Despite his towering achievements, Mike Tyson humbles himself to adopt a learner's mindset in the presence of Sadhguru. A powerful lesson in humility and continuous growth for us all.
@@milojgreen Look at you, suffering the past, and not only that, not something that happened to you personally or someone close to you, but someone you have absolutely no connection with, other than the internet. This video was made for you, but apparently it just flew through from one ear to another.
Some people are born a bit hysterical, but many peoples minds are formed in environments which heighten these fight or flight survival emotions as part of everyday survival.
@@cifeyThat’s true. And Mike certainly grew up in one of the roughest possible environments in the US, so his fear clearly stems from childhood trauma. But what Sadhguru is saying is that fear is simply in your head (your imagination of a nonexistent future) and because the basis of your fear is not real, you certainly have the ability to control it. But obviously, you have to be mentally strong to overcome it.
Over the years I’ve grown to literally Love Mike Tyson like a brother, solely because of how real and genuinely kind the man truly is. His origins story, upbringing, and fight career obviously make me a fan. But the man is a flesh and blood spirit filled equal, just like the rest of us. Mike, you’re a good man. The world full of people, we got you now. Let go of your fear, Iron Mike!
When he was young and dominating the fight game, he seemed like an animal with not much going on upstairs. Come to find out in his later years that he is actually an incredibly complex and intelligent human being.
@@LeanDadDevelopment amazing how you manage to insult mike and the commenter with a simple "not intellect" comment, right after you dished out a paragraph of praise. Interesting turn of events
And what he means by 'you are not in charge of your experience,' is that you're driven by your thoughts, you don't know the separation between you as the self and your thoughts. Our mind is creating all these stories for us to listen to all day, we are so entertained by them, that we don't even recognize that our suffering is created by it. Love you all ❤
Agreed and realizing and accepting this is so liberating and freeing. Hard part for me is maintaining that awareness everyday, I always slip back into the world and my thoughts.
Absolutely! The mind can be our friend or our greatest enemy. But, I try to allow my mind to operate in my favor, but it powerfully works against me most of the time. But you are absolutely correct!
Mind has for parts. outer circle mind is outward going. The outer mind is the problem, next circle is intellect and it balances the outer mind. Next inner circle is core of the mind called Chitta. There is no thoughts or struggle but only calmness and the last centre is I AM. Ee need to make the two outer circle to look into Chitta. Here one can change their mindset
The most profound and wisest talk I've ever heard. And ive seen the full video years ago and still feel the good chill listening again. I like Tyson's innocent childlike question. Many adults are too afraid to admit those sufferings within themselves.
Yes ... Admitting ur fears publicly is an epitome of bravery according to me. Just my opinion others have different perceptions. Mike T 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Sadhguru 👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
It was actually very brave of Tyson to ask that honest question. The wisdom is; the past is gone and the future doesn't exist. Being happy with the present and looking after our physical, mental and spiritual health is all we need.
We now know that when an unborn baby feels great fear and anxiety from the mother it will be woven into that child’s deepest survival instinct and carried for life
Mike Tyson's journey & his personal exploration as he has aged is something to be applauded. The vast majority of ppl go through a life without truly seeking their potential or any form of understanding.
Fear means you’re suffering from something that does not exist. Man, after going through some anxiety attacks this makes so much more sense. We have to live more in the present and quit worrying about the past or future (the two faculties)
Exactly come on man. That is some generic low resolution analysis right there. Yeah - everyone knows they should be present etc There’s a reason it takes people a lifetime of practice to reach that
Can you see what that quote really means though? It is not the outward form that the experience takes (or how it might appear to others) that matters. But rather how you yourself experience it inwardly. For example, someone might spend all day, every day, simply sat in silent meditation, and be genuinely blissed out by that experience. Whereas an ignorant onlooker might comment, "What a waste of time. What a waste of a life even." But who's experience really matters here? Yours or the onlooker's?
@@shriharihudli control is very bad word for it....cause control come from fear of not control. It is an effort. Its more "let it go", like breath out, relief of every effort, just being... to be being is about to be being XD
The conversation between Mike Tyson and Sadhguru on the topic of fear must have been truly enlightening. Mike Tyson, a legendary boxer known for his physical strength and prowess, showcasing vulnerability by openly discussing his fears with Sadhguru, is a testament to the depth of their dialogue. Sadhguru, a spiritual leader and speaker, has a unique ability to address profound questions with clarity and wisdom. His insights on fear are sure to be thought-provoking and applicable to people from all walks of life.
When I start having thoughts run fast through my head I say two words when I realize it. “Be still”. Be still means stop everything and focus on the present. It means stop worrying and over thinking. Give it a try.
