It's funny they interviewed Mark Teixeira....he's one of the reasons the Angels have Mike Trout. Teixeira signed with the Yankees, so the Angels got the 1st Round compensation pick which was Mike Trout.
my penis is unbelievable small, but if the Yankees were able to still make a trade for Stanton while also back in 2009 with the 25th pick they’d have to pick trout who wasn’t clear cut star
@@ronaldgarcia552 my penis is unbelievably small, but I have no idea who the yankees would have drafted. But no, seriously. Can the rest of you guys stop showing off. I tried milk and vitamins. But it helped me as much as it helped spud webb :(
@@jeffdaman6969 agree its boring .but this kinda money ... in the early 90's gatorade came out with "be like mike" . its a copy cat effect some young kid will see this and think if i could be like trout lol ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qs2BRSWzrJE.html
zeus44tko2 Same. More money. All guaranteed. Health care for life. Limited damage to your body. Like why tf play football? You know he was good at baseball to be picked 9th overall in the draft.
As Anaheim native born and bred in Anaheim California l have to say this greatest thing to happen to me since attending game 7 of the 2002 world series. I will say it is a real treat and honor to watch Mike Trout play as an Angel at Angel Stadium.
It’s a shame an incredible talent like Mike Trout doesn’t get in the post season so more fans can see his greatness on national television. Angels need to get their act together.
If your a baseball fan you don't need to see him in playoffs to appreciate how good he is and how lucky the Angels are..im a lifelong Yankee fan and ever since he came to the majors i was praying he would jump ship and head east..He's the one player that any team would've broke their bank for.
I gotta say mike trout is 1 player you're genuinely rooting and happy for. That guy plays like there's no tomorrow and hopefully he has more postseason stuff to show us. You gotta love that stuff, congratulations to my favorite player right now
2016 Indians would have gone down as a top-10 all-time team if our team was completely healthy. Defense, baserunning, timely hitting, an untouchable bullpen (before the injuries) and a top-5 all-time starting rotation 1-5 (before injuries) Now the team is slowly fading away and I have to say.. I think in the next few years we lose both Lindor and Ramirez :/
I remember watching him at 19 in the majors, and I knew then he would be great, but I had no idea he was going to be such a great. Kudos Mike trout, goat.
@@jeffdaman6969 Shit don't matter. He's so Great that even not winning a chip will not derail his GOAT status. Hes that Fucken good! This isn't no Robinson cano or alex rodriguez type shitty player we are talking about here.
Albert Pujols had ten strait seasons of 300. AVG, 30+ HR, and 100+ RBIs. Let’s slow down on the best of all time. He also had WS rings, gold gloves, MVPS, and silver slugger awards.
JEFFREY Fell off? He’s averaging 26 HRs, 93 RBIs, and 260 batting average. After having the best ten years to start a career of all time. He’s been hurt several times as well.
@@zeusman65 WAR is a stat dedicated to imaginary players & baserunning isn't important at 1st base. Pujols makes more contact, hits for more power and has a better eye. He's way higher on the all-time list than Trout & both aren't top 15.
He IS a great player, but to say say he had the best first 7 seasons ever is simply BS. Albert Pujols had the best first 7 seasons ever (first 10 actually). Pujols beats him in every offensive stat...by a lot, over the first 7 seasons. HR - Pujols 282, Trout 235. RBI - Pujols 861, Trout 648. Avg - Pujols .331, Trout .309. OPS - Pujols 1.040, Trout 1.004. Runs - Pujols 847, Trout 793. It's amazing how soon commentators forget greatness.
He deserves every penny. I was lucky enough to watch his first few years while I lived in Anaheim and you just knew he'd be great. It's too bad we decided to overpay for Pujols, Wells, and other bs contracts instead of capitalizing on the pitchers available at the time.
Okay one thing before you show up... and this is key! It’s not LA. Never! Ever ever ever! Say it’s LA.. it’s the Angels of Anaheim.. being Anaheim, Orange County, California..
With 120 yeas of baseball ! Coming from a family of baseball historians. If Trout stays good. He will be 6 pts higher then Ruth and will be the best baseball ever!! To play the game. This could happen, it might never win a ring but will still be the best!!! MLB Network going on 18 years
Guy lived up to it his 1st year. Won his 3rd MVP while missing the last month of the season. Angels did good this offseason. Hope for them that it translates to success.
@Eric Jones Mickey was only 2 points from being a career .300 hitter and didn't fall below 300 till halfway through his final season. He didn't play enough to get to 3000 hits
Carlos Rivera Scott Boras is probably crying Bryce Harper is no longer the highest paid player he should be paid the highest because he was rated the better baseball player.
@@kyreebyrd162 why so aggressive BROTHER, Philadelphia got one of the top 3 outfielders in the game, , , that's not enough to get a pennant this year??
@Dharma Ram LA is a big market that allow the Angels to make billion of billion dollar lot of money to keep Mike Trout, But you keep the small maket name won’t make a lot money like LA can’ keep Mike Trout going too the free agent.
Get out of Wilshire District, and see even the rest of the state. Then see another state. Then see another country... hopefully a different continent in your life... Orange County is LA. Same as the valley. Angel stadium is closer to downtown than san pedro is....
I just love how Stephan A Smith accidently said "throw it in the river" and it was about Trout lol. It would seem he could have cleverly thrown some extra bait in there ;)
@John Baha Best player ever through age 26 and that not in the eye of the beholder. It's in the eye of numerous analytics in which you can back test all your favorite good ole day players. Trout better through age 26 than Mickey, Ty, Babe, Hank et al
He hasn't declined yet so no. Nobody's gonna put him over Ruth, Bonds or Pujols & they had time to decline. Everybody doesn't peak & play at the same ages either.
