The abc front and rear valves can be rebuilt, cost point 35.00 for the rebuild kit. If you have a sphere broken 130.00 per sphere. One in the front two in the rear. The abc pump is very sturdy and use only MB seals for the pump lines cost point $1.50ct. Try it the abc system is what makes these cars so special to drive and own. Then it is just change the hydraulic fluid every two years and if you need a hose, get it from the local hydraulic shop for pennies on the dollar of what MB wants. Good luck.
Over 1000 subscribers now! Congratulations! Neighbors haven't complained yet? Yet may be the operative word here. LOL. I'm sure the zoning enforcement officer is on the way as we speak. Weird Beard may have another shipment of cars reroute shortly. 😛
Just started watching your channel I’m retired firefighter after 31 years of service and behold I started working on German cars worked as a mechanic for a long time on American automobiles so the German stuff is definitely a little different you’re very inspiring thank you so much your content is entertaining informative and funny as hell thanks a ton and you’ve got a new subscriber take care BK
Must keep lots of $100 dollar bills handy for Mercedes parts LOL. Loving your channel Mike, really enjoy the humor while dealing with frustrating issues!
Now that I think of it, I came over to your channel on Randy's recommendation. I hope you found the matching seat cover for that passenger seat. I have a hard time keeping up with all the channels I subscribe to. Not just cars. I like yours probably the best because I like Mercedes and I like the way you work on them and your personality. I also watch Impala Man. He has an 87 S class he works on. I don't think you need worry about the neighbors as long as you don't make a lot of noise and have a bunch of rust buckets sitting around.
AMG!!!! Yes!!!! I’ve only had 1 (a C43) that I loved and should not have sold. Thanks for the comments and thanks for watching. I’ll do my best to keep the content coming.
@@MonkeyWrenchMike Nice, I've yet to own that one but currently daily drive an W211 E55. Right now I'm looking at an SLK32. Once you go AMG, its hard to go back. Looking forward to the content.
Hey Mike love the videos. I watched all the ones you have posted and really enjoyed them. Looking forward to your future videos. Good luck on the new CL500!
Hello from Edmond! On the Copart sticker that came on the windshield there is a drop off date and that will let you know how long the car has been sitting there. But you’ll have to see them in person to get that info.
I would focus on the suspension problem and make it work on the 2003. It could a couple of videos on the theory of operation, troubleshooting and repair. I would highlight the issue in the video titles to get attention from those who are dealing with the same problem. I am sure the Mercedes forums work it to death but maybe you can find a rebuilder or remanufacturer that could take the OEM pump/actuator/whatever and make it right again. I recall a simpler system on 90's Lincoln Town Cars that used air bag suspension in the rear and a compressor for leveling and a comfortable ride. By the 2000's they were a problem and OEM parts were costly, but aftermarkets and forums saved the day for diy. One thing I see too much are guys who do videos and explain details on a subject but the titles are not specific enough to allow search results to find them.
I’ve replaced the ABC system on my $500 S500. Was super easy. I didn’t make videos though. I like the reliability but the ride isn’t as comfortable. Thanks fir writing!
You can send the seats to a upholstery shop maybe they can re do it. I suppose. Love that you take the risk with so much Mercedes and try to fix it if you do it anybody can do it. Thanks for your videos there are so much fun!!!
Hey Mike! New subscriber here. Love the videos keep it up! I’m a big Mercedes guy too. I’ve only had one though. I had a W220 S55 AMG. I have some videos of it on my channel. I think you should figure out which car is in the best cosmetic shape and keep that one and swap all of the good parts to that car. I was going to do a coil-over conversion to my S class had I kept it but that is a score that you found that CL like that!
if your hood's bonnet are not working, just snap two clips under the hydraulic moving rod one by one. (you first snap one then you hold the hood until you snap the other. No need for a piece of wood or a metallic bar to hold the hood.
Randy has been known to buy sight unseen before, so don't feel bad... That Naples hat reminds me of home. I lived there for over 30 years until I moved to Nashville in 05.
@@MonkeyWrenchMike .. Lol.. "Some". My mom and sister still live there.. Mom's in golden Gate right by I75 and my sister is up on Immokalee rd.. Hope to get back down there in a couple months. Haven't seen either of them in a few years now
wow, I just saw this video! we had the same exact thought at about the same exact time. I bought two 2002 cl500's, did your 2003 give you problems because there's some interior differences?
#mercedesclassicpierrehedary would appreciate that you try to put on the road these Mercedes benz, look at his classic old benz Chanel. Cheers Mr. Mike. 🇭🇷
Hi Mike, from Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia, about 260km west of Melbourne. I'm seriously considering buying a 2000 CL 500 ... in excellent condition. I didn't know about the common problem...but I think I'll be safe.
That’s a good question Pick the best overall car and put all the good bits in that one Then sell the other one off Would love to see you do a W126 Mercedes
Benz from 2002 looks better then 2003,so i think you should have 02 for keep and 03 for parts for solving 02. Look for parts of ABC pump and other Electronic parts of ABC suspension in 03 benz. It is much better ride then regular struts. And look at Randy last video or at least later videos of solving ABC S600 benz. Love your way of humor, keep up.
Might be time for new brushes or a regulator on the alternator. Fuel pump and fans is probably a fuse or relay issue. Or the pump may have failed, but I’ve had some last 200,000 miles!
One as a parts car? I'd have to make separate lists of parts & work needed to put both back on the road, with a title. Plus man-hours too. Then you have to consider while one may be more expensive to fix, it's less time consuming. Consider mileage. The dark charcoal on dark 02 then the burgundy (Ron? he's on TV you know) I like the burgundy interior car personally. Of course my opinion and $1.50 and you can get a Pepsi.
Honestly to take those two and make one would be so much work and such a headache I would advise against it, just Clean them up, make them run and sell them. I do have a few suggestions for you as someone that works on cars and watches a lot of channels like yours. Limit yourself to two or three special cars for projects for the channel and a when you can find one a car to just cleanup, do minor repairs and flip to help finance the hobby. Now to this end Randy as someone that he takes cars to, his name escapes me at the moment but the guy consigns cars for him on his lot, I would suggest talking with Randy and see if he will help you make the same connection with his seller? His seller at the lot, I would think would be grateful to find another free labor source and a new supply of cars? I mean think about it he does not have to go to auctions and spend money on inventory and a extra mechanic or two to get cars ready when he has RU-vid slaves like you and Randy doing it on your channel and bring them to him ready to sell?!
All can say is make a list the list of Costs !! It looks like you need to sell one or two to make it easier to get and out for the wife if you have one . I know you're thoughts ow I can fix that and that it not that bad . Any either Channel work on them or have one you can trade for help and work done .
I had a cl55 i loved that car it was stolen from me by the dealer and no it wasn't a repo they had it on a floor plan and never paid it off its a long story but needless to say i got screwed out of 15k
