@@TheBigMclargehuge His fans and musicians know and respect him. Most people have no idea who Mike Patton is. He's not a household name like other singers such as Mariah Carey or Celine Dion for example. More people know Michael Buble than Mike Patton and that's just plain wrong. But Mike Patton's body of work is so large and diverse, he's going down in history and will be remembered long from now no matter what. If he died tomorrow, he would instantly become 100x more popular than he is now. That's the kind of artist Mike Patton is.
apparently, I've heard that he has a greater range than even Freddie Mercury, who is often celebrated for his 4+octave range. I read somewhere that Patten's is close to six! (WOW). not only does he have fantastic range, but his ability to change the sound of his voice in such unusual ways (thinking back to Faith No More days) is absolutely genius.
I'm obsessed with this performance. I've probably played this clip twice a day every day for the last two weeks. As good as the original is, this version is magnificent.
I predict that 1000 years in the future Mike Patton will still be making music, with his head in one of those glass jars like in Futurama. Collaborating with some of the greatest musicians the Universe has ever know. Make my words, it will happen ;)
That's *exactly* what he's like. When I met him, he looked at me, I looked at him, and smiled and he opened his eyes huge and we both started laughing at the same time. It was awesome. You just described it perfectly.
The only interaction I've had with him was during a show. Fantomas opened for Tool and after the first song the crowd was silent. I was at the front and screamed "YEAHHHHH!" really loud. He looked at me, widened his eyes, and smiled a huge smile while giving me the finger. I felt this inside joke phenomenon during a live show with 10,000 other people in an arena. Reading your comments put a smile on my face.
If you listening all the work Mike Patton does in music, i mean all of he's projects, you dont have to listen anything else and you can say you enjoy every kind of music
I know it’s 15 years old but the fact that Mike got over a million people to appreciate 60s Italian Chamber pop with this video is an an achievement I’m not sure we’re all cognizant of lol dude what a voice
Mike Patton can do whatever he wants to musically. As an Italoboo, and long time Pattomite, I was blown away by this album. Dude is a literal music genius
I thought so too but the second time that part comes up, you can see that he’s not making that sound. He even starts singing something else while that sound is still going. I think it’s someone else singing.
patton really enjoyed this project. he said so. and I personally love it, this song gives me goosebumps. it's being so original and at the same time so far fetched that makes patton stand out amongst other artists
This is perfect Patton!! I LOVE Deep Deep Down, it's a great encapsulation of what makes Mike's music interesting, and powerful. He is at his best on this tour! ... No complaints from me about him seeming lazy, or indifferent while performing. This, the Mondo Cane project in general, is a wonderful expression of his singing talent, and something to be very proud of. His passion is felt, and his intensity in every word, appreciated. Thanks Mike! Truly a wonder-work of music, and a great tour. If you bring more of this joy of singing and musical expression to the art-form, I'm all ears! : You've brought me a smile, lot's of hope, and moved me, artistically.
Great song, Mike Patton is a true genius. Who'd think the same guy that first broke into the mainstream with Epic and Faith No More would be doing this and excelling at it? Truly one of the most versatile vocalists ever.
We saw him play this with Mondo Cane @ Hardly Strictly Bluegrass last year. It is my wife's leas favorite song and my most favorite song. I love Mike Patton, we love Mike Patton, yes yes yes Patton Morricone
Had one of the best moments when I was looking up a song from my childhood and found a random cover by one of my favorite singers of all time. Owe Mike my life for this!
I was 13 when I fell in love with Mike Patton at a Tool show. almost 11 years later and I'm still in love. He's worked with everyone, made every kind of music, can sing any kind of sound. Way versatile, way awesome.
THANK YOU GOD for sending this genius to my country twice this year! Faith No More @ Israel 3rd September 2009 Mike Patton's Mondo Cave @ Israel 3rd August 2010
