Art isn't about making an image that sends a message, or anything like that, it's about how much effort you put into developing your skills, and how much the pieces mean to you. It's just like playing a guitar. People here watch a video of a guitarist playing Blues music using their skill and knowledge of how to play a guitar the best they can, and end up saying "Blues music comes from the heart, not the skill". Well, it doesn't. Every form of Art is about how much you love what you do
You are one hell of an amazing artist.... If i didnt see you draw that an you just showed the picture i would of thought it was just a photo. You have an amazing talent an show it off well. Thanks for showing what you do.... Im just stunned!
omfg dude mikey u r so talented. never take that for granted. i would kill for a gift like that man... just WOW that was the best 4 minutes of my life.
this is an AMAZING technical drawing...no doubt about it, but thats what photos are for, artists are here to show their interpratation of what they see and all i see here is an accurate drawing of a photo...in fairness a beautifully perfect drawing of a photo.
I love Heroes AND this is one of my favourite songs. This is an /awesome/ drawing! There is nothing bad that I think could be said about this whatsoever.
You could literally tell someone that a high quality camera took the photo, it's so good. They should stuff you inside of camera's. Looks like you're a realist artist.
that 'big chunk of clay looking thing' is probably a kneaded eraser. it works by, in a way, absorbing the graphite particles, and it can last a very long time.
I used to do that on Beale St. for cash based on b/w Polaroids, though I was nowhere near as good. This artist's shading is just about perfect. Well done.
@kettlesarenice its a moldable eraser. Im actually really suprised that people who watch speedpaints sometimes dont know what one is I mean I learned what it was in grade 7 art class. Kneaded erasers come in handy when doing graphite art.
@omgcowshaveudders it is true, but drawing like this also trains your eye and draftsmanship, and the better your ability, the better quality work you can produce yourself :) He probably does lots of his own creations, but drawings of well known people will be found on youtube more.
I was never good at starting from the inside of the face and working outwards I always had to work out and then work my way in XD this is just amazing.
