All members of the band play at their peak. The drummer is on fire. Incredible performance!

Tony Williams did a lot of listening to Jimmy Cobb apparently, Cobb’s authoritative bass/snare; snare/bass comping really seems to foreshadow what Tony expanded on 4-5 years later

I love how the announcer in 1959 said it’s a stereophonic broadcast when the first stereo radio broadcast was in 1961.

Thank you for posting, most likely Kelly, Cobb, Chambers, either Coltrane, or Adderley 👏🏽

Fantastic recording. Starting at 11:44 Wynton appears to quote "Milestones", which fits this swinging rendition of "So What". Great energy from the whole band. Thanks!

Love the Music as always. And the archival pictures. Too bad they're not better quality. Hefner, is somewhat akin to a certain dictator we know of. Sure, the dictotor implemented the Autobahn, but...

So…is this jazz? The announcer wasn’t clear about that.

That intro is great. What band is that?

I've never identified it, it's possible it was a piece recorded especially for the radio show. Maybe other listeners will know better...
