Lyrics:
“NO” in my dream
I am making you cry again, I am being blamed
“NO” the hesitation I killed
Is holding its breath and sniffing out lies
Tock-tock… tells me, the reason it’s ok to be here
Won’t disappear even if I stop
After you cry a lot, of course it will end up that way
Choose, how to live your life, we only live once
“Throw down” connecting you with me,
To keep you alive, you are still living
“Throw down” the invitation that I can’t take back,
Lying, replacing with hope
“Throw down” it’s ok, that’s enough
Can’t stay away
Please don’t forgive me
That’s why I want this to end
“Throw down”
After stabbing you with my words, the blood started to flow
And slowly stained my white
Hey, you remember what it feels like?
The feeling to take away in order to give
It becomes more and more diluted, it doesn’t have any flavor even if it’s chewed
If it’s not needed, I’m not interested
Here and there is such a waste
There’s no meaning in it, yes and no, it doesn't matter. It’s all how you say it
“Throw down”, someone’s value
Cannot be the same as another
“Throw down” should choose between superiority or inferiority
Has come true, stabbing the despair to death
There are so many truths, as there are so many lives
The end that has already begun, I will finally be saved once it comes true
Now slowly close your eye, put your regret on display
Wish for being there for someone
With the same expression no matter who comes
I don’t feel scared because I don’t know
“Throw down” ethics is a delusion
I’m still guilty even if the morning comes
“Throw down” emotions with no color
I wonder if I can die with it still left
“Throw down” connecting you with me,
To keep you alive, you are still living
“Throw down” the invitation that I can’t take back,
Lying, replacing with hope
“Throw down” it’s ok, that’s enough
Can’t stay away
Please don’t forgive me
That’s why I want this to end
“Throw down”

I can totally get where people are getting the entire “harvesting organs” theory from, but my only question is, quite simply, “How?” How would that work? Shidou is a medical professional, and he clearly hasn’t lost his mind or anything. The idea of replacing organs simply doesn’t work in my opinion. Also, even if he is there is no way he is smuggling that stuff out of the hospital. My own father is a surgeon, and there is *always* at least one other person in the room at all times during an operation, usually more. My theory is that rather than harvesting organs, Shidou is simply in charge of terminally ill patients, and each time he experiments with different ways to save them, although he eventually has to pull them off of life support, seen in him removing flower heads. The assembling of all the flowers into a human at the end symbolizes him trying to use all of his research to save his wife, and her falling apart shows how despite all of the patients he has had to euthanize, he still hasn’t found a way to cure death. TL;DR Shidou isn’t intentionally killing patients to take organs, he is simply the one who takes care of terminally ill patients and is tasked with taking them off of life support when the time comes. He tries to use his experiences with hundreds of patients to try to save his wife, but is unsuccessful in his efforts to cure Death. After experiencing what it was like to receive the news that he himself often gave, that his loved one wasn’t going to make it, he had an epiphany about how much pain he had caused people, even though that pain wasn’t his fault. He held himself personally accountable for failing to cure Death, and feels immense guilt as a result. If you don’t want to read at all: Shidou isn’t harvesting organs, he just feels guilty for failing to actually save his patients over the years, and the death of his wife pushed him over the edge in terms of guilt.

@user-nz1ve9ge8q
@user-nz1ve9ge8q 3 года назад
I agree with this theory, the guilt that comes with not being able to save someone must be insane. Questioning the value of human life, ethics, and what being a doctor truly means when you have others lives in your hands. Even the oath you have to swear on practicing medicine, to never intentionally take the life or harm your patients. Comparing people to flowers (like a reassurance that all life eventually ends, it’s inevitable). I doubt he’s harvesting organs, that’s incredibly difficult and makes no sense. His guilt is eating him alive.

