Whenever I was in a bad mood in the past couple of months, I would always come back to this stream and watch you going through the water level...and the insane amount of schadenfreude I felt cheered me right back up. Those Taito Hanna-Barbera games certainly seem like games one would have a love-hate relationship with...good graphics, awesome music (well for the most part) but insanely difficult. I wonder how the other NES Flintstones game "Surprise At Dinosaur Peak" compares to this: better, worse or about the same amount of rage induction? LOL
I always liked this gamme up until the water level, then it kinda falls apart. Like I don't give a fuck about playing the China or Jetson levels in a Flintstone game.
Nothing I hated more in old games than the moving camera levels, where it was death by off screen. Lol mike is playing as Fred, but eventually turns into Bam Bam.
All about this just reminds me of how stressful it was as a kid. This game is just a string of bullshit parts, and that knock back animation on hit is the worst. It's like their inspiration was Castlevania, but only the frustrating aspects.
Actually, Elizabeth Taylor played his mother in law, in fact that was the last motion picture she made, though technically she was in a TV-movie or a show that nobody knew of before she passed away.
Now the real question: Which was harder and more miserable to get through, this or The Jetsons: Cogswell's Caper? Wrote that before I saw this has a Jetsons level, that's pretty cool!
For reals? Do people consider this a hard game? I only remember Hitl... i mean Butler being the only challenging thing in the game and i would never consider myself a pro player by any means.
Hey Mike, I had recently recommended Astral Chain which you said you tried but couldn't get into. Have you tried Bayonetta 1? It's hard as balls, and it literally drops you into the game with barely any story, all cutscenes skippable.
Great stuff as always Mike. I personally have very fond memories of the NES Flinstones games. I remember I always finish them back to back when I was a kid. Not sure how the frick I was able to though, because as you shown in this compilation, they had their bs moments.
If you think this is funny you need to be there for the stream live. If you were worried about those Twilight Zone episodes being real, the one's that really bother you, then I think Mike's stream proves on lots of levels that you were right to be scared. Enjoy!
