I'm Polish native I watched all his fights growing up. I think Mike Tyson is the most aggressive, explosive, exiting fighter to wach of our era.. I rather be kicked by a horse than meet with his upper cut or left hook. I love how he use his legs ,all that power .Hands down my favorite heavyweight fighter till this date. He's a Beast! Well deserved Sir. You are a Legend!
I am honestly dumbfounded at how many shots of his some of his opponents were able to take and keep fighting... The fact that some of these fighters were able to go the distance and make it to judges decision after getting hit so many times is absolutely mind boggling
As much as Tyson wanted to drive the nose bone of his opponents thru their skull, at the end he had a humane side to him. One of the most, if not THE most explosive boxer, of all time. Many thanks uploader, great stuff to relive his career which I followed much of as it happened.
Firstly - many thanks for not putting crappy loud music on the video. Tyson in his prime was indeed a legend - humble - ordinary - yet sincere. I don't think he really realised how good he was. I put him on par with Muhammed Ali, Rocky Marciano, and Joe Louis. You can never really compare them - they all had entirely different individual styles - but champions at their sport none the less. Enjoyed the video immensely. Definite thumbs up.
There will never be another Mike tyson. Way way after all of us are long long gone he’ll still be studied and discussed aswell as copied. His legend will never die.
Man, does this bring back memories. When Iron Mike was in his prime, his fights were all must-see events. Watching this I'm reminded of just how HARD that man could hit. I used to think he might actually knock somebody's head clean off one day.
His punches are so tight. I mean the force he must have been able to produce with such a powerfully smooth hook with a snap at the end, its unreal. And he had a basket full of position moves, that are near impossible to duplicate without that speed. followed up with an array of combos, of which my favorite was that body shot and uppercut with the same hand.. amazing how many times he was cashing in on that one.
Way back when in Albany NY at an after hours club called Septembers, I found myself standing right next to Mike Tyson. Respect. Great fighter. Thank You.
I remember Mike Tyson coming on the boxing scene, and it was intimidating. I know Mike has had his many problems, of which he has nobly owned up to; none of the less, that man was a beast, and perhaps he still is. I surely wouldn't want to provoke his inner beast. I think he is a sweetheart in depth, but something much else in the ring.
Fury better than Mike lol. Just ask Holmes. Spinks. Brubeck ect. Punches in bunches that left hook and body shots would take anyone out he don't care how big u are.
I feel just the way you do. No one has ever come close to the power he has. He ever gets tired. He is right on the money with almost every punch. I keep watching his highlights. I just can not believe the power he has. Such a great athlete.
Always good to be reminded of how well schooled and conditioned the young Mike Tyson was. This is pure boxing - combinations with bad intentions. Mike's left hook looking for the kill.
We don't think of Mike Tyson as a great technical boxer, because his physical dominance was so impressive. But to me, his fighting style was beautiful. It was direct and aggressive, but you can not deny that he looked like someone executing a fighting style to near perfection. The bobbing, weaving, compact punches, constantly tucked in chin, hands in front of the face, relentless offense. It was something special.
***** its an art form. Everything is timed and measured. He did not throw haymakers. He threw crisp perfectly timed shots. I can watch him fight all day
It's a shame how Tyson's life got out of control like it did. In 85 when he was starting his rise to the top, he was literally the best boxer in the world. He was explosive, calculating, technical, well trained and disciplined. He got a feel for his opponent very quickly and adjusted his technique and threw his punches accordingly, making quick work of them. He undoubtedly had power in every punch and jab. He combined expertly placed combinations with lighting speed and had the footwork to keep him balanced and rock steady at the same time allowing him to land powerful blow after powerful blow. Early on, he showed great sportsmanship, always helping his opponent back to his feet, and went to a neutral corner as soon as someone went down or the ref stepped in. I think he lost it when things got too much for him after realizing how badly he was being taken advantage of and seems to have lost guidance from people he trusted and depended on. After seeing him go to work in the ring, it's amazing that anyone in their right mind was willing to get in the ring with him. They were either really brave, really stupid, or really overly confident in their ability to not only throw a punch, but to take one!