My father is a pediatric nurse at NIH, specializing in cancer treatment. He has told us how heartbreaking his job is, how his patients are all so young (1-17 years) and many of them don't survive more than a year. This video is so painful, because I realize now just what that daily routine must feel like to him...that even though he's mentioned his work, just how much sadness and regret he must have shielded us from. I think Shidou is innocent, even if he himself believes he is guilty.
@airisnope4665
@airisnope4665 Год назад
But in the integration he said that he killed a lot of people for a selfish reason. And in MV the flower person who died in front of him is apparently very important to him, if the flowers that he cut out or left to wither are the lives of his other patients, then it is clear that he didn't save them, but sacrificed them for this person. Otherwise he'd not cut them and they wouldn't wilt. Also in the Milgram app, Shidou is answering interrogation questions: Is there someone you can confide everything to? "Not anymore" What is allowed to be sacrificed for love? "Everything" I'm not saying that he actually killed his patients and that he cannot be forgiven, but he's not that innocent after all. it's just a couple of facts that don't really fit with your theory and sorry if I sound strange, I use a translator

Flowers in 2:44 to 2:45 is a big clue. Those dead flowers are real flowers exist in the real-life, Bird of Paradise flower, king protea, Moth Orchid and one cannot recognise. Those who are blooming are all 'Frankenstein' flower or you may say fake flower, for example, 'Bird of Paradise flower' in the first pic had the wrong arrangement in color and jagged edge on the sepal, that against the natural form. The second blooming flower might be the combination of king protea and thistle. Those flowers may reveal what Shiduo is doing, putting different organs into different people. Or these pics mean what Shiduo doing eventually are lies since those flowers are fake, imaginary, it is impossible that Shiduo can success.

I feel that this would be a rather straightforward theory per se. Shidou's quote "Not dead yet... Yeah, she's definitely not dead..." indicates that Shidou has someone whom he wants to save. However, they are in a state of being unsavable. (Through legal means?). But even though she is unsavable, Shidou still tries his best to save this person. 1) During the process of trying to save her, it would seem he would purposely fail his surgeries on people in order to save the person he wants to save most. As the flowers in MV depicted would be the process of the surgeries, how he cuts the stems of the flowers and bring the head, this would show the required piece in order to 'save' her. 2) At 2:33 - 2:34, the MV shows many papers and tags lying around the floor. Thanks to my friend who discussed with me on this aspect. I think it is safe to say that those papers are test results to show whether such organs are compatible with the person whom he is trying to save. But, I feel that this isn't the only thing that Shidou would look out for. I think that he would also look out for the state of the patients are in before he decides to take up the job of performing the surgery. Those jobs that he took up, however, were surgeries on unsavable people, even if he were to try his best to save them. While I think is a little far-fetch, it would make sense that at the end of it all, he failed to save the person who he wanted to save. Due to the usage of using organs from the people who are in a state of passing. It would make sense that it would work out like this since a few hints indicated this. "To be deceived or be deceived" a verse in Es's song. This would mean that Shidou has been deceiving the guardians/parents of those who he performed surgery on by giving them false hope that they can be saved. And at the end of it all, led to despair and having the guardians/parents lash out on Shidou. Why didn't he harvest organs from healthy people instead? I don't think this would be plausible as even a doctor, wouldn't go and kill off them just for the organs. It would cause major suspicion among the staff members and would result in his expulsion/resignment. While failing a single surgery won't lead to this, if he were to this continuously, it would mean expulsion. Thus, I think him performing surgeries on the unsavable is more plausible as you are less likely to be blamed by the hospital. You tried to do it but failed in the end. Who can blame your efforts? Surely, the hospital would know that this person is unsavable. 3) At the end of the song, we see the following lyrics: "Throw Down" Ethics are a delusion. I think it means a few things. i) He had ethics and morality, he didn't want to kill perfectly healthy people. However, I think he was fine with ending the suffering of the unsavable as if they lived anyways, they would only suffer. ii) But after failing to save his loved one, he must have believed that the organs failed on her. Thus, he could've thought "Maybe if I had taken the organs from the healthy" things would turn out differently. 4) After coming to realize the failures of his efforts, he grew guilty. He killed all those people, and yet, in the end, all sacrifices were in vain. He came to realize this: "I've finally realized what I have been robbing people of all this time..." This realization would be that he had robbed the guardians/parents of their loved one through deceit after feeling the same thing they experienced.

I think he actually did take healthy patients as another comment pointed out, flowers he cut at the beginning wilted signifying ill patients organs, and later on they didnt which is those who would have survived, and I think the papers are the ones of those he killed instead of tests for compatibility. Additionally I thought ethics are a delusion meant that he no longer cared about what was right or wrong, only about the person.

