User error was most certainly the issue. Thanks, I'll check it out.

Correct. The jig has to be placed over the corresponding hole then the fence set. This is then transferred to the second piece using the slots to ensure that the placement is the same

@Tom Geist, the funny thing about your comment is that the 4:11 time marker is both relevant on this video and the video you referenced. That's like a one in a zillion coincidence!

Worst part is, I read the thing over and over, even did a test a few days before that. I guess when one gets a wrong idea in their head it is hard to over come. Thank you for watching.

Hey Mike ,the thickness of the board does play a role. I may have not had the jig up against board one perfectly tight thus causing that hole to be off center a bit then carrying over to board two. The only adjustments are how tight the pegs are up against the board, any little bit will move the bushing, and adjusting the fence. I think I just need more practice with the jig and possibly work out a better clamping system. Thank you for watching, if you have any other questions I'll be glad help.

Hi Kenneth, that is the Worx Pegasus. I've had it a few years and it has served me well. Comes with the clamps and clamp dogs.

To the extent of my knowledge, those are for time when the work piece is too small for the jig to catch. You can drill a hole in one piece, insert the dowel center into that hole, and press where it needs to go on the other piece. Essentially a marketing gauge. I don't love how I've explained this so I'll try and make a video response ad well.

I'm not sure, as I haven't tried. I think a dowelmax style may be easier to use for that. Some exist that aren't expensive like a dowelmax.

@@bobbybuildsit Yah thanks. I haven’t seen any other then Dowelmax and that’s too expensive for an occasional user like me.

@@bobbybuildsit I hope you do a video of this. I'd be interested to see a comparison of this with the Milescraft. I had bought the milescraft dowel jig kit for about $20 half a year ago and have not used it yet. Been using pocket holes mostly for joining pieces together. Maybe you recommend something cheaper then dowelmax that's out there for doing 45 degree bevel/miter edge joining.

I was looking for a comment that this might not be the best doweling jig. Seems like it takes a lot more time to accomplish the goal. Saving money is great but not at the expense of being inefficient with your time.
