Feat. Rachid Bellaini, Murthel Groenhart etc PS. The Kid is doing very ok... He Must be very good to spar with these fighters its all part of his training. Please do NOT worry with him;)) Its a Pro sparring Session real fighters only!
@Spinning Back-Kick Hey man lemme tell ya, I've been training in Muay Thai/Dutch kickboxing for quite a while and have been overseas to train a couple times, and I have to agree, this style of sparring is fucking terrible unless you're looking for very temporary glory and very permanent CTE brain injuries.
@@bigb6976 Im training in a dutch kickbox gym, and I agree with you, fighters in thailand often fight up to 200+ times, thats because they train and spar lightly and save up the potential damage for the fight. Here its common to have around 50 pro fights because the sparring is always close to 100% , the injuries pile up fast in a pro carreer.
2:22 That guy in the blue vest is going way too hard not to mention the age, size and most probably weight differences. I was shocked to see no instructor telling him to calm it down abit.
i know that guy he is a piece of shit for doing that to a small boy like that but he is always like that, if it makes ya feel better my little brother beat the shit out of him there
Where is the safety gear fellas? Get that safety gear on! Never hit your training mates with fury without that head protection and body protection! A terrible bad habit. Trust this old man when I tell you that.
Do you know the story about mikes gym, before every "spparing" you should know that you could be killed. Mike does not love to see his own fighteres from his gym going easy becouse someone will tell ooh he is not good i can beat him, he wants his fighteres to knock out others if can. That are rules of gym, if you dont want that, there are others gym, and yes Mike warns all fighters, he says to everyone to go to begginer group to see how it is
This is hard sparring, very old school but it definitely sorts out the week from the strong. But it seems to be alot of different skill level on the fighters and there is nothing cool about kicking a beginners ass. I would like to see if they are as confident sparring Kyshenko or Melvin hehe.. Pros usually dont train this hard without headgear, very stupid its only training. In thailand this is very disrespectful and if u do that to a fighter like Buakaw or Pajonsuk they will kick u into pieces.
exactly ! mostly persons doesnt understand that, it's same in me gym as in the video. if you feel too hard pressure you just say to your partner to be calm and he must respect you
The guy with the light blue basket ball jersey was a fricken Spartan man.. he has crazy reach I like how he hunts the opponent pushes forward and know how to use his reach, speed and power
this guys are not respecting the right range allways at mediuem to close rang where they are just throwing hard shots without changing any angles this is fun to watch but this is how you get a short career
I think this is probably about 70% sparring and at times maybe a bit more intense.. But I recognise the tall guy with dreads .. I think it's murthel groenhart and he's no joke so they are obviously a advanced class
@@lutherblissett7873 you could say that about EVERY combat sport bud, even if you did play it safe you're still getting minor brain damage each time. every single competitor from any combat sport has had or has brain damage to at least a small degree. have you ever tried to have a conversation with someone who competes regularly? (they're a little slow...)
They should be wearing head gear especially with knees to the face. Opening cuts is very bad sparring and can keep fighters from getting medically cleared to fight. These people are very dumb.
I don't think they know what they are doing. They kick and live their leg fall. They don't have thrusting power. They don't fight intelligent. Intelligent fighting is the key. They strike there here, there is no sign of intelligent fighting. Someone with precision, power, timing and some sense of how the body works.. will win over them no matter ho strong are they.. they don't fight intelligent. They are not pros. They are probably, as what we can see, new, most of them. This is the advertisement of the gym they are doing, to show off. they aren't pro, and no, most of them don't know what they are doing. Sure, they are holding their knee strikes, UUPPS! Sorry, my mistake! I forgot to hold my knee striek 1cm before your head, but i thrusted your head by 5cm! Sorry! I'm not a pro, don't blame me.. I'm a pro after 10 years! Ups sorry that I killed you with my knee strikes, we do it because we believe safety doesn't exist, and it's better to condition your head and penis to take strikes that can kill you, UUPPSSS!
But why do they still produce the best kickboxers.. This is standard at a pro gym in the Netherlands. No country has produced as many k1 champions as the netherlands
Ive heard from a friend who trains over there that they try weed out the weak, the quote he said was No Mercy no retreat, so if you showed mercy you were paired with others. Over there kickboxing is a serious thing I guess.
Ik mis het wel erg voluit sparren, jammer dat ik nu in Frisland woon en niet meer bij Paul pengel meer kan trainen. Als ik dit zie wow dan kriebelt het enorm om wee te gaan vechten
All foreigners going crazy over some hard sparring. This happens every day in Dutch gyms. We spar hard no playing around over here. Seems to have produced allot of good fighters.
This is pro sparring and i respect that. But is this gym also suitable for hobby practitioner? I am interested in light sparring, i don't want to get dropped. Are in Mike's gym also course suitable for me?