Yeah the world economic forum shill is a mystic😒😒😒. If you ever want to met the greatest teacher of your life then walk up to a mirror and smile. This "wise" man was a vaccine pusher which should tell you his intentions and measure of wisdom
I think what he’s saying is your mind will never not be occupied by thoughts or fears, but once you realise that you can take an outside perspective and fear is just a thought or two.
That’s basically what he is saying. You have to accept uncertainty or the mind will Just come up with more and more reasons forever, once you do that you will get more freedom
@@tylerdavis520 he's not afraid of death. He’s afraid of weakness and compassion. He wasn’t allowed to be weak as a child, also wasn’t shown much compassion - until he met his coach.
When Tyson utters a word the whole room stops ice cold and waits for his last breath to hear what he said. Even if its just YES. Thats a real sign of true power.
After Inner Engineering I am now more Present than living out of imagination or memory which is the basis of fear. Everyone should give Inner Engineering a try and experience this change for themselves.
Mike, one day you will no longer be the baddest bloke on the block, age will have robbed you of your ability, but that's ok, then you will just be living like the rest of us, those of us who have never been superhuman, loss of status is what you fear, let it go my friend. All is vanity and illusion brother except. You were a champion . nothing can take that away from you.

Profound teachings ❤blessed to be in his era ❤ bless me be less sensitive & overcome traumatic memories that impedes my progress & time is running out Sadguru 🙌🏽🙏🌺
Being super sensitive is a blessing. Being open and vulnerable is a strenght. Like kindness, not a weakness, but a strenght. Use them with grace, wish you to heal fast ❤️🧘♂️☀️

The honorable Elder Guru, this was pointed and useful. The more I know myself, the better I may use myself. I will not allow my memories nor my imagination to hinder nor distort my possibilities, my joy or my Upward momentum. Sending love, gratitude and strong faith. All praises, The marathon continues, still we rise🙏🏽🏁🙌🏽👑🙏🏽🏁👑💯💯💯
I find concentration on the present moment helps with me. One other technique is to recognize that you are feeling fear. Then you can analyze whether this feeling is helpful or not. If not discard.🙏
‘Discard’ fear? Omg dude come on man. Totally useless advice to someone who actually fears something ‘I’m scared’ ‘Stop being scared’ ‘Done’ No. It does not work like that.
@@thesampsoninstitute After recognizing and analyzing why you are feeling frightened. You are more able to control it to make more productive choices. Discard was perhaps not a good analogy.
Amazing answer by Sadghuru. Difficult to create the habit of keeping to come back to the seat of experience, but necessary, and once the habit is created it's much easier
Not bro is a Guru in our sanatana we are copying the things what is there but Sadhguru is my favourite Guru 🙏🚩🔱 actually in our sanatana is there thousands of year learning program then also that will not complete.... Sadguru like gurus that one they are spreading.....
Mike is a true warrior. Being humble is a rare gift. The only times in my life when I haven't felt that gnawing inner fear is in times of danger and chaos. That's when the world seems ok and manageable. I know where it comes from (Childhood). I've never been able to completely leave it behind. I imagine it's my own resistance to change. Excellent vid thanks.
We're terrified of being unworthy frauds, demons masquerarding as ignorant humans, or are we angels masquerading as demons where do we draw the line. Are we truly worthy of love, peace, and forgiveness.
So great open, honest, authentic and sharing Mike Tyson was - so complicated, teacherous, self-beloved the answer was! What a shame giving away such great opportunity for a real moment of change! And a machine analogy might be great to reach materialistic mindset but does not change them but only foster this very wrong picture of yourself!
I respect Mike's. Journey to find his inner self. If Mike is afraid we'll I still won't admit to fearing much but I know the fear I do have is a challenge to overcome. Not a presence that can consume me.I tip my hat to both for bringing pride to bare witnesses over the trials of ego
"i testify, at this moment, unto my powerlessness and Thy might, my poverty and Thy wealth" The truest words this materially strong individual has ever heard or could ever mention as basis of measurement of individual strength, material or otherwise! May every strong one "bear" witness!
If I had to guess, Mike is a very emotional individual. I don't say that as a bad thing, it just is. When a person is naturally emotional, they fear others taking advantage of their kindness or even believing a person is weak. But Mike you are not weak and I'm not taking about your boxing ability. Your heart is powerful. Yes there will always be someone who will try you, but just like old age, it is inevitable. There is nothing wrong with who you are intrinsically. Your peace will come once you accept that you are a kind loving person and embrace yourself. Everyone will either have to choose the pain of being themselves or the pain of being someone they aren't. God bless you Mike and I hope you can find tranquility 🙏🏾
