It was around the time he got the bad media rap for saying he was a dick for leaving a studio in middle of his contract due to script dispute. But he didn’t make any money from it so...but I bet that’s why audience maybe quiet.
Mike, you are a tremendous talent. Your humor is not lost, especially today... I know you don't want to be a part of the 'machine', and I just want to thank you for your story, your performances, your candor... Some of the best moments of my life are tied to: 'So I Married an Axe-Murderer'...
"I invented Post-Its." "No you didn't." "Yeah I did." "No you didn't." "Yeah I did." "No you didn't." "Okay well, who did, then?" "A guy named Art Fry, we studied him in business class." 😂😂

@@samuelstevenson8587 Not to nitpick but it was his idea to do the Scottish accent. He did the movie in his regular voice and he asked to re-record it with the accent.
After watching a few videos of Rodney Dangerfield on Johnny Carson, I stupidly realized that Rodney was still performing even during the guest segment following the stand-up routine. Stupid me. Well I never followed either one of them. This is the same BS, and I don't find it entertaining, and rather insulting in fact. It's ok. It's just show business.
The Love Guru was a huge flop and basically ended his career. And he was so ashamed about it he went into hiding. People still haven't forgotten about how terrible that movie was.
we used to hang out with him as kids, in west derby village, Liverpool with Ray, Sean and i. Am sure his uncle drove a hackney black taxi. we would also hang out in our woods, on the ralla =(railway) it was slow freight that run through village we would play footy =(soccer), we would light fires in the woods make dens and stay out late, etc etc. Last adventure we had he jumped on the end guard carriage, and the train sped up, he would not jump off, we didn't see him for a wk, as he was grounded. He was funny even as 9/10/11/ yr. old, Pete Best also lived in our village, he had the casaba club in his basement, we often walked past his house, singing Beatles songs. if you see this Mikey, come say hello R KID. i see you still got your accent m8. love and peace and thanks for the times as a kid and your movies. Chris amo. god bless, take care.
So that bit about Dr. Evil's father making outrageous claims, like he invented the question mark... That was really Mike poking fun at his own father! Holy cow 🤣
My all time favorite skit of Jay's Tonight Show was always---- Jay- Walking- showed those those idiots that have relocated to L.A. To hit it big , yet I dug when Jay talked to them --- for one -> who's on the 1 dollar bill ? When you get answers like Bill Clinton, or Lincoln- Jackson-- man you can dig how dumb those California folks really are. .... Just like the Beach Boys- I can only take so much of that surfing shit. ~~~ I'm from Wisconsin and have always liked The Beatles, and Hard Rock. ------ maybe I'm the freak ?
I think its so romantic that his wife wants him to remember his father by him wearing his dads encyclopedia ring. That's real selfless love. Speaks volumes about his wife.
Total Film brought me here - there's a fascinating article this month about how difficult he was to work with during the filming of 'Wayne's World'. Er... allegedly.

It would be the ultimate, to have him read to you at night in that Liverpool accent! I love it...lol His best skit was Dieter in Sprockets. (SNL) Best movie was So I Married an Axe Murderer. Genius!
