These Milestars are DOPE! Smooth, quite and very GRIPPY. I'm at 5k and they look like new plus they eat snow and and everything easy.

Great video - I love all the detail you describe regarding what lift, bumpstops, wheel spacers, wheel bs, etc.

As I realize this was posted some time ago, I'm curious if you ended up getting all the issues worked out and if you stayed with 38s.

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for. I have a 2 door jk fully cloaked out with the 3.5 gamechanger. I'm giving this 38 Patagonia a serious inquiry. I'm also already geared for it.

Awesome man! Hopefully I can help you with your decision. So far I pretty much have no regrets. There will definitely be more on these tires to come! What are you running on your Jeep now?

Dylan Conn Nice, how long have you had them? I considered running that tire as well. Considered a 37 again and then was interested in the 39 they have as well.

Whoa sweet look with the 38's! Are you on a stock front axle and if so what upgrades have you made to it to strengthen it up? Thanx! Cheers from Denver CO!

Thanks! Stock axles with new ball joints, new u joints, unit bearings and teraflex front sleeve. Basically just freshened up stock axles atm.

192.00!!??!!??? That's a steal. Discount tire wants 304.00. Wal-Mart by me doesn't have, Amazon 244.00. Could be worse could be better. I just put mine thru a 4000 mile road trip from Chicago to Moab to Sedona to Albuquerque and back. Tires did great on all of it. Not paying attention I was even running over 80mph at times

I saw that deal online, then waited a day to decide and boom- out of stock. Damn it, should've bought them right away.

Have you had any issues with the tire carrier since hanging a 38 on it? I have the smittybilt hd pivot tire carrier and it’s rated for 135 pounds and I want to mount 38s on the spare carrier as well

I haven’t had any issues with the Rugged Ridge carrier and the 38.

Did u have to use wheel spacers?
@JsGarage
@JsGarage 3 года назад
Yes I did. Wheels are 4.5” bs and spacers are 1.25” teraflex. So about 3.25” bs effective.

Did you needed to regear? I live in chicago im not planning to offroad, the nearest place is 3 hours away
@JsGarage
@JsGarage 4 года назад
For this specific 6 spd and Rubicon combo I’d say it’s not immediately important but probably should be done. Even with the good gearing of the 6 speed this pushes what the 3.8 can do on 4.10s IMO. If I drove this vehicle everyday I think I’d want the regear honestly. With the A/C on in 90-100 degree weather she’s not so powerful. Without AC it feels okay. Only reason I haven’t changed yet is I cruise roads here and there and like to hit the trails and the 4:1 lo range makes up for the lack of axle gear when combined with the 6 speed. If you have an auto 3.8 Rubicon I’d never consider this tire size without 5.38 gears. I’d also question the 3.6L and 5 speed auto even with stock 4.10s.

What’s the actual size of those 38s?
@JsGarage
@JsGarage 5 лет назад
I measured 37” exactly and that’s mounted on the Jeep at 28 psi. 36 psi is max cold pressure for this tire. They claim 37.8” which probably isn’t far from the truth at max PSI and without vehicle weight. I’ll take my spare off and check for a future video. I have a picture of my measurement on my instagram @jeramep.

I'm seeing these tires around $345/each at Walmart. Were they really only $200 a year ago??
@JsGarage
@JsGarage 3 года назад
Yea they were a steal a year or so ago. $192 a piece was what I paid. Not sure I could pay $345 for them though. Good tires at a lesser price but with the tread life not on par with big brands I’d have to just go with a 37” big brand. Even when they were $300 they had my attention though. I guess the one thing nice is they have this 38” size you don’t see much of from other brands.
@SublimeHiPpOs
@SublimeHiPpOs 3 года назад
I wonder why they went up so much? Popularity? I was originally planning on 37s, but given the price and relatively low weight of these 38s, I was leaning that way. I also typically only put 3 or 4 thousand miles per year on my Jeep, so tread life isn't a super high priority for me.
@JsGarage
@JsGarage 3 года назад
Popularity could be it as these tires really blew up. The price I got them for I believe was more of a freak thing. Discount Tire sold them for about $300 at the same time I grabbed them. The weight and size was/is appealing to me as well. I don't put many miles on my Jeep either, same or less than you. It's a good tire, especially if you want the more unique 38x13.50 size in a C rating. I still enjoy the ride and performance of my set.

you dont run these tires at a low psi, theyre meant to drive on the center section at a higher psi 36-38. theyre a domed tire.
@JsGarage
@JsGarage 2 месяца назад
Just because lite brite said air them up all the way doesn’t mean that’s how you should run them. You run them at the pressure suitable for the weight of the vehicle using a load/pressure table. They initially went wrong because they used a chaulk method to make the whole surface of the tire contact the road which was too low. Then they came back with saying air them up all the way. Really the ideal result was in between that. A load/pressure table should be used for any vehicle that has a factory tire pressure sticker usually located in the door jam. This helps you calculate the correct pressure for your vehicle.

Pretty content with noise levels. Compared to other bigger brand "mud" tires I have experienced, these are right with the most quiet of their kind.

I disagree with your statement about mud... you dont have the right power torque or gearing for those 38s
@JsGarage
@JsGarage 5 лет назад
More power would certainly be great. I do have long term plans for this vehicle. We just had a great time in the mud this weekend. I’m really more of a trail guy and don’t really go seeking the worst of mud. I have all I need in gearing for trails. More is always nice but I’m not disappointed at this time. Thanks for coming by and sharing your thoughts!

Better than Nitto, LMFAO🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@JsGarage
@JsGarage Год назад
The only thing I said about them being better than Nitto was the on road comfort compared with Trail Grapplers. I’ve had 3 sets of Trail Grapplers on my road vehicles. Especially on my Jeeps, the E load rating and heavy design don’t make for a very good ride relative to other options. Fine tire otherwise. Better in mud than the Milestar. The 40 is a very different tire than their other Trail Grapplers as well.