Well said. When I think of Tysons career I can't help buy feel sad because he didn't live up to his potential and really prove his place amongst the all time greats even though he had the ability. He still had a great career but not on the level of the best of the best. If he had beaten Holyfield that would've gone a long way towards his legacy
One does certainty AGREES...... GO ENJOYING MIKE'S LEGACY.... "ANOTHER HUGE RIGHT HAND" TYSON VS FOREMAN,ALTA MATE HEAVYWEIGHT SHOWDOWN, 2 KILLER'S......GEORGE FOREMAN,ANOTHER KNOCK OUT specialist.......... DON'T YOU AGREES.....
I just heard Tyson's interview on Stern which was great and I had to look up his fights. I had only seen Tyson in his later boxing years, I had no idea that he was this much of an animal. Fantastic video, Legendary boxer thank you.
When I see the terror in Berbick's eyes I have empathy .. and, when I see the path traveled by Myke I am full of admiration and respect. After all, doesn't the great sage say that the most important is the path and not the goal?! .. Much respect Myke...from France
His original father figure Gus Dimado had his hands on Mike when he was a very young man. Gus saw more in the soul of that young man and his influence still rolls in Mike Tyson heart. Mike Tyson represents what Americans are made of. Iron, fire and compassion. Thanks Mike for the memories..
Foreman, ...Frazier,... Ali... Tyson,... Holyfield,...Bowe... Lewis,...Klitschko... Tysons place among these names is not only hard earned and justified but unforgettably welcomed gratefully.
Peak Tyson would have beaten peak anyone. But off peak he had deep weaknesses to character. I think he would admit that himself. The most impressive thing is how Mike has reinvented himself and seems a genuine caring likable guy
Love or hate Tyson, he put bums on seats, filled out pubs in the 80s and bought an exciting KO style that very few heavyweights could ever do, Tyson was something special for boxing A true legend.
Tyson with his head movement, uppercuts, left hooks and short right hands, body punching he was lethal, if he carried on fighting in the same way, he would've been unbeatable but somehow his fighting skills have changed later on. Against Douglas, the referee was taking his time to count when Douglas was knocked out, and saved by the bell, by then Tyson ran out of steam really.
Just look at Tyson's foot-movements to find better angles to deliver the knockout blows. This dude is so underestimated. A majority of boxers don't pivot like this and, stay in one spot throwing punches. A technician, indeed, this Tyson!
I just came across this clip, I'm sitting in my hospital bed at 2am and couldn't sleep now for 2 days and I must say you helped go to sleep at the 2nd of your all time great and well put together video, I want to thank you my brother for a well deserved compliment on your work(FLAWLESS TOUCH)❤👍
Great video, thank you so much for making this, awesome footage, the ear chomp in the Holyfield rematch, and the losses, just great moments to relive. Thank you.
Usually, Mike going into the ring as being shorter than his opponents, he goes to work with that deadly uppercut. That seems to be one of his favorite money punches.
Kudos for an amazing, comprehensive compilation put together artfully! How can you not love and respect Mike Tyson, even with the hyper-aggression and unsportsmanlike behavior in the ring (although it is probably this very aggression which propelled him to the top of the mountain)? Also amazing to see how much Mike evolved as a human being post-boxing.
Unsportsmanlike behavior? You mean like hitting opponents on the hip? Using his elbows or forearms? Using his head? Or at the end of each round trying to get himself in position to throw a shot after the bell rings? And referees consistently let him get away with it. Somehow boxing fans never held that stuff against him.
@@rudimwongozi2169 I watched the whole video. Tyson did have a bad habit of throwing shots after the bell. And the bad thing about it is that he didn't need to do that. He was going to win most of those fights anyway. But I was analyzing the Holyfield fights, and yes I know Tyson lost his mind biting Holyfield's ear, but Holyfield was headbutting the man. I suppose you can call it karma for all of Tyson's shots after the bell though. I don't know if he had a chance against Lewis anyway, but he looked like he took a lot of unnecessary punishment. He looked like he wasn't using that great ability he had to evade punches. I don't think his heart was even in boxing at that point.