I’ve been told by a teacher of mine that plants can actually scream when we cut them, we just aren’t developed enough to hear it. That fits shidou’s views and the flowers used in the music video, for as in his vision, the brain dead people he took organs from are “silently screaming for him to stop”. FLOWERS [0:00 - 1:30] [AFTER MV] Flowers: thank you to Puga and Oto in the MILGRAM Stanclub for identifying these! Bird of Paradise: Paradise, freedom, joy. It can also symbolise faithfulness in romantic relationships and optimism. Wilted in the MV, which could suggest the absence of freedom, joy, etc, as well as a lack of faithfulness. Dahlia: Elegance, inner stength, change, creativity, dignity. Alternatively, it can represent betrayal, instability, and dishonesty. It's also notable that in the Victorian era they symbolised a lasting bond/lifelong commitment between two people. Also wilted, which could suggest a lack of inner strength and a failed long-term relationship/committment. ORCHIDS: There's a lot of orchids so I'm going to put their general meanings in here. Orchids are typically used at weddings and funerals and represent love, luxury, beauty and strength, as well as virility in Ancient Greece. They are very much associated with love, and their usage at funerals is often to represent everlasting love for the deceased. They can also be thought to bring good luck and fortune in love. Elleanthus (orchid): It's sort of a purple/pink so: Pink orchids are the 14th wedding anniversary flower and convey pure affection. Purple orchids symbolise respect, and are generally given as a gift to show affection. Egret orchid: Typically white, so they would normally symbolise innocence and purity, as well as elegance and reverence. However, the ones in the video are red, and red orchids typically symbolise fire, romance, desire, and passion. They're very rare in the wild, which is notable as in the tradition of gifting exotic flowers to show love and affection, the rarer the flower, the deeper the affection. Dendrobium: Popular for use in weddings, particularly as corsages or in bridal flower arrangements to show the beauty of the bride. Butterfly orchid: The most famous orchid species, they symbolise elegance, femininity and unity. Cymbidium: Commonly known as a boat orchid, it represents morality and virtue, and in Asia it is an honour/gesture of respect and friendship to give a cymbidium. Wilted: could represent a loss of morality/virtue. -- Masterwort: Also known as astrantia. Can be a romantic flower, referred to in old folk tales as stars that have fallen to earth. Symbolic meaning is a strong, brave protector. Wilted, which could suggest that someone (probably Shidou) has failed in their role of protector. Anthurium + Monstera: Anthurium signifies long lasting love and friendship, and it said to bring luck in your relationship. Known also as a flamingo lily, it's one of the most gifted plants on Valentine's Day due to it's heart shaped leaves and in Ancient Greece the flowers of anthurium were said to be Cupid's arrows. Monstera can represent suffocation, or long life and the honouring of elders. King Protea: Named after the Greek god Poseidon's son Proteus, who would change his appearance to avoid detection. Generally thought to symbolise diversity, daring, transformation, and courage. Calla lily: Symbolism varies by flower colour. However, they're generally used for occasions such as weddings and funerals due to their beauty and are also associated with purity, holiness, faithfulness. The 6th wedding anniversary flower. Dark red symbolises passion and intensity. Although calla lilies are not true lilies, lilies can symbolize that the soul of the departed has received restored innocence after death. Roses: Love, romance, can also be linked to secrecy. Appears on four tarot cards: the fool, the magician, strength, and death. In Greek mythology, roses originated from Adonis. Note: a lot of them have different features like not being fully bloomed, so keep that in mind. I'll update this later

I found it odd how much weight his psyche placed on documents, until I considered organ waiting lists. What if, instead of killing patients for their organs, he systematically removed patients that would have come first in line? He saw how sick she was becoming while waiting, 'withering' away like the roses. Now, instead, it's the other patients who withered.

