Its so interesting to watch a person in their natural form...free from the normal constraints of being "hireable" . Miles is here just being 200 percent himself completely free from those societal constraints...free to be whatever he wants to be...just a beautiful human-with all his flaws.

It's a profound thought. How would we live if we did not have the background anxiety of destitution and even death hanging over us at all times? Subtle for some of us, and overt for others. It interferes with people, makes them neurotic. It does constant invisible damage to us all. In some ways freedom is more important than happiness.

He had a few health problems...the biggest would be Sickle Cell Anemia. He developed osteoarthritis relatively early which led to a pain pill then full out heroin addiction. Along the way he developed diabetes, had a stroke and continued to battle an on and off again drug addiction. -- He had pneumonia when he died...which could have been a result of the Sickle Cell...stroke, diabetes, addictions or ware on the body from all three. -- Because he died so early...I would say that it was a combination of things. - He did a lot with himself in the short amount of time that he was here.

FranktheTank70 The problems in the poor black communities are causes by what?! Racism. People often times confuse racism with prejudice. Prejudice is hating someone because of their background and skin color. Racism is making sure members of your race, own and control access to hospitals, banks, justice system and so on. A racist can be married to a black person, let's make that clear. But he will not make a black person CEO of his company. A black person cannot be racist because black ppl don't control anything, at least not in America.

Nice, relaxed interview. It seems to show what it was like just having a chat with Miles.

Miles Davis - criminally underapprieciated and misunderstood in the USA

Thelonius Monk sadly true, people hear Miles Davis and they say “who?” It’s all about lil pump in America.

@@Jonnyguitar1877 these kids have no idea and im only 36 and my daddy always made sure i appreciated all genres of music! I love hip hop but miles Davis is one of the forefathers of free spirited musicians! They need to put some RESPEK on miles' name!

Personally, I don't hear Miles Davis and say "Who?". I listen to Miles Davis' music and say "So What?". My father, a jazz trumpeter, respects Miles' art. I just don't care much for it. And I've been exposed to it since I was quite young. One day we went to one of his concerts at the Woodlands Pavilion. His set was supposed to be the main attraction. Basically what we got was 40 minutes of the man sticking a purple trumpet down between his legs while we watched his posterior pointed towards us. I guess he really told us off.

if you really like good music and haven't heard an entire album by the brilliant Mr. Miles Davis, it's because you still haven't discovered what musical art is in its splendor! My opinion without wanting to offend! For me the King was not Elvis Preseley! but the most excellent Mr. Miles Davis.

@@alfredomiranda8654 I read Miles autobiography back in the day, and at that time I didn't appreciate the Classic of Jazz, only smooth Jazz at that time. But after listening to his band in live concert, and the beautiful sound of Time after Time blown by Miles horn, wow he was something special as an artistic director. You gotta listen to " Dunne Mosse" live. That's magical ❤️
