A very sad day for animal rights in Australia today. Greyhound's by nature are lovely gentle animals. it's not their fault they are involved in such a brutal industry. OK today Baird let them down, clearly it's not the right time for him to stand his ground, but all is not lost.

I have faith in Australian's, we are not cruel people. This will ban will happen, I just hope it's sooner rather than later, 10s of 1000s of dogs are suffering and being destroyed in the mean time.

Excellent this is a blood sport like bull fighting, as such as no social license to operate, and deserves to be illegal. This is not the times of the Roman Coliseum. Good grief baiting live animals that is just barbaric and vicious.

Yes and despite what they say, ALL of them do it. A member of my family was involved in it when I was a child. I saw things that will haunt me for ever. Greyhound's are lovely gentle animals, it's in their DNA to run, they love it, the same as cattle and sheep dogs love to herd. They don't need "kills"to make them run faster they do it regardless.