I really like this theory! Especially when looked at alongside the evidence people give for the "organ harvesting" theory, which I don't really believe (It just seems too outlandish compared to the other prisoners' reasons for being in Milgram). The idea that he's removing patients so his loved one could get treatment first or soonest sounds right, and him calling what he did "selfish" really matches. It also sounds more plausible than the theory that he just feels really guilty for having to take patients off of life support and having to lie to the patients' families (ex: lying that the patient passed peacefully), especially since that theory has been noted to sound too tame for Milgram, like, "why aren't other doctors who feel the same way in Milgram" etc. Either way, I just really like this theory that I kinda wanted to add on to it! (even though I rarely comment/reply to things ;; )

I don't think he's doing something like harvesting multiple organs to save one individual person, or to construct some kind of a frankenstein's monster; I feel like the flower-person is a composite of all the people he wants to believe he saved with his organ transfers, or is a stand-in for any patient he wasn't able to save in spite of it, making the sacrifice a double-loss. I believe Milgram is more about how these characters think and feel about what they did re: "killing someone", which takes on different meanings for different people. They may have killed someone, but it doesn't mean the same as murder, or assassination, or manslaughter. Is it self-incrimination based on a complex of guilt woven over his career, or is this a confession? How much of what you see presented to you is enough to condemn?
@nanaw4725
@nanaw4725 3 года назад
I like this explanation. That's probably why I feel like I shouldn't make such immediate judgement on the characters in the first trial, since there may be more presentations we can gather about them more in the second and third trial.

I don't know why everyone has wild theories, but I think Shidou is literally just suffering from doctor burn out of not being able or even legally not being ALLOWED to save everyone he wants to. Not everyone is cut out to save lives, and not everyone is cut out to literally be the one to pull the plug on someone who does not want to be resuscitated. I would forgive him in a heartbeat, even though he doesn't want to be forgiven.
@ZIxZaven

Because in a way, failure in malpratice through unintentional accidents/or inevitably of death doesn't count as murder. If you were to intentional cause an accident that resulted a murder; then that is a sin.
@exshoujo
@exshoujo 3 года назад
@@ZIxZaven I don't think MILGRAM is solely about murder, though. See Kazui and Yuno, where the first probably caused someone's suicide and the second got an abortion. I don't even think Shidou commit malpractice as a doctor. He was just the one who has to pull the plug, legally, on patients who either wanted to not be resuscitated OR had no chance of survival.
@ZIxZaven
@ZIxZaven 3 года назад
@@exshoujo In the end, everyone has been counted as being done murder. -Yuno has done abortion, which to some to many, isn't murder and its definied loosely, but to others, they see it as sin, as someone who killed a life. (In Law there is something against this. Remember this is Japan) -Kazui is more vague, but as he has said "There are only a few that may call this murder". Kazui's whole facade in lies had led to someone getting killed (He didnt cheat, there are many indication that he didnt). If you turn to look at Futa who flamed someone to death and Mahiru who may or may not poisoned them, the degree of murder for Kazui may seem lesser in terms of weight, byt the weight of the sin is still prevelant. "If I could turn back time and noticed the signs", "If only you could have a change of heart", "I'm just a coward." These are all indications in which he saw the death of someone and he didnt anything about it. He just let tbe person spiral into what caused their death. Emotional neglecience. Now we go to Shidou. If he were to chose to save the inevitable or to be the doctor of mercy and end the suffering of others, the amount if guilt that weigh down on Shidou is lessened. He has the theme "Lies and deception", "I now know what I have been robbing off of these people", "Morality is just a lie", I want the death penalty", these are indications that shows you that it isn't what it seems. Then we alao have major theme "My everything for you - Shidou, My love for your everything - Mahiru) these shows that Shidou even sacrifuced himself and everyone else in order to save a single person, his presumed lover. In his interrogation he answered this to a question that asked "Is there someone who you turn to when you are down?" -He answers "They are not here anymore." As much as I wished that Shidou was a doctor of mercy, the possibility is really unlikely.
@exshoujo
@exshoujo 3 года назад
@@ZIxZaven you are assuming FAR too much. His morality is him having to hide his true feelings in order to be a calm doctor who delivers the news. He wants the death penalty because he's depressed and burned out from being a doctor. He has to lie to people as a doctor and probably say things like, they passed peacefully, etc etc. Doctors, paramedics, and other medical professionals confess that they have done it before because the truth is, dying can be extremely painful and very gruesome and the truth is not what everyone wants to hear. Maybe he did actually commit malpractice on accident and cause someone's death and that was the tipping point, but the whole he's using parts to save a lover etc etc thing is so far fetched when we're looking at it more realistically.

