A vocal coach analysed Mike Patton's voice and said he could actually be different people depending on the style he uses. So good luck saying with surety this isn't him.

I've been listening to Mike Patton for over thirty years and that is certainly his voice! If you think this is odd then wait till you hear some of his other stuff!

This is not his voice. The uploader has the original recording in the description. It’s from 1987 and Mike’s name is not on it.

To say that this is not Patton`s style really undermines his vocal ability. After listening to all Mr. Bungle and Faith No More albums I can safely say that there is no limit to what this man can do.

FNM would play the beginning of this song as an intro to another song back in the day, but this is definitely not them. This is an old Merle Travis song and has been covered a billion times.

I've been listening to Patton on a near-daily basis for twenty years and this is definitely NOT him! NOT Fantomas, Peeping Tom, Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, General Patton and the Xecutioners, nor any other project of his. It quite simply is not his voice.

This is a band Called Brave Combo..I am 99% sure, as well as being 100% sure it is not Mike Patton Search Brave Combo 16 tons, and you will find a live video by them that is identical sounding!

While a lot of people are posting that this is Brave Combo - because your Shazam says so, this is not correct. The 'live' youtube video proves well enough that this doesn't sound the same, vocally and instrumentally. Why this particular version of the song is so hard to find is greatly frustrating, but someday... the truth will come out.

for christ sakes he can also sound like tom waits if he wanted too. maybe this is his voice when he's not trying, i hear a lil hint of the whiny bungle days. if you a patton fan and followed his work this comes close to some one sounding like patton.

@IncaRoads1808 not convinced its brave combo, I've heard this song close to 5-10+ years ago. i had downloaded some other bootleg also claiming it was Patton. voice does sound an awful like Patton.doesn't sound much like the guy singing it in the brave combo videos on here.and this version of the song doesn't have a flute in it at all.

@makthnife the band is good sure. but you have been blessed to hear one of the best vocalists of the past 20 years. Yes, this song is NOT a good show of that talent, but do yourself a favor, look up some mike patton stuff here on youtube before you call him a clown.

As a Pattonphile I wanna say this sounds like him and is something he'd do with Bungle or Zorn and friends but I've never heard it before. But fuck me if some of the deeper tones don't sound a bit off. Still makes me shake my ass. I'll wait for video proof to the contrary.

it was "Let's Lynch the land lord" a Dead Kennedys cover. And I don't think Patton is really singing this song. It might be Bungle but it's not Patton. If you were as big fan as I am you should know that this is not Patton's style.

I love Patton's music, I'm a huge FNM and Bungle fan, but this shit fuckin' sucks. It lacks all the soul and feeling that the original and other covers have.
