I HATE when influencers act so shocked and surprised when they put make up on, as if it's the first time everytime. When they look around with their eyes wide and they're just silent like come on girl you aren't getting an Oscar for this.

All these over-animated characters are the ones to never take at face value. Nikki, glamzilla, Jaclyn and of course...Mikayla. it's the one thing they have in common.

You should just keep getting the products from PR and donate things to women's shelters I know it sounds weird but they have interviews, meetings to get their own space, work, etc. And in general deserve to feel beautiful makeup is the last thing they spend money on

I do get the accent thing because I have a strong accent and I feel like I always change it depending on who I’m talking to, especially in a corporate environment (or something like the orientation vid) because a more neutral accent is seen as more ‘professional’. Accents also do change over time for a lot of people depending who you spend time with etc. I think she’s done enough other shady things that people can focus on instead of the accent obsession. Loving the updates on this!

Honestly - I don't feel the beauty community is completely in ruins. I've seen so many medium to smaller content creators. Many of which are genuine people, who put out a lot of great content, give great recommendations. I feel that the more larger scale creators are often so overtaken with greed and fame. They lose sight of what matters, and that should be honest and quality content. You can't have a platform and not expect people to call you out if you're going to try to push crap products.

Also, I have no love for Manny but he’s earned a bit of respect from me for talking about beauty influencers on TikTok and their shadiness.

You're right, PR should be in contact with influencers and ask wether they want to be part of the PR products or opt out of that specific PR launch. Other businesses do it easily by having people opt out or in.

That green product is so interesting! I love oil painting, so I'm obsessed with color. That product is just utilizing basic color theory, green and red are complementary so green visually cancels out red which is why it's working so well. My obsession with color is also why I don't do make-up on myself because I can never find exactly what I want. I'm so tempted to buy one of make-up kits made to blend into any color but I don't remember how to put it on well haha

Glamzilla also did a whoopsie with the Bobbi Brown concealer. She did an undisclosed advert for it and said she rated it or implied she loved it. Then, months later, when someone asks her if they should get that concealer Glamzilla said no, get the Maybelline age rewind or another brand. That she doesn't like the Bobbi Brown concealer that she raved about a couple of months before.

WOAH! She seems like a completely different girl pre-accent. Also, I think this is a good time for us to go back to trying out products for ourselves and get our own opinion without looking at beauty influencers reviews. Luckily, return policies are better these days. Grant it, there is waste to consider BUT even if the product don't work for you, you can give it away to someone else or return it or trash it. So what would be the difference? I have done this now. I'm used to going in the store and then finding products and then quickly youtubing it to see what others are saying but that's the extent. I don't go out getting things because an influencer told me and I don't avoid products that don't have influencers stamp of approval. It's clear they're doing all this for money at the end of the day. Quality and intergrity just don't seem to matter anymore...unless your Casey Holmes. That's my girl!

You can definitely tell when Mikayla does a sponsored ad. The way she talks you can tell which parts are scripted or which parts are points that need to be stated. it’s common for a lot of influencers, they’re not actors and they can’t hide it lol also who the heck doesn’t know how to fill those soap things, she definitely needed to show people how because it’s an ad.

GLAMZILLA does the EXACT same things as Mikayla. She hides her ads behind the TT writing just like Mikayla and did it on the L'Oréal mascara. She also deleted that video asking about believing creators. She also is Mikaylas bestie. They do their hair the same in rollers and went on the exact same brand trips and hung out and both review the same products and do the same undisclosed ads and so on and so forth. Oh, and she DEFINITELY uses filters at times.

In reality its actually unfair to the consumers who are buying the products, who usually earn less money themselves and who want a trusted review so that they don't waste their hard earned coin on products that actually aren't that good...

No, ppl are in her comments are asking her to do certain things and clearly she doesn't want to. So, she gets her best friend - who now has a private acct with 0 photo - to ask her to do things in the comments section she actually wants to do. As she doesn't want to do things where she has to purchase products or may not give a great review as she can make it an advert later. As on TT, a company can see an old video of yours and ask to make it an ad for them and pay you. And you just go into the back office on your TT and promote the post and turn it into an Ad and then the company pays you for said old video. Hence, they have such "positive" reactions to certain brands and products.