Guys. I think i noticed something. So Shidou's last name is Kirisaki, right? Well, in Japan, they call Jack the Ripper Kirisaki Jack. Who is known about cutting out his victims womb. Well, womb is an organ too, so maybe it could prove the organ harvesting theory... So at first I thought it's more than meets the eye, let's watch this MV again. And I found things that proves me right, and some totally controversial sht. The flowers are obviously metaphors for organs. And there is a scene, where Shidou is eating a pomegranade. I think it has an important message, but i'm not sure what it's all about. Pomegranade is a symbol of a lot of things, such as life, death, fertility, etc. So it's not clear. But in the greek mythology, Hades tricked Persephone, the goddess of innocence, into eating pomegranate seeds, which forced her to retreat to the underworld for winter each year. It can be a metaphore, for Shidou doing the same morally wrong thing, "returns into hell", for that person. And that person is probably his mother, not a partner. I think that because he doesn't seem madly in love like Mahiru. He seems desperate, and has lines in the MV, where it seems like he's thinking about this as something he has to do, like a mission of some kind to save that person. He is forced to do this, but cannot resist, because deep down he loves his mother. 0:13 "I am making you cry again, I'm blamed again." In a healthy relationship it's not supposed to happen. And the other thing... 3:39 You can see one of those dead body name tags. It's written Ru Kirisaki on it. It cannot be a wife, because Shidou is not wearing a ring. Of course you can marry without a ring, but it just won't make sense in this context. It still can be a sister though, but i don't think so. (It also could be a male, because the XY is crossed out, so it could either mean i'ts a male, or it's not. But i won't think so, i kinda feel like it's a motherly figure in his life) And there is another writing there. "Organ: Mugen" (I spent a lot of time decoding that doctor-writing so appreciate it XDD) Mugen means infinite in japanese. So she got an infinite amount of organs. (There is still some writing there but i can't see it well) And the other reason why i think she is his mother, is because she's dying from aging. She's old. This is the only thing, the doctors cannot help with, at least not legally. So Shidou might thought, if he could replace all of her organs, he might save her. There is a lot of withered flowers laying around in the MV. 2:08 These are probably her mother's old organs, because they are all totally dried out, and it can also refer to aging. Soo yeah, that's my theory. Take it or leave it And I would appreciate if you could share your thoughts about it, even if you don't agree

The “kirisaki” in Shiodu’s name is made up of the kanji 桐 and崎 they roughly mean paulownia and premonitory respectively. While the “kirisaki” in kirisaki Jack is spelled 切り裂きジャック. In that name the characters used are roughly cut and slash leading to a meaning of ripper/slasher when put together. As well, Kana characters are used alongside kanji in that name. Normally Japanese names just aren’t written like that. Occasionally Kana alone is used for a name, but never like 切り裂き which uses both and is really is more of a word than a name. It’s a cool theory, but in English his name’s meaning can be somewhat confused due to homophones.
@Kaska_
@Kaska_ 2 года назад
Great theory! There is one thing I want to add: To me, it looks like the writing isn't "Organ: Mugen", it's "Organ: Magen". What's Magen? It's the german word for stomach. At first glance this may be random because: Why german? At second glance it's not THAT random. The japanese health care system was highly influenced by the german health care system and not so many decades ago every japanese doctor had to learn german. There are still a LOT medical german terms that are used in the japanese medical system. And Magen is an organ. So it would make sense. Also, japanese terms are normally written in kanji/hiragana and not in letters. I don't think they would write a japanese word in letters. So there is also the possibility that it's really stomach what's written there. I'm not into medicine, but I made a short research and it seems that it isn't possible to transplant a stomach. It's not something that is done. And at the end, out of all notes, shidou tears the one with the writing "stomach" apart. So maybe it wasn't possible to safe the person because of that? Just my random thoughts on that, it could be a second possibilty besides "Mugen".