@@cormel6895 Trout is a better baserunner and defender than the 3 you mentioned, although Pujols was a fine first basemen. Ruth played in a different era but was leagues above his contemporaries. Bonds was a HOF before the roids. I think Trout in 5 years is top-3 all-time.
Nan man, Stros got this division wrapped up. better starting pitchers, better pen, better order, and a lot better depth. Angles have better defense and that's all. That being said I hope the Angles eventually can win some titles because Mike Trout needs to be a World Series winner.
Halos aint got shit (sorry angles fans) but they are stuck in a division with the Astros that dominate that division. Along with an A's team that could bring more surprises to us in the future. They arent contenders for a long time. But the thing with the Astros is that while they have a very very talented young core, their core will get expensive down the road and they may have to let guys go. So in the end, the Halos can only be patient and content with that they have.
I have so much respect for how good Steve Smith is at talking about sports. He is just so opinionated about different games that people get money to play, it's amazing
none of these espn announcers are even talking about the winning aspect, trout will prob not even see the playoffs with that contract, oh but at least he got paid lol, they act like trout getting paid is winning the world series or something.
They’ll be a winning team soon enough, but that’s not the point here. The point is, the Angels did not become the team that lost Mike Trout. The greatest player to ever play the game of baseball, is in Anaheim. And for that alone, $430 million is a worthy price. Win or loss, God blessed the Angels
Baseball players should be cheering trout to get as much as possible. Because he is clearly the best player by a wide margin. No body is getting paid more than trout, so he is basically like a de facto salary cap.
@John Baha In so many ways. His stats alone are amazing www.baseball-reference.com/players/t/troutmi01.shtml look at his WAR and compare his WAR to any other star player Trout WAR OPS 2011 0.5 .672 2012 10.5 .963 All star, 2nd in MVP voting, ROY 2013 9.0 .988 All star, 2nd in MVP voting 2014 7.6 .939 All star, MVP 2015 9.4 .991 All star, 2nd in MVP voting 2016 10.5 .991 All star, MVP 2017 6.6 (injuries) 1.071 All star, 4th in MVP voting 2018 10.2 1.088 All star, 2nd in MVP voting Absolutely amazing If you arent into advanced stats here is how trout compares to the all time leaders in every single stat category through 1000 games. www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/23800260/how-mike-trout-stacks-mlb-greats-first-1000-games 1000 games played comparison to the all time leaders: Trout Hits: 1126 Pete Rose hits: 1231 Trout total Bases: 2100 Hank Aaron Total Bases: 2221 Trout HR 224 Barry Bonds HR 172 Trout Runs: 754 Rickey Henderson Runs: 795 Trout Walks: 638 Barry Bonds Walks: 603 Trout total Career WAR: 61.7 Barry Bonds total Career War: 50.0 He is such a well rounded player.
bronx bully no he’s new contract is extending his last contract . The new contract is 360 million . The old contract is 60 more million . So it’s not a new 400 million contract
#1 Jeff Trout, #2 Ichiro, #3 Pete Rose, #4 Mike Trout. T-Bolts rule. Stay healthy. Fast and Pray. Jeff Trout is the only 400 hitter in this group. His secret: he could foul off any pitch.
@@mvpandrew93 he's a regular season player, but for being called the greatest in baseball to only have won the AL West once in the 6 years and got swept by a Wild Card team. shouldnt warrant 430 million over 12 years
@@alexsid0017 Well then the ownership should give back the Billion they are getting from local and national TV contracts since they arent winning correct? By definition (66 career WAR) Trout is not the reason they havent won more. Take any player in the league and replace him with Trout and that team would be better even if they are WS winning team.
So he deserves it. So ya deserve to kiss up his ass for many years. He has a good record but to say he is the greatest of all times. Sports media had disrespected ALL THE GREAT PLAYERS OF THE PAST.
Shabaka Timbuktu this dude is literally the second coming of Ken Griffey jr I don’t really think it’s a reach to say he’ll be one of the greatest to ever do it
all these sports guys where sayin pujols was overpaid when he got his contract and he had 2 rings on his resume and trout cant even get his team to the playoffs !! lol
It isn't wasted money because he fills the seats and merchandising. You are clueless to the business side of Baseball. The increased concessions alone make it worth it.
Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard. This man worked his whole life for this contract, everyone should have that same mindset with whatever they do in life. Be the best you, and then tomorrow be even better. No one's goal should be minimum wage 🤷
Automation, globalization, demise of labor unions and 50% of Americans not having a skill or talent that is in demand in the modern economy. What is your point? Even if the Angels paid Mike Trout minimum wage there would still be 50% of Americans making 30k a year or less.
LOL! There are literally thousands of people on this planet that are better athletes than Tom Brady and Mike Trout. Jesus, I'm just a good for nothing construction worker and I'd be able to beat Brady in a weight lifting competition...and I smoke like a chimney and drink like a fish!!!
TheMoezilla Well you’re obviously a dumbass in case you didn’t know Tom Brady was drafted straight out of high school to play professional MLB baseball I’ve seen this guy catch passes and run for 36 yards I’ve seen this guy punt the ball 40 yards down the field I’ve seen this guy juke out players like Brian Urlacher oh yeah and he’s also pretty good at throwing the ball to in case you didn’t notice And if you honestly think you can lift more weight than a 225 pound 6’4” tall NFL quarterback then you’re probably smoking something you shouldn’t be
