I'm going to be sad when Mike Joy retires. As I did when Ken Squire retired. There is nothing more nostalgic about Nascar than the announcers voice. It's what I remember most about being a kid watching nascar.
@mikesupthn18

I was a kid growing up in the sixties and the only voices you heard were on the car radio every Sunday with my dad. The way they described the action on the track made you believe you were actually there. The new NASCAR fans of today missed out on true greatest.

@@mikesupthn18 absolutely. The voices and the names through the years that I miss, Ken Squire, Ned Jarrett, Buddy Baker, Bob Jenkins, then later on Alan Bestwick, Benny Parsons, Bill Weber, Dr. Jerry Punch, Joe Moore, Barney Hall, Eli Gold. To me there as much a part of the memories as the drivers.

Retired a few years ago i miss his voice personality his knowledge of the sport of nascar his humor his boogity boogity boogity starting with the Daytona 500 & all the other Races..makes me kinda sad mike is a great announcer too since ive been watching nascar since 98 the Veteran drivers i grew up watching only two vets left Kurt busch & Harvick 2 of pretty much the Dale Jr era when him Kurt Newman Jimmy Kensth all started about the same time i miss all them guys on track man nascar has changed i hope Dale JR has a son & He Carries on the Earnhardt Legacy into the Future.

I almost shredded a tear when Mike Joy talked about the last time he talked to Dale and I thought what could’ve been.... He probably would’ve raced at Le Mans, Spa, Nurburgring and other great road courses around this great world of ours... Man I got goosebumps just thinking about it... The sport would be in a much different way if Sr. didn’t pass... I think we should have a Apple TV or a simple mini series NASCAR alternate timeline What If scenario series based on the drivers we’ve lost... like that alternate timeline series “For All Mankind” and I think it should be life action or animated... I hope we should see something like this down the road. If Marvel and The Space Race does it. Why can’t NASCAR?! And I’m sure it’ll never get off the ground but that’s what I want I don’t care what big tech thinks... but I don’t know what would be the NASCAR what if scenario series title called? What do you guys think?

Mike Joy is perhaps the best broadcaster the sport has ever seen, and he’s never even raced professionally! He’s garnered so much respect from everyone in the sport: drivers, fans, promoters, NASCAR execs… His knowledge of the sport and his way of relating to the people is what got him there.

@IRLangmaid25
@IRLangmaid25 10 месяцев назад
The Corvettes in the C5-C7 variants were always popular at Le Mans during the GT1 when they were battling the Prodrive Aston Martins from 05 till GT1 became GTE due to costings The battles were just fantastic because of the complete contrasts between the V12 Gulf Aston's which are more cruising GTs and the Vettes which were run by Pratt and Miller and Luc Alphand which thunderous. I can just picture the 63 car with Dale Snr at the wheel at Le Mans going toe to toe with the Aston's in my minds eye right now.
