what i like about him so much is that he utilizes his whole kit. his creativity is what makes him such a good drummer. its not all about speed. hell i dont even play drums and i know this haha
I've seen Mike a couple of times with Dream Theater and again last night with The Winery Dogs and even on a small, single bass kit and basic cymbal set up, was amazing!

Don't get me wrong either, but I think Bonham had a little more going for him than foot technique. He was an amazing drummer, and if given the opportunity I'm sure he would have picked up the use of a second pedal, and showed these guys who's boss. I credit Mike's success more to the fact that he's been playing for like 30 years and has been amazing for 25 of them. I'm tired of modern drummers being torn down for playing two pedals as if it somehow negates technical abilitiy. Just an opinion
Why did you skip the invites? Why would you put that start part explaining the invites in if you're just going to skip them? I had to find the full video to go watch it myself.
Just a suggestion-- but first - thanks for the video. Awesome solo. But I agree with DrumGuitarist1379 -- perhaps you could split it -- first 10 from the beginning -- then the rest (the really good stuff) on the 2nd? Of course if I really knew what I'm talking about -- I would have uploaded/edited myself. LOL Just my 2 cents. :D Otherwise -- good job!
Why would you edit out the part where he invites people up? The part that people want to see because he talks about it for the first 40 seconds? I don't understand.... taking a part of a great solo out, and making audio problems in the process. Great solo though!
The Japanese people are so polite. It sometimes comes across as disinterest. They are loving the concert but they just don't show it outwardly. Weird, huh?
first of all, ive played for about 13 years, and trust me I know lars is not one of the best of all time, he could keep a beat and nothing more I know more then anyone what studio magic can do, and that there are Thousands of deserving musicians who never get the respect they deserve, But why try to take credit away from someone like lars who could make a Massive career out of his skills
Well it's just that... I'm not trying to take away credit from lars, since he got this far, and made a huge carrier out of it... Just, the bottom line is that he is not good... He is ok, and he fits the bands needs perfectly. If he didnt, he would just be one of the ex members of metallica...
good solo but all I hear is double bass thru out , a few more tastely licks and grooves do it for me , nice but keep to the songs as I started to grow a beard watching this .
