The ULEZ taxes need to be tested in a Crown Court under Common Law, where the Jury has the absolute right to declare ULEZ Zones illegal.

Not one of us voted for any of this.

It’s more than money, it’s about ending car ownership. The zones will sprout like mushrooms & the rules will get stricter and stricter. The ULEZ cameras in London are really for road user charging - every car will be charged per mile in a year or two. It’s got to be nipped in the bud now.

Currently working in Sheffield. Car not affected yet but it soon will. I live 30 miles away. How am I expected to get to work at 7am without using my car? Public transport adds an extra 90 mins each way on my commute

I don't know if it's just me but driving as slow as 20mph my mind wanders. I'm probably a bigger danger than driving at 30mph.

I drove down the M1 past Sheffield yesterday at a daft 60,ph with the signs declaring speed limit for air quality! Whilst crawling along I looked both left and right over Sheffield and gazed at lots of large chimneys churning out masses of pollution. Madness and just about money.

I live in Sheffield. The town centre is pretty much dead these days anyway. You can't drive anywhere. There's concrete anti terrorist blocks everywhere.

The best clean air zones are parks & greenspace within cities. The cost/reward of setting up the ULEZs is negligible, but the reward from investing in parks is much greater. - yet parks are seen as a cost burden.

In the last 50 years the air in Sheffield as improved immeasureable.Every coal mine ,ninety % steel worksGas works coke ovens 90% coal fires cleaner cars how much more ?

Yeah, it's less of an issue if you live in central London and have access to buses, the tube, taxis, subsidised bikes, rickshaws, CABLE CARS...unicycles, pogo sticks, hang gliders and trained dinosaurs, but for the rest of us it's bloody outrageous.

It's a fact that if you drive at 20mls an hour through a 40mls an hour zone you will put out 2 times the pollutant's in the air, electric car's won't work people have problems now finding a charger, the electric grid will not be able to sustain the amount of power needed to power the chargers

Having just organised a new lease through motability, there were no cars I could afford to lease on the scheme, as a disabled person I rely on my car to do everything, go to work, hospital, and all everything I need to do, it's a nessescity. If I want to go on a bike I need my spinal cord lesion fixing, when the Government or local authority, can do that for me I will happily go on a bike. This like everything WOKE is designed to dimminised the free will of the individual, and make us all homogenous.

Just use your vote wisely and vote for a party that gets rid of these wacky ideas .... and I mean the Reform party.

The country's has gone absolutely mad and seemingly we have councils run by dictators which surely isn't right. Talk about an unstable country, the UK will never get back on track with trade, its stifled too much by dictators in their ivory towers, spouting all kinds of restrictions & costs! You can understand why there seems to be a resource shortage of tradesmen, a generation of people not working and who can blame them. If they can get by on their savings or early retirement then good luck to them. I never realised that we had soooo many idiots running this country.

Had a fine from Bristol sent it back with a warning to the council that they will face charges for extortion guess what it was cancelled

All sheffield councillors should never be allowed to drive their personal cars anywhere in the country unless they have trackers fitted and working and be charged for the privilige.The same should be used over the whole of councils with ULEZ style schemes

Manchester CAZ you can not even drive to a park and ride without paying it, if you want to drop someone at Manchester airport you have to pay it to drive 400 yds to drop them off plus a £6 fee . Its madness. Thank god they have delayed it, but it will come.

Sheffield Council boasted "it will bring in £100,000 a week" The charge is to use the ring road around the city, the city is now all pedestrianised

My hope is that most people used to think local government was about the less political stuff - more local admin. Big wake up for us all. Next time we vote for local councils we need to be very careful who we put in power and vote for those who will oppose local tyrants.

These cities are going to become insular ghettos. People will stop visiting, businesses will close down, people will have to order everything online, which will increase prices because the delivery people will have to pass on the cost. Scrappage schemes are very limited, you would be very lucky to get on one, if you’re working with just a living wage , you won’t be considered. Also there isn’t the infrastructure to support these electric vehicles. My husband has a knee replacement and is waiting for another, I have back issues after nursing for 47 years, we can’t ride bikes or use e scooters. Also good luck getting DIY supplies home on the back of a bike.

Hello What really piss's me off is London may have really good bus and train service. But I live in a rural area . Yes we do have bus routes but we don't have any buses. Example my mother lives in sheltered housing for pensioner's. If she wants to use a bus to do her shopping in clevedon which is about 5 miles away and doesn't just have a rubbish little coop. She has to walk about a mile to the bus stop and catch a bus to Bristol 15 miles away to catch a bus to clevedon which is 5 miles away from her home. When she's finished she has to catch a bus back to Bristol to catch a bus home we are lucky if we have buses every 3 or 4 hours. She is in her 80's and has had both hips replaced. Don't forget she gets off the bus to start her mile uphill walk home. Impossible for her. She wants to keep some kind of independents so orders her food to be delivered. I try to get her to let me drive her to the supermarket and back. But she won't the government managed to scare her so much over the virus that she has only allowed me to visit her once since it all began that was 2 weeks ago. She's to SCARED to go out. She's obviously not got many years left and the government have taken that from her. I personally will never forgive the government especially the likes of Hancock while he squeezed his girlfriend's ass my mother hid. Cheers from a Angry grumpy old fart.