This is a small detail and probably something people already noticed, but I still wanted to put this out there! A friend of mine and I were saying that the fluttering "papers" around 2:21 might be toe tags. Toe tags, quite simply, are put on the toes of the deceased as a means of identification. Assuming this is true and following the theory that he harvested organs to save someone he loved, it makes sense for one to show up after the flower person wilted as well. If it was someone he failed to save, it's the physical representation of their death, his murders, and his failures. I'm not entirely sure if him ripping it in half is deeply symbolic or not. It could mean he finally gave up on trying to save them, it could mean he acknowledged his murders as pointless, or it could mean he's trying to deny the reality before him. He seems to hold it like he's praying before he does, like he's begging for the last shred of hope, but that might just be unnecessary analysis. The tag itself also features two very bold sets of letters: XX and XY, and the XY appears to be crossed out. Edit: I saw it pointed out that his Voice Trailer lines could play into this as well: "Not Dead. Yeah, she's definitely not dead" and "I finally understand the value of what I've been robbing people of." Another thing to note is his part in Es's song mentions: To deceive or be deceived To me, this once again really ties into the organ harvesting theory. If he really was lying to himself about being able to save them as the lines suggest, it also explains why he seemingly wasn't scared when he was "pruning" those "flowers". He would have full-heartedly convinced himself that this person could still be kept alive ( also seen in the lyrics: "To keep you alive, you are still living" and "Lying, replacing with hope".) Being someone he loved, he might have felt a sense of righteousness and justification for his behaviors (possibly because it was someone important to him, someone worth saving in comparison to the fleeting flowers he takes from.) Him ripping the tag in half could very well be him finally and fully realizing just what he's done, what he's lost, and what he can never get back. It's that last shred of hope torn away as he is robbed of the very thing he's stolen from countless others. Another detail I noticed as well was around 2:04. This flower person seems to differ in appearance from the one at the end that we see actually standing. Not only are there fewer flowers adorning their frame, but many of the flowers seems to be duller in color at this point, with a few vibrant flowers remaining where the chest might be. This is the only other flower person we also see him interacting with through the mv, and every interaction with them it appears he's pruning flowers off their body (notice as well how they are laying down, inanimate). Compare this to the flower person at the end who is vibrant, full of various flowers that seem teeming with life, and is actually animated. This could easily be the same person, and he's just been replacing various organs over time. Maybe it's the early stages of him building the same person. However, the differing flower placements around the face and chest and they way they seem to parallel each other lead me to assume that they may be two different people. Regardless, I'm definitely curious to see what other theories or details people can craft out the MV!

Adding onto this, the way the flower person falls makes the tag at 3:35 seem like theirs. It really does seem like Shidou failed to save them and they passed. I can't make out the name nor the organ on the tag but XY is crossed out. I don't know if that means the person is XY (male) or XX (female) though. Shidou ripping the tag might just mean he didn't want to admit that person was dead or that he failed yet.
@chocomousse05
@chocomousse05 3 года назад
It’s worth mentioning that on the tag also reads “organs: magen”. ‘Magen’ means stomach in Germanic languages, implying this person donated their stomach. But you can’t do that without dying, right? Which is why I’m led to believe that his ‘murders’ are actually part of his job as a doctor or surgeon. There’s a medical procedure known as organ donation euthanasia (ODE), where the patient (who are eligible for euthanasia) chooses to pass away from their organs (including their heart) being taken out during organ harvesting. It’s a method of euthanasia which respects the patients autonomy and increases the quality of donated organs. It’s known to be legal in countries such as Belgium and The Netherland, both which speak Germanic languages. Although it has gradually been gaining more social approval, one major concern remains is that the procedure places immense emotional burden on the medical professional who performs it. Shidou FEELS like a murderer, despite the medical context and respecting the patient’s choice. He lies to avert himself from his feelings of guilt, but eventually, it becomes too much.

Didn’t see this mentioned in the comments I skimmed through, but the toe tag from the symbolic flower-person on 3:39 seems to read “name: Rei(?) Kirisaki / organ: Magen (Stomach) / (XY is marked, male chromosomes) / (More organs seem to be printed but i dont see any written markings on them)” Not too sure how to read into those details (or if I got the name right since it wasn’t very clearly written), but it’s an intriguing small detail and I’m looking forward to see how details click together in the future!

i'm revisiting this case. i don't think he's actually harvesting organs for someone, because how many fuckin organs does that person need LMAO??? if all of their organs are failing, aren't they already dead?? ???? lol. a delirious, grief-stricken doctor frantically trying to resuscitate his dead lover with patients' mismatched organs is quite a horrific and fun theory, tho. gruesome and depressing, but fun. but realistically, he'd never get away with harvesting numerous organs for a sole patient. and the hospital would definitely notice his patients dropping like flies.

