mask in public. Once it starts, plan on restricting as much stress as possible. At work, close door wear ear plugs or classical music w/ear buds, and yes, ill wear eye patch or sunglasses, and keep pickles for snacks. 2 Tylenol + 1 aspirin + 1 coffee or coca cola. In 2 hours, no relief? 2 ibuprofen. 2 hours no relief, sumatriptan 25mg. 2 hours no relief, sumatriptan 50 mg + ondestron 4 mg. If it hasn't subsided, i go to urgent care after work to get Toradol and dr note. It will knock your ass out. You may still be motion sick next day, have some pressure on that side, and aura keeps going, but the pain subsides. I have noticed migraines correlate to my hypoglycemia, the one today started with a 46 BSL from overnight. I hope this helps, it took years to figure out how to handle it and work regular job. Usually, that 2 nd dose of sumatriptan and going to sleep right after work was max.
You mean some doctors are just randomly prescribing a bunch of drugs that don't work? I am so surprised. Gupta here couldn't find his notes apparently which is why he essentially said nothing. All he did was name three random drugs and not say why you would take any of them specifically. Great work CNN.
I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else is searching for best way to cure a headache try Elumpa Migraine Remedy Alchemist (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my brother in law got excellent results with it.
This Doctor Gupta gets on my last nerve. He talks in circles. Take Relpax it's amazing. Make sure you have prescription coverage because it's expensive. Also you may be lacking Magnesium. Pump up on green leafy veggies, nuts and seeds.
Bullshit just go to a chiropractor and see if that doesn't help you. I guarantee you 60% of all migraines is because some nerves are being pressured or blocked. Nobody wants to talk about this because medication is more beneficial for the economy. Money, money,money... Don't take any drugs. Get your spine checked and save yourself money on the way
I get 1-2 a week. Got them real bad. Been seeing a neurologist and shes been treating them. Over the counter stuff sucks. Especially when you have the aura and the vomiting
Trying 8 mg Cyproheptadine for high barometric sinus migraine. ENT prescribed 4 mg. 3x's/day. I've tried the 4mg. several times & no results. I tried 600mg ibuprofen an hour before.
I legit haven’t ever not had a headache. They don’t know why so blame it on eyestrain. I was three years old before they realized, I started holding my head because I wasn’t really verbal look at point, and they’ve happened ever cents. They’ve tried multiple kinds of medication‘s and they just kind of become a part of wife. So now, if I say my head is hurting really bad, they know it’s pretty bad for me to voice it. Migraines are horrible. I get those about one week a month and on the whole Pam scale, normal headaches are about a five out of 10, migraines to me, or about an eight out of 10 they suck. Of course I have epilepsy too so I’m not sure either are related but still it’s annoying, I actually found this because I was trying to look up the name of a migraine medication that I can’t remember. Oh I remember it is containing two things that are also in Excedrine. Which does not work by the way
I have constant headache too. I am trying Nortriptyline 10mg and it seems to work for me. I hope you find relief. I understand what your going through. You are doing something about it and don't give up.
I had migraine every 6 months for about 4 years. Doctors told my parents just to give me aspire and sleep it off. Fucking horrible advice. My fathers best friend is a chiropractor and he told my parents to bring me in for some treatments. I would go every week and leave his office with the worst headache ever but they did not turn into migraines. The doc told me that was normal reaction and not to worry. He was absolutely right about it. After 6 weeks he told me to come back every other 3 months and I did. Since then I never have migraine. The headaches after the sessions stopped and that was the sign the problem with the migraine was over. My migraine was caused due to nerves in the spine being blocked or pressured. I hear many have these problems so my advice is GO SEE A CHIROPRACTOR!
Me to 365 days 24/7 hours a day it never goes away I do have a small brain tumour called a meningioma though life is hell I don't even want to live I've tried amatriptaline topiramate and all types of medication but they just make it even worse and give me chest pains
If you are looking for a prophylactic there are several options: calcium channel blockers (such as Verapamil), beta blockers (such as Propranolol) and antidepressants (the ones that are used to treat migraines are Amitriptyline and Venlafaxine). You should see a neurologist and talk to them about it, I'm sure they can give you a better advice than random people on the Internet can.
A medication called fioricet or fiorinal works great, but be a little careful because it has butalbital in them and that's a barbiturate which can be a little addictive...
I get migraines everyday from a car wreck some guy hit me in the rear end severe migraines cousin to get so bad I got to emergency room and my blood pressure is so sky-high they think I'm going to die
Omgosh I can’t even imagine to go through anything like that everyday I had one and I felt like was dying the pain , flashes , and Throwing up nonstop the was horrible it lasted a few hrs 😭May God help you
Gail West hi Gail. Triptans are medications like relpax or immitrex both work incredibly well for migraines. This doctor didn’t do his job in answering anything. These meds I just mentioned come in multiple forms such as oral pill or nasal spray or injection. You get them prescribed by your doctor. Most likely your neurologist. I’ve been suffering horribly since 2002 so tried many migraine drugs. I do Botox as well. Hope this helps!
hi everyone ,if anyone else is searching for cure for migraines try Elumpa Migraine Remedy Alchemist ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my colleague got cool success with it.
Its mad in america how much people talk over each other. A nation of people not listening to each other, just itching for their turn to talk. I dont think the guy they had on finished a sentence without someone talking over him. The guy who hosts it, seemed like your average no nothing who thinks he knows everything.
**Please pin this for the benefit of all my fellow migraine sufferers. ** I have suffered like you all my life and have extremely bad episodes. Medicines stop working after a while but the only thing that works is this:- -Take Carom Seeds/Ajwain(India) , cotton handkerchief & hair tie -Roast a handful of the seeds on a pan till they start to change their colour and start to give out strong fumes. -Put all the seeds on the handkerchief and tie like a small round bulb - Inhale the fumes with eyes closed.Take long deep breaths alternating between both nostrils. This will hurt like hell at the back of your head but will ease out you migraine in 10 mins.
