@@Ron_De_Vous I sure did. I was driving into the city (Philly) for work on the Platt bridge by Philly Int'l airport. It had rained overnight, and the roads were still pretty wet. I usually never listened to them but did that morning and i dozed off for idk how long but woke up and saw cars stopped in front of me. I slammed the brakes but skidded into the car stopped in front of me. Thankfully nobody was hurt.
i dunno why i actually think simmons respects greenberg but for some reason never thought golic was that talented, so seems like he has no issues with greenie now.

That couldn't be more of an arbitrary statement, nor could it have made less sense. Simmons and Cowherd are 10x the sports broadcasters these 2 are. Mike and Mike are both smart people, but their show is nothing but playful bs to appease the retards that comprise 99% of sports "fans" in this country. They never have an interesting take or opinion, ever. They do what espn wants and never rock the boat. It's good or a laugh from time to time because of the dynamic they have. But as far as sports substance goes, Mike & Mike have none.

no he got fired for calling out roger goodell on his soft stance on domestic abuse in the NFL. He called him out hard. The NFL, who has a contract with espn, warned them to tone it down and espn got scared. As valuable as simmons was to espn, the risk of losing a contract with the NFL was way worse. The nfl is the most powerful corporation in television and if you notice no other sports personality dared call out roger goodell who claimed he never saw the video of ray rice beating up his wife when taking his soft stance on the situation. There were a few sports personalities talking about how "domestic abuse is bad" as if thats a "brave thing to say", but no one ever bashed the league or goodell like simmons did. And yea, espn is the most popular sports network, but the kardashians are also the most watched show on tv. Ratings don't equal quality
Mike Golic has the mind of a 9 year old, and no capability for abstract thought, he just shares opinions but no perspective. He basically just says the same thing everyone else does over and over again. He basically just shares strong opinions, i.e. "this player and/or team played good, this player/team is bad" and then says it really strongly, and one group of people like it, one group doesn't, he says it in a loud voice to stir up emotion and it makes people feel good or bad depending. Its a basic formula for ratings that espn uses. Theres no truth or out of the box perspective. Its just the same crap over and over again. The only reason golic calls out simmons, and ultimatley the only reason simmons is fired is because he threatens this formula, and also threatens those who are slaves to it.
Golic doesn't understand simmons ibecause Simmons doesn't say things to be right or wrong, he says things to get people to think, or to bring to light what no one else is talking about. Simmons is about quality not self righteous pride. The truth is, as a cavs fan, I was a little scared when I saw Lebron come out way thinner then he was in Miami to start the season. But no one else was addressing this. As a person who watches sports its a legit thought in the mind of a fan. Simmons reaches for the abstract that hides deep within the fans mind, that you don't talk about. Golic is just a "say something in a big voice" guy and then hope its a 50.50 shot that he's right and then he can be like "seeeeeee I told you". I think in general Golic apeals to the Lebron hater more in general anyway, its stupid for golic to try to defend Lebron, he usually never does. Golic cares nothing about defending Lebron he only wanted to take down Simmons who he hates because he is threatened by him.
@ 3:57: I wonder if this is the first time they've had to backpedal on something they've said based on out of context audio. I mean, they must have done the same thing to a bunch of other sports figures (and will probably continue to going forward; I've only seen/listened to the show once or twice, but it seems like unmindful overreaction to out of context soundbites is a staple on the program).
Right, they basically do this a couple times each show where they play something out of context and criticize someone for it. Simmons is the first guy ever to have the clout to get them to man up for their shit.
Really tuff to watch now knowing that Mike and Mike really hate eachother. Idk Pti with Wilburn and Tony they may not agree alot but there is respect and they are friends. Stephen A and Max K get along off set,Skip and Shannon i enjoy watching ( Skip is really stubborn sometimes) . Like i said and it doesn't even make sense but once i learnrd they hate eachother off set it just wasn't same to me any more
I don't watch Mike & Mike much but I thought Billy's tweets about them were some unprofessional and petty shit. Gained some respect for M&M. Twitter should just be for middle school and high school kids
Mike & Mike is terrible. No substance in the show whatsoever. How in the hell do these guys have a national show. Listen to Francesa for a week. He's a blowhard, but you get the sports info I would hope fans want.
Haha. I do listen to a lot of sports radio, I'll admit. Schmuck's a pretty hard way to sum me up though. I listen to quite a bit of Cowherd & Rome too. That should cover up my sense of humor, I would think. You consider Mike & Mike humourous? The bit they did on Madden killing Golic as a player was outstanding, but other than that...
Mike and mike are the greatest sports hosts analysts ever ! They keep it short yet sweet and they don't over argue and bitch at each other like couples do! If I want to hear bitching I'll call my wife or listen to stephen a smith if I want a great morning of good sports talk radio or TV I watch mike and mike period !!!