This took a good minute to formulate but here's my hypothesis. Instead of Shidou stealing organs from his other patients, I think he was stealing the life-saving medication. "The feeling to take away in order to give" Since the imagry of the Flower Room lines up with his house/apartment room, thus signifying that this is how Shidou views his pursuit to save this specific person, who he honestly could've unfairly discharged from the hospital in the first place ("Throw down" the invitation I can't take back). There are too many cases of actual doctors and nurses who steal medication from their facilities for their own gain, like to foster a drug addiction. So for Shidou to steal medicine to save someone at his house seems much more likely than straight up organs. Someone counted the number of toe tags at 2:20 and it supposedly totalled to *210* people that he's stolen from, to me it just doesn't seem likely that he would've gotten away with it without getting himself (or even his hospital) sued into oblivion over how many routine surgeries he purposely botched, he never would've had the chance to "accidentally"(?) kill his favorite patient! Plus the same paitent undergoing 210 surgeries from the same doctor seems a bit much for how much time that would take compared to how young he is (29 years old). So stealing medication just makes more sense to me. But obviously, this MV isn't about those 200+ he left for dead, this is about that flower person/favorite patient of his. So I think the flowers represents his attempts to mix and match whatever medication he hoped would improve her condition, like trying to arrange the best possible bouquet for a loved one. This antibiotic, that painkiller, maybe a steroid injection or two, anything to make her feel her bedridden self feel better. With the end result being that without the necessary oversight that being in a hospital would bring, the patient likely overdosed on something or maybe she had a drug allergy, but either way she ended up succumbing to it and possibly died in his arms. Though given how "Please don't forgive me" is enough of a key lyric that even made it into the description, and that his lyric in Undercover asked if we would prefer deceiving someone or being deceived ourselves, I think Shidou is lying to us and himself. I think he lied to his favorite paitent by saying that all these medications were going to save her life ("To keep you alive, you are still living"), when - deep down - he really intended to *mercy kill* her ("That's why I want this to end"). "Stabbing the despair to death" could be taken as Shidou continuing to administer these drugs despite the despair of doing so, because his despair will also be killed with his favorite patient, or so he lied to himself ("Lying, replacing with hope"). Because he sees death in his line of work everyday ("There are so many truths, as there are so many lives"), he's likely grown increasingly disillusioned with the thought that medical science can save anyone ("e t h i c s i s a d e l u s i o n") so he decided to spare the person he loves the pain of having to continue living with her incurable illness ("The end that has already begun, I will finally be saved once it comes true"). "Now slowly close your eyes, put your regrets on display" could have been one of the last things she heard him say (which would be creepy af) but also the spoken line of "With the same expression no matter who comes" could come together to mean that this was he literally instructed her to do before he gave her the last dosage or injection. "I don't feel scared because I don't know" if this would really save her life or mercy kill her?? Then from the shot of his room, there's a glass mirror or vase that he likely shattered in frustration after her death, lamenting his guilt and regretting his actions. He goes reminiscing on what happened and it seemed like the all stolen medication was working as originally intended! Even he's surprised by it (3:15), before having to put on a smile in the face of what he thought was a long fought for accomplishment. But as she keels over the plucked flowers scatter off, it makes me think that her death was a lot more violent than what we're shown (vomitting? Blood?) and he clearly wasn't expecting it either. Upon witnessing that her death wasn't peaceful at all, he comes to quickly and very vehemently regret everything he'd done to get to that point. "Please don't forgive me" is repeated again as we see - from his perspective - a new toe tag belonging to a female (named Rin?). The quick shot of 3:36 could either be the patient's perspective as she dies or that of a witness to the murder, which I find really interesting. Shidou tearing her toe tag apart could explain his quote from the trailer ("Not dead... yeah she's definitely not dead... now I understand what I've been robbing people of") in that he was still in denial over having successfully killed her like he thought he wanted. Also do we really know if Shidou is a surgeon? He could be a General Practitioner or a *Mortician* for all we know. (One more thing: there's a little technical issue I spotted at 3:35. Shidou's hands cut off after a certain point while the floor keeps going. Good luck un-noticing that lol)

claim your “i was here before it premiered 😎” button here edit: imo, i think each flower resembles an organ. in the music video he collects flowers and at the end he seems to combine them all, and it shaped a person. i think that may resemble he’s trying to safe someone by harvesting other people’s organs? (which failed, since it showed the person falling down into pieces) a significant other, perhaps? since he’s linked to Mahiru, and her murder is related to love, i think he’s is too.