Get CTE early just brilliant. Makes sense. Folks full sparring is fine but head shots I repeat will have effects eventually. Everyone in this gym will pay for it trust me. I fight also.
Hard sparring is good. Daley showed respect to Murthel and could've easily got into a slugging match. The sparring was top class to watch but I honestly thought Murthel took it a little too far with people he massively outclassed. Suppose that's what they get from joining a pro session, a wake up call :)
For everyone calling this stupid. There's a reason all the top class dutch fighters are superior to the rest. We dominate this sport and we always will. No pain no gain. It's not about lasting, it's about becoming the best and reach the top.
Lol, because the dutch are doing so well today. Only name I recognize there was Daley and the dude and just got his ass handed by old man Fitch. Turns out having wars in the gym only makes you weaker on fight day...who would've thought?
@@MRJTD99 lol right so therefore you can discredit all the former dutch champions... must have been a fluke all those times. nice rebuttal lol. it's kickboxing, quit being a fucking pussy, you're learning violence ffs. use your head kid smdh
Same gym Bard Hari trains at, so yeah what do you expect? Look at his fight vs Remy Bonjasky in 2008 in case you don't know what I am talking about. Similar thing happened vs Hesdy Gerges in 2010.
That's ridiculous, the young lad at the end sparring the big black guy with dreads twice his size and with way more experience!! Head trauma!! Jesus this is ridiculous! He doesn't have to go that hard on him!
yeah but on the bright side you notice mike walks over to him after he goes down, so I guess it's just this one fighters attitude rather then the gym is like that.
this is stupid sparring, you can see some of the guys throwing 100% power kicks, and without good control. Learn how to throw it fast and controlled instead and you wont get injured.
@@joaquinck5661 not like this in every gymn. Yes, in general sparring is quite hard, but you adapt to your opponent and have respect for each other. You don't learn that much if you are forced in defensive all the time or you cannot train due to an injury. But indeed, I never saw a gym using headgear.
in order to survive in k1 you need to go through this kind of sparring, it test your heart, if you cant handle the sparring no way in hell you can fight
All these people whining about the hard sparring god damn. This is a dutch Kickboxing Gym, over here you are trained to be able to win a fight, learn how to take punches and how to give them. if fighting is not for you dont do it or do some karate or some other fighting sport with less physical contact The dutch are the greatest kickboxing nation in the world, starting with Jan Plas back in the days where the sparring was just as hard as you see over here. If not even harder. my dad trained in the 80's with Rob Kaaman and all the other future legends and those guys where tough! just look up the stats. The dutch are simply the best and most decorated kickboxing nation in the world. and don't start the Thai Bullshit. they fight under different rules and the point system is more focussed towards kicks. at a thai fight you almost never see knockouts. let the pro's train the pro's and shut the hell up.
Is this how people in Netherlands spar? Its pretty different if u look Thai gyms and their sparring. In Thailand it looks more like playing games and having fun.
thailand? you serious bud? they run their kid fighters ragged. no protection, constant fights. it might look more 'good-natured' on the surface, but they're destroying their bodies in the same way. yet no one really wants to judge the thai kickboxing culture... it's all controlled violence anyways. what do you expect?
oh god! there's a huge difference between this and my training back home! I haven't seen an sparring like this... looks more like they are actually fighting! It'snot for me.. but I do like it ;) where this gym located?
dont know if thats a good idea, to the legs is fine but to the body i think no hard knees because i have seen two people break there ribs like that in sparring and these guys can probably hit alot harder than the guys i train with. with shin guards i would say kick hard anywhere but knees elbows and sweeps are when i have had/seen the worst injuries and heels aswell :)
Well I read the comments and I my self is a man of fair sportsmanshit i think he should have helpd him watching how it went at first and that as a older fighter you should treat younger ones better. But I also saw befor he want to take him down i also saw that the younger one conerd the black guy and put him under presure i hope all of you guys commenting against him also saw that. And do any of us know if he went after the session to talk to him about that?
me too ,first time i watched i was like -this is stupid shit, only learn to cover up doing this .But now i think if you know your going hard -give it back hard
+Joel Stone "These guys are fucking idiots, sparring as if they're trying to fucking kill eachother. Fucking up their technique just to hit their opponent hard, disgraceful!" you obviously aren't a fighter.
I know he might be and is and its probably because the kid went too hard out on Murthel and Murthel sort of gave it back, that happens to me alot when the pace of the sparring is too slow. But you can tell everyone is judging Murthel. It wouldve been good if you showed that the kid was going hardout then Murthel did his thing. And that kid looks like a good fighter aswell. I know how the kid feels.
The Kid knew what he signed up for. Sure it looks odd but He can handle him self. He only becomes stronger threw this. Plus he is in an professionel envorinment so dont worry about it. The shit they do in thailand with kids competing is far worse!
