Brilliant film. Love Tonka 🤣 "Aww Boss 😢don't drop us Boss! 😢" 🤣 "Give me that lads legs and somebody else's brain and you've got a winner!" So true of many athletes really.
Couldn't agree more it at least understands the heart of the game and takes a human look at the managers lot while also adding in some cracking football jokes. The airport scene is tremendous taking 5 minutes to sum up the conflict of the home nations and even using Alan green voice of football on the radio when getting the Luxembourg score. Also the Kipling if scene is genuinely brilliantly acted and inspiring
That Keegan quote at the beginning was something I heard him say on the TV and then posted off to Private Eye's Coleman Balls. I feel like I've contributed to this film.
Mike Bassett should be managing a charity England side akin to these soccer aid games. If someone in production had the sense to make it happen… would be comedy gold
Had this on video VHS 📼 back in the day, I think I've still got it somewhere. Ricky Tomlinson at his best. (snatches phone off Harper who's wife is always ringing him) *"Will you FOOOHHHK OFF!"* 🤣
I thought Walsh was supposed to be Graham Taylor’s assistant Phil Neal. Who just repeated everything he said? It is on the “Do I not like that?” Documentary.
" What you doing to help me lad apart from locking the balls in the back of the bloody opel " A fucking criminally underrated movie. An absolute classic
England board didnt want to appoint Sir Alex cuz hes Scottish 😅😅 Lambert & Butler selected into the England set up one who is 46 year's old 😅 you cant write this stuff