okay, i'm a little insane, so here's my essay. sorry in advance, i'm a shidou truther, and he's my favorite. this may be a little jumbled and out of order, but i hope it makes sense. So, really, I think the 'organ harvesting' theory is highly unlikely and... total bullshit. He works in a hospital. How is he going to harvest organs without people being able to OBVIOUSLY TELL WHAT HE’S DOING AT ALL TIMES.... that being said, I think the flower tending symbolism has more to do with him cutting out the bad parts of the flower to keep it alive, that's a common practice in a lot of plants, no? This could closely symbolize surgery, removing a bad part so it can be replaced. I feel like the wilted flowers could symbolize people he did surgery on- tried saving, but unfortunately couldn't do anymore for no matter how much he tried. The coverings may symbolize him finally accepting the end of their lives, but never being able to let go of them even if they're dead, like a reminder that he wasn't able to save them, to nurse them back to health. He always has to deliver the news of their passing with a straight face, and take backlash from families, hence "now slowly close your eyes, but your regret on display, wish for being there for someone, with the same expression no matter who comes". He wants to comfort these people, but he can't truly do so. It's just routine for him, and it makes him feel cold-blooded "it becomes more and more diluted, it doesn't have any flavor even if it's chewed" might suggest that even if he processes death, it might not affect him as much as he thinks it should, considering he's constantly surrounded by grief. In one way, his career gives him purpose, but in another, it makes him feel like he's taking away from people personally, and starts to feel a great deal of guilt for it. Therefore, this causes him to think that it's entirely his fault that he's “killing people”, that these families are mad at him for making them lose a loved one. "I am making you cry again, I'm being blamed," "after stabbing you with my words, the blood started to flow, and slowly stained my white," it got to his head- this is where he truly starts feeling the affect of the words of the families, and is probably why he brings up "his victims and their families" to Es in his drama track, because they were the main reason he felt this way. "Time tells me the reason its ok to be here, it won't stop even if I do," this is a clearer interpretation of one of the lines at the beginning of the song, which shows that he recognizes these things will happen whether or not he's there, but I think his want to help others conflicts with his own mental. "Connecting you with me to keep you alive, you're still living, the invitation I can't take back, lying, replacing with hope," I think this might refer to all of the "it's ok"'s and "you're going to be fine, you have a high chance to live through this surgery" "you're in good hands", reassurances that he gave out that ended up not being true, albeit out of his control. He's connecting with patients to help them cling onto the hope of being alive, and letting them down... once again, wearing his mental down for lying to so many people, for "letting" so many people die. After we see his failed saves, symbolized by the wilted flowers covered at 1:05, he finally starts asking to not be forgiven, like he truly thinks that he's doing something wrong, plagued with the idea of how many people he now considers "killed" and not just had "die under his care". I'm thinking maybe that he "wants it to end" because, cycling back to the "time tells me the reason it's ok to be here, it won't stop even if I do", the only way he can free himself of the guilt of not being able to keep people alive is to die, himself. This also makes sense in context with one of his later lines from trial two, where he says "I said that I wished to not be forgiven. But… because I was forgiven, I was able to save the lives of the other prisoners. That’s the truth. …I can’t ask you to not forgive me anymore. If I’m not alive, then I can’t protect their lives." (when talking about the other prisoners after providing those who were voted guilty medical help) I think silently, by voting him innocent, we've kind of pressured him back into thinking that he needs to be of service to live his life. ... thanks for coming to my tedtalk. that's probably a better essay than i''d've ever written while in school.

I think forgiving him this round was a good choice and I am quite impatient for hearing his second song because this one is quite ambiguous and that created two main theories that I don't really believe. 1. He is harvesting organs(something that would probably need the implication of the mayority of the hospital staff) 2.He just feels guilty because he thinks he could have do better in his work(something that would be quite the strech for MILGRAM(the organization) unless he committed a medical negligent)but I still think this is more appelling. Since he was forgiven the next song will probably try to make us vote otherwise and for that it would have to talk more directly about his "murder"
