We could tell from watching the show that you must have done so much work to prepare for your time out there. It's really interesting seeing your process in action. That makes sense now why you guys weren't using bows and arrows. We were wondering why it was allowed in season 2 but not season 1. We could tell from the beginning of the show that you would get far. Seems like a lot of it was won or lost before your time out there even began. Putting weight on beforehand was such a clever move as well as researching all of the state regulations to narrow down the location. Well done!

Lot of fun, saw the show and thoroughly enjoyed it, Been to Tasmania many times and yes can be very wet with the cold. Wow. Great challenge.

Congrats to you both!❤ and both to you; My partner and I bought 40+ hectares of Forested land in North West Tassie and I'll be moving down to the land in 2 months(mid winter). Considering the budget, I won't have much more than 10 items and nothing but available wood to keep warm. Your journeys will serve me well. I'll need the lessons 😅

Gday Mike, great job on the show mate very impressive to see your bushcraft skills at work and the preparation you took is off the hook - inspiraitonal. just a couple of quick questions about the casting for the show - how did they prevent cheating (people smuggling beef jerky sewed into their jackets / sleeping bags etc)?! and was anyone allowed on the show that had prescription meds - eg: high blood pressure pills or the like? onya mate, hope you claim the win.

Yes that’s important. I thought long and hard in advance and practiced a range of different set up’s depending on what I’d find out there.

Fat actually doesn't make you fat. This is a misconception. Carbohydrates in excess are going to make you fat.

It takes more than fat to gain weight, You need Fat, Glucose, Sugar, and breads to pore it on. AQ plate of Spaghetti will do you more justice than steak, or pork will. The two combined will benefit 3 fold on weight gain. Starches my friend, think STARCH!!

Watched the first show last night. Oh dear ! What rubbish. It was embarrassing to be an Australian. Will give one more try and hope that was just a one off. I mean, to get everything wet. To not keep some dry tinder. The list goes on of basic things which they didn’t seem to have any idea about.Mike, you have to be odds on to win.

As a person who lives in lutruwita and has been to takayna camping and to protect from logging/mining I was cringing at the lack of skills. Not keeping dry clothes and tinder. Not collecting rainwater. Episode 3 won me back. Give it a go. Mind you that area is an intentionally flooded place hence all the dead trees. The natural forest is stunning.
