I laughed myself to tears when Viktors started bumping it against his face! He's a regular Latvian Mister Rogers! We used a number of these for customer indoor APs when they came out, but stopped because they were lighter than the cables and kept skiing off the countertops!
Never really had a use for mine.. a little big compared to the mAP and mAP lite for travel, and too underwhelming for home use. We could use an updated mAP or mAP lite with more performance for travel.. like, can you make something the size of the mAP with hEX-level performance?
This 100%. mAP or mAP lite for travel = no brainer. but a 10/100 device hasn't been relevant for home use for me in around 20 years. Heck, even a gigabit only device has no relvance anymore.
Perfect item. I can turn on and off my heater at my second apartment 300 kilometers away. When I board the train. I just start the remote outlet and when I arrive. It's cozy as can be. No need for a bigger wifi-router then this.
Actually this toy is still totally usable at really low-demanding households:) Catch OOMs sometimes with routerOS V7, but that can be easily solved by scheduling a reboot every night
Oh no, dont go into plastic toyish imac 2000 design, please. It doesn't add seriousness to the brand. What a design mistake you are making. mAP lite was perfect design for an instance. Partly, my 10+ device collection can be attributed to design. We spend lots of time configuring mikrotiks just to find out it is a toy manufacturer?!
My excuses. The moment I saw colorful plastic, my controller went into kernel panic mode. More whiteness of CCRs and blackness of RB5009 please and thank you.
