Mikhail Glinka - Variations on a Theme from Bellini's Opera 'I Capuleti' 

Bellini's opera 'I Capuleti e i Montecchi' is one of many operas based on Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet'. The aria 'L'amo, ah! L'amo, e m'è si cara', from Act I of Bellini's opera, is featured in this set of variations by Glinka. As is typical in Glinka's variations, a dramatic introduction of chords begins the piece, before the theme is stated and followed by several variations.
