Get him a pundit’s seat, more knowledgeable than most. Also would help analyse decisions and clarify the referee’s viewpoint.

Credit to the game, 22 years reffing in top flight says it all really. Well done Mike Dean and try and enjoy your retirement. Filling a Saturday afternoon after such a long time in the game will be hard to do.

As a Chelsea fan I’m not the biggest fan of Mike and feel we have been on the wrong end of him a fair few times, however this was a nice interview and it’s good to get to know the person behind the cards.

I think they can be interviewed after games, but they choose not to.

We all know the reason refs won’t get interviewed after a game. If they have a good game no one will want to interview them, they make mistakes they will have to do dozens of interviews explaining their thinking.

Used to hate mike dean but watching this video I can see why he refs the way he does... not easy refereeing a game never mind refing big personalities and to admit he doesn't always get it right makes him a top ref in my opinion

Petulant Mike Dean! Terrible terrible terrible referee. Although, bold, but he was the worst I have seen in the premier league thus far! Always wants to be at the centre of attention. Anthony Taylor and Michael Oliver are the best I have seen in recent times. Even though they make some dodgy decisions at times, but their all-round refereeing has been great so far. Not surprising he used Wenger as the scapegoat.

Mike Dean why am i not surprised that he has given out the most Red Cards, he strikes me that he really wanted to be a footballer but wasn’t good enough! so he needed to do something which got him notice ! he certainly hated Man Utd if it was a 50/50 Utd never got the decision in my eyes a poor referee, a referee should be neutral! i feel sorry that Tranmere will have to put up with him on regular visits! but pleased he is finishing.
