I can tell what many songs names and artists are within the first few beats played, too. It’s not that hard and it’s even more fun when you get it wrong because you realize how similar some songs are when you try to name it as fast as possible

I'm not sure how he missed that one...it's an 80s drum classic...one of the finest snare sounds ever committed to tape, in my fucked up opinion...he was at Berklee in the late 80s, though...when you're at Berklee, what goes on musically in the outside world has a way of completed passing you by, strange as it sounds...you're too busy getting high, transcribing some steely dan tune off aja and listening to your roommate bitch about how difficult it is to get studio time at a reasonable hour

No, original will do just fine, thanks. For a proper Death drum intro we have Flattening of Emotions. @Pizzanator: If I hear "drum intro", Painkiller is the first thing I think of. No. 20 should be 6:00 from Awake, just for shits and giggles.

Drummers are so used to playing famous intros from practicing but his range impressed me although surprised he did not Tre Cool from Green Day. I used to play Billy Idol Mony Mony in a band so that was in there. Another good one is Strutter by Kiss. I remember when I played the intro to a friend and they knew what it was from the drums. I thought I am onto something here. Too young to fall in love by Motley Crüe works well as too does Run to the Hills by Iron Maiden. In fact Clive Burr has many recognisable beats and fills. If I play the fill from Wrathchild people pick this out too. Fireball if you can play it is also excellent. Also and moving away from rock Two Princes by Spin Doctors has a great beat and fills to match. It is lovely to listen to as a drummer.
