This is a really good album and I'm happy that Mild High Club isn't being stagnant, they are still experimenting with new sounds to incorporate to their current sound. I think Skiptracing was like 70% catchy indie pop melodies and 30% experimentation. This is more like 40% melodies and 60% experimentation, it's definitely getting more instrumental and less formulaic. I think they've graduated to Medium High Club. It's a harder, more challenging listen, but VERY rewarding with subsequent listens. Waving, in particular, is a masterpiece of a song.
Never give up! Every time you feel frustrated remind yourself that feeling only means you're about to figure it out and you'll never have to struggle with that particular thing again. The beginning sucks but the more time you put in the sooner you can jam out to whatever you want. Trust in the process, you got this bro
@@LimewaterMusic Thank you for the encouraging words, I've been learning by myself for the past 2 months with a squier classic vibe telecaster and a boss katana 50, now I've finally found a teacher who's really nice. I can't wait to learn to play better, I'm a big fan of metallica so I'm hoping that maybe in a year I can play most of their songs.
This is psychedelics with jazz and bossa on the next level... thank you Mild!!!, perfect like the other two albums and the album with king gizzard and the lizard wizard...
Este es el primer comentario en Español. Llevaba años esperando un nuevo lanzamiento de esta grandiosa banda,y de verdad superó mis expectativas. Es la primera vez que lo escucho. Saludos desde Tijuana Baja California México
It sounds like a classic pop ballad album from the late 70's, loaded with nostalgia and synthesized sounds. There are songs that seem like the opening of some 80's television shows like who´s the boss.
ITS ALREADY OUT?! Edit: Just finished the album and I must say it’s super different from the both prior album which is amazing to see I really enjoyed the new experimental/bossanova tone they’ve taken with this project my person favorite songs were waving, a new high, and kluges I
You have no idea how long i've been waiting for a new album, i've been listening your stuff since i was 16, glad to see that my favorite band is still holding up after so long!
I must say that as a newish fan of this band (about a year and a half) they have absolutely impressed and inspired me and become one of my most favourite bands ever. Just brilliant music and vibe. Life goal to see them live one day. Love your music MHC! So elegant and cool. Massive respect from Australia! Best album of 2021 (along with Hiatus Kaiyote's).
I just discovered steely dan yesterday and have been a fan of mild high club for about 6 months. This sorta jazz is a guilty pleasure of mine. I flipping love it
that’s what the world needs, some good dreamy music 🥴 it’s finally the return of the best music, colorful, with powerful instruments, crazy trumpets, and the genius of Alex, thank you, we were waiting for that 🥰🥰🥰
The guitar on My Myself and Dollar Hell sounds so much like Masayoshi Takanaka or some guitarist straight out of the 70's japanese funk fusion era ! Love it !
I love this music and yes the Japanese fusion bands from the 70's are great musicians, some of the best musicians I ever heard! Have you checked out "Juice" from Ryo Kawasaki? Really impressive jazz funk fusion from 1976.
@@michaelj.742 yep it's one of my favourite albums from this era with some of Sadao Watanabe / Ryo Fukui / Tatsuro Yamashita / Hiromasa Suzuki / Makoto Matsushita / Jiro Inagaki and obviously the goat Masayoshi Takanaka !
@@pierrebouyer Yes! Masayoshi Takanaka had alot of albums I listened and really liked. My brother lives in Japan,I need to ask him if he can find me some of the 70's jazz fusion stuff I also like some of the 80's metal bands from Japan also.My brother sent me a few CD's of the band Loudness,Akira Takasaki is a really good guitarist.I am sure he was influenced by the music back then too.I love Japanese fusion as well as the American and European bands.
This album is so unique. So much to explore here. Love the Steely Dan and bossa nova vibes on a few of the songs. Can't put it into words how much joy Alex brings me
I can't wait for the credits on this album to come out. I can almost guarantee Kiefer is a guest on a lot of these songs, you can totally hear his vibe
Evidente influencia de Steely Dan con toque de psicodelia. En este disco vuelve a ser notoria la influencia de Steely Dan que Alex ha reconocido. Dionysian State suena parecido al álbum ‘Gaucho’ y a la canción ‘FM (Not static at all)’.
I am in love! As far as percussion and drum kit goes, this is by far your best yet! Still dreamy, yet supercharged and syncopated af. Mild High Club forever!
Latin rythms are just so versatile and beautifull, i just cant get over that bossa vibe, i want a lot more music like this that merges it into something else ! Will have just two albums running for a week now : João Gilberto / Stan Getz and that lastest pearl from Mild High. Alex probably doesnt realise it fully, but he's onto greatness.
@@sirzebra There is a new Stan Getz out? Also Have you heard Los Retros? It's less Latin/bossa feeling genre wise, but he's another pysch jazz rock artist from Stone's Throw. He kicks ass, especially his second album.
@@mattlabron I meant i'm playing both the Getz album and the "new" Mild high. Stan died in 99 so alas it's only the same dead legend i'm still listening to eheh. I've heard of Los Retros, but didnt hear the 2cd album so i'll try it out right now.
WOWWWW I was in Chile when I went to your AMAZING show !!!!! This album is a SPECIAL GIFT !!! LOVE YOU MILD HIGH CLUB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Guys, I don't know if it's just a RU-vid bug or what, but at the end of "I Don't Mind The Wait", around the 17:45 mark you can hear the beginning of "Dawn Patrol" overlapping? I thought it might be a part of the song, but it isn't that way on Apple Music. Any way, love the album, thanks for the extra queso from the nacho bar!