O yeah,"swinging an missing Mike Tyson"Tyson v Buster Mathis Junior. Was so so excited when Tyson came out of prison, win's WBCouncil Championship, 3rd com we back fight,4th match win's WBA TITLE ALL WITH IN A YEAR,HIGHLY IMPRESSIVE. TYSON,KID diner mite,.No had EVER done that, not EVER.He should have gone down better than Ali,any day.I know what Ali in all his achieved, specialy against George Foreman for what he could take, remains never EVER,EVER KO'd. Not nearly, that's absolutely incredible, considering some of the greats he at time's PLAYED WITH...
Tyson 84-88 was a beast.....fast ,nasty, aggressive, elusive, powerful and hungry.....at this time in his career he'd have troubled ANY heavyweight in ANY ERA....
all the tall fighters Mike fought they didnt charge in with their heads not like one in 96 when he fought Mike . anyway whats done is done ,Mike youngest heavy champ . Legend period .
Mike Tyson is the greatest boxer that ever stepped in the ring. No one can match his hand speed or his power and also his pin point precision with he throws punches they are rhythm matic and explosive....he the greatest
wow!! watching this video just makes me realize how amazing this fighter was, all champs loose, its part of being a champion, but wow, in his prime, nobody from any era would have beat Tyson, I stand by this statement. thank you so much for this simply amazing video about Mike Tyson....
Bascorasco Definitely not, Tyson was the most aggressive and hard hitting boxer of his time and considering the fact he is high on coke appearently in some of his fights he would pose a very real threat to Ali
cran vine it's easy to look amazing when you are fighting bums and has beens like Tyson did. The second he fought quality opposition he got his ass kicked. Tyson had absolutely no character, psychologically weak, no class, no brains and no heart. Ali would mind fuck him before the fight. Tyson was a bully, he didn't stand for anything and if he fought someone who wasn't afraid of him he crumbled. Tyson is one of the most overrated fighter ever. Ali the great would destroy Tyson in 8.
Bascorasco Whoa whoa whoa, what are you talking about? Absolute madness. Bums and has beens? The competition he fought earlier in his career were far from has beens. He does have an interesting character, in recent years has reflected on his mistakes and showed considerable insight and maturity, is a true boxing historian - his knowledge of the sport is the stuff of legend praised by many iconic boxing historians thanks to Cus D'amato's teaching, he is actually quite intelligent (his break downs and play by plays of his successes and mistakes in earlier fights makes your statement false) and far from a bully. He was a competitive boxer that, yes, used intimidation (isn't the first nor will be the last) to unnerve opponents and lost his way after the death of Cus D'amato. Buster Douglas was a has been that Mike shouldn't have lost to. Mike went astray following Cus' death and allowed bums to beat him by getting involved with the wrong crowds, being manipulated and robbed by Don King. Cus D'amato was the nurturing figure that took a shy kid out of shitty circumstances that would cry when bullies killed his birds, took him in and turned him into a true boxer, but wasn't around to keep him from becoming a monster for a brief period of time. Had Cus D'amato lived longer, many argue Tyson would have held the belt for much longer. Tyson does belong up there as one of the best of all time.. Note "one" of. You like many others took his theatrics too literally, fail to realize this is a man that did his time, made mistakes and has fessed up to it - being more self deprecating and apologetic now upon reflecting on his mistakes as an older wiser individual. The current "Tyson" was always the shy kid always present in the past even during his monster days.. While I agree Ali is great, your attempted takedown of Tyson shows a true lack of respect (dare I say due to ignorance of the man's true history and informed by tabloid theatrics) of the road he walked and how far he's come.
My hero the baddest man on the planet 'nobody can match iron Mike 'I believe he's the best possible boxer ever even Ali nobody even comes close a real killing machine
Mate, I straight up had a fly buzzing around me & when I swooshed it away & looked back up on my 60" screen across the room, I was like, "That's a bigass fly & how the crap did it get over there already?... No, wait What?" Hahahaha
Yeah, his defense and head movement get overlooked quite a bit because his punching power takes center stage. He used to make guys miss a lot and if they got off balance or left their hands down, he was on em.
Great video! Young Mike Tyson is my favorite boxer ever and a huge inspiration to me. Also, thank you to the person who put all the time and effort into making this video :)
