Fun fact the model in this video, Markus Reinhardt, said they filmed this entire workout in one day, every single body part being pushed to absolute failure- he said he was absolutely exhausted at the end😂😂
Mike: “gonna have a hell of a pump when this one’s over. Not that the pump is the most important thing in the world but it does feel good, and there’s something to be said about feeling good isn’t there?” Markus: “urghhhkksshhh” Mike: “yup very good”
Mike looks so bad here. He died at 49. His health must have been struggling at this point in his life. It pains me to see someone so knowledgeable, with first hand experience, give up on being in any kind of shape. RIP sir.
I recently discovered mike and adopted his philosophy on intensity, rest, and muscle groups. For as wise and fit as he was I wish he had the same outlook on drugs. I think it’s important to take all the good you can from him and disregard the bad, just like any other source of knowledge.
@Old Skool Bodybuilding Routines lol is that it? Could you be a little more specific? How many sets, reps? How many movements? How frequent? Why does volume work? Break it down please.
“You mangy coward” LOL Trying these workouts and concepts and they do work. Reminds and shows me what the purpose is weight lifting is: direct muscle stimulation and growth without momentum doing a lot of the work. Mike was great, R.I.P.
Most people have no idea what this is which is a good and bad thing. It's sad to see so many gym goers enter the gym and waddle around not really stimulating anything and leaving the gym thinking they've gained something which only they've gained is the loss of time and energy.
@Old Skool Bodybuilding Routines you are obsessed with mike and trying to prove him wrong. the problem is MODERN heavy duty followers dont train like mike.
you don't need pre when you are well rested, well nourished and well motivated plus when you only working out for 20-40 minutes max pre seems over kill :D
Did my first arm workout , focusing on 6-8 reps, 2 sets for each exercise. Never felt a pump like it. Quite brilliant. Each two was 5-7 seconds , controlled and squeeze!!!
I'm 1 month in to this training Mike's way and the progress is amazing so far,,1 workout every 4 days,,I'm now 56yrs old I wish I did this training years ago but even so the progress is amazing,,I use to train 5 days a week and didn't make the progress I'm making now,,this totally works big time. Strength gains within first two weeks.
@@DarkoFitCoach I have not but my progress is happening quicker than ever,,I do know the recovery time has made a huge difference in strength,,barbell row for instance went from 205lbs for working sets to 225lb working sets with good form I have not done this in a few years due to injurys and maybe over training,,triceps cable push down,,now doing whole stack on final set where before was doing 3/4 of stack, seated chest press on machine,,whole stack (200lbs) on final working set,,I never did this,,this system is amazing, shrugs for the traps,,went from 265lbs to 315 lbs on final working set. Dumbell flys 60lbs each arm,,it's all progress not made in a long time with age and injurys past,,I doubted this program but I decided to try it and I'm glad I did.,,I workout 2 hours a week.
Listen to Mentzer speaking,he sounds exactly like someone who is on Percocets, definitely taking more than prescribed,he had alot of ailments both internal and physical. RIP
I did this methodology when training arms and implemented it on other exercises as well at times. I did eventually develop tendonitis (golfers) because the bicep and tricep are easily overtrained and stressed. It is essential to rest and message adequately.
However, if I had trained smarter, I would not have developed the issues. My arms grew to 18'' flexed at 190lbs. For a natty with who played wide receiver in football, I was happy with the strength and results I attained from this. They were great memories with my old man who showed me. He was 55 at the time, he's 60 now; on carnivore diet and going strong.
@@lordhoboofsavior36 I think you can achieve same results just by doing dropsets to failure. Its much less painful. Takes more time though but less worries about possible injury. The slower the move the more tension is applied on tendons. Its not very healthy.
@@przygodyzmtb 1st. if the pain is too much, you shouldn't bother going to the gym then. Do something else like a walk to the park. 2nd, most people failed to achieve similar result that can only achieve by muscular failure when doing drop set method, they decrease the weight too much and they just end up increasing the reps/volume of the sets while achieving less muscular failure and intensity. 3rd. The risk of tendon injury when doing HIT will always be less when compare to doing high volume, high frequency workout program. People doing 10-20 sets per muscle group, hitting the gym 4-6 times a week will never be as fully healed as someone who does HIT, high intensity and rest as long as they physically and mentally needed, they can rest for as long as 10 days and still hitting PR, lifting advance or elite weight all while maintaining healthy tendon and joint.
@@TheFirstAmendment im confuse and you re not making any sense. What you doing is exactly as mike teaching. Rest enough that your body fully recovered from the workout. If the workout was too much, especially if one is lifting advance or elite weight whatever they may be for the individual person, causing pain, elbow tennis, etc, they should rest much longer... OR/AND lower the working set per bodypart. Did you do the opposite or something?
Need i ... for example for biceps...only 1 exercise for rest of the life- barbell curl? or is necessary change exercise for example every 2-3 months (muscles shocking/ adaptation to exercise)... i didnt notice any info about this from Mike.
So if its 6-8 days before the next workout, does that mean it can be anywhere from 18-24 days before the next arms workout? I know rest is key but that just seems insane like im missing somethinf
He is using dips as a tricep exercise rather than a primary chest exercise. Chest is hit on another day with back. As we all know, dips destroys triceps and depending on the lean degree you can adjust it to hit more or less chest.
His life choices are just that, his. Focus on his teachings and research. Coleman is full of surgeries, nuts, bolts all throughout his body. He walks in crutches, yet nobody critics him
If Mike wouldve won the 1980 Mr Olympia and if he wouldve won more people would've looked into his training method and his teachings. Thats why majority of bodybuilders nowadays train similarly to Arnold, multiple hours a day 6 days a week, because Arnold is the most famous Bodybuilder ever, and thats how he trained so everyone copies him
Steroids if anything keep a person looking more young and vibrant. Steroids as u know are anabolic meaning muscle building and by definition having bit more muscle and being more fit will look younger and more vibrant.
They're supposed to be done separately but it would have been extremely impractical and unlikely to schedule Mike, Marcus, and the camera crew several days so they did all of them on one day in different settings so Marcus could rest
@@diddlysquat88 do you know the Song from Heavy Duty Chest/Back Part 3 where he trains Back, with Pullover Mashine and Pulldowns, Thank you for you help !!
