I hate how people try to compare Miguel and Frank Ocean. like seriously! these are two completely different artist people! Get over it! They both make GREAT music!
ddoctriness It would be ridiculous for an artist to say another contemporary artist is better than him. So probably, the interviewer was manipulating. You would not hear Beyonce say someone is better than her. Or anyone else. You have to be the best in your eyes, to have that belief in yourself. Otherwise it will be hard to last in that business.
Johanexo The genres are different, and they stand for completely different things. If you are in a certain mood, you go to listen to on or the other, they are not similar to be interchangeable.
@@ddoctriness and? if you were an artist would you say that some other artist is better than you that’s not even like micheal jackson or anything? i know i would.
I've never heard Miguel speak but I really like the way he carries himself. I feel like the message of happiness and freedom is not dissimilar to everything Kanye is saying. It's interesting how two different people can say very similar things and preach similar ideas and be taken so differently because the way the say it. Miguel would be looked up to by the average person, he's controlled and calm. Kanye not so much unfortunately.
I love his introspective and thoughtful approach to being authentic in all that he does in life. Currently I tend to admire his first album the most, but just his character sells me on whether or not I will continue to be a fan of him as an artist in the future. And I will be.
This interview to me was very insightful, intellectual, and enlightening in a sense. Overall, a great interview and Miguel has definitely grown as a man and as an artist.
Hahahaha. I've played in the 'lesbian' pool. They all pretty much said the same thing except two. The two just had a thing for retro-vibe blackmen. Do you & be safe.....
"Too proper for the black kids, too black for the Mexicans"... Has been my struggle my whole life, I even lived in Michoacan and Guadalajara, but I have the same skin complexion as you in and that's just too black for most Mexicans. It was a pleasure hosting your concert in Sacramento when kaleidoscope dream dropped. Keep up the good music carnal
cahokia33 You've must not have listened to his album.. That's a line from the song "What's normal anyway" so I agree with your opinion but Miguel is speaking from he's personal experiences, that I can relate too being half black and Mexican myself.
24:35 Yessssss his live performance is amazing. Saw him live Oakland and he had me crying. He is honestly such a powerful person. His vibes are out of this world 😄😅😍
miguel is so smart and he's so right in saying that his music isn't the conventional music we hear and that it takes a little longer to get hooked to because it took me a whole year to really appreciate the genius of the Wildheart album. music is so much better when artists take their time with the music. He reminds me of artists like Kanye and Beyonce who take a few years to come back with quality music.
Hate that I'm so late! Love Ebro all day long...and Miguel...Mmmmm....Coffee! That song & video....beautiful. This interview was dope...Good vibes from Miguel and love the idea behind "Wildheart". I'm very big on people defining what brings them joy and fulfillment and life. Never weigh yourself on society's scales because they are ALL broken. Happiness is not a thing to find because its in you. Be you always. Honestly NEVER looked at Miguel in his entire career quite as much as I did in "Coffee". All the sexy blackness dripping off of him in that video...😍. However, always loved his music!❤❤❤
Nice interview & new album! I just did a track by track review on my channel. Dude is trying to cement his sound while pushing boundaries! Salute to him!
Did miguel get his own nike air/air jordan shoe for that flight and leg drop? Or am i looking for the wrong collaborators and NASA wanted to help him fly better?
He had me, the entire way, until he evaded the "Jump fail" question. I wanted him to be like "Well fuck it, that was a fail and fails inspire more successes". Other than that, great interview, he got me thinking about a lot of shit
I wish I could paaaaint our love.... these interviews are starting to become dry.... especially when it's the same subject matter across 3 & 4 stations.... should've just sang coffee A cappella lol
Miguel is one of my favorite artist. I watch all of his interviews and listen to his music. He really is playing it very safe with these "Wildheart" album questions. It's coming off a little more boring then he is.
The old Miguel should leg drop this album. Is it the worst album, No. But its the same tone in the majority of the songs. If you downloaded NWA, Coffee, or Hollywood Dreams when it was he released them, that is pretty much the whole album in a nutshell. His lyrics aren't powerful at all and this album doesn't even stress how powerful his voice can be. I get that he is trying to be smooth and calm but dang at least have one song where you are blowing it out of the park. Now there is one song that had potential and its "what's normal anyways" but the song is a cheaper production version of Emeli Sande's" Suitcase", go listen to that song and be move.
Miguel stop it, authentic.... normal...... conformity, enough of that bullshit. Adorn and You're Beautiful were the best and I have not heard anything good from you since.
***** I get how one would think that with his "trying to be way too deep" demeanor but i kinda buy it. Look at the amount of inflection he does on many of these question without losing his chain of thought and that his answers resonate with both the interviewers. His replies also don't seem rehearsed
***** Thoughtfulness can sometimes come across as being pretentious. What I saw was an honest person shedding the idea that he has to pretend to be a certain way.
