Compare this team and it's fight, determination and quality with the current shambles of a team we have - there is no comparison. This team of 96 wipes the floor with them. The Vieri / Amorouso partnership was one of the greatest Juve have ever had, and I will never understand why the club broke that up by selling Vieri to Atletico.

Andrea Politi fu una delle gare più sfortunate di sempre: palo di Zidane, traversa di Vieri, rigore netto negato a Jugovic dopo pochi minuti, Vieri che davanti la porta tira sull’esterno della rete (a inizio partita mi pare)... una gara maledetta, come sempre ci accade nelle finali di Champions.

Baresi aveva già 37 anni, signori, cosa pretendevate? Il Baresi di qualche anno prima a Vieri non gli avrebbe fatto toccar palla, ma quando si arriva calcisticamente ad una certa età bisogna prenderne atto, cosa che molti ex campioni da Buffon a Totti non hanno ancora capito. Eterni bambini che fuori dal rettangolo verde non sanno cosa fare.

@@alessiofe Ti voglio ricordare che Baresi appena l'anno prima vinceva l'ennesimo scudetto da protagonista. Quell'anno non fu solo lui a giocar male ma l'intera squadra ad avere un crollo dovuto a diversi fattori come età avanzata di molti suoi elementi, appagamento, problemi in panchina con l'esonero di Tabarez a cui subentrò un Sacchi ormai scarico, problemi interni dovuti a vecchie ruggini tra l'allenatore ed alcuni elementi, vedi Baggio. La Juventus ha vinto meritatamente, ma contro una squadra con mille problemi e a fine ciclo, si capiva allora e lo si capisce ancor meglio a 23 anni di distanza. Le grandi vittorie della juventus sono altre, qui è stato come infierire su un "pugile" a fine carriera ed è una vittoria che lascia il tempo che trova.

La juve 96-97 è stata la più forte della storia in assoluto. Scudetto vinto abbastanza facilmente, Intercontinentale, Supercoppa europea dominata, vittoria in supercoppa italiana. Peccato per quella finale: Lippi inspiegabilmente non schierò Del Piero dall’inizio, Peruzzi stava con la testa da un’altra parte, due legni e soprattutto due rigori netti negati
