The only reason he managed to do what he did was because he had incredible genetics and found a mentor that was able to hone him into a machine. The crazy thing is that his mentor Cus spent as much time working on Mike's psyche as he did working on Mike's body. Cus used to hypnotize him and give him these talks about how great he was and how he could do anything. A huge part of Mike Tyson's brilliance was his mental game and the reason he was so over the top in his personal life and interviews was because of those vulnerabilities. He was still an insecure, scared child even when he was the heavyweight champion of the world
