A lot of people don't realize this was back when DMX was brand new, fresh and trending! Now it's just cliche and predictable to hear any rap songs, but this was a time when hiphop was seen as 'gangsta' and 'dangerous'!

I remember being so pumped when he came out to this track. “It’s Dark and Hell is Hot” was still fresh and this song was the album intro that had me hyped AF! DMX is one of the very few that can mirror Tyson’s aggressive energy. What a great match!

One of the best rap albums period, and what a lot of people forget is that this was the bad boy era tupac died in 96 biggie died in 97 and it was all Puff Daddy and mace singing upbeat rap songs with shiny suits on and then 1998 comes around. just DMX with this dark gangster shit follows it up the same year in December with something Even harder he killed that whole era of upbeat rap and brought it back to the hood.
Tyson was known for coming out to scary sound effects. Against Spinks he came out to a drone sound and chains clinking. Commentator was prolly going off that not realizing it was a rap song haha
