Making lemonade for someone only for it to be left as left over in the fridge until it spills because the person you made lemonade for won't acknowledge your effort for them is the perfect analogy of a dying relationship.

This song is either very philosophical and deep. Or about a girl who spilled some lemonade. I love it either way, so many new songs!

What I get from this song is: when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade…but what about when you just seem to be unable to anymore? Ergo, translation: when it gets hard, try to make the best of it. But what if you can’t anymore? When the lemonade spilt into your pillowcase are your tears? When you’ve been told you had a talent for making the best out of a rough situation and then you can’t anymore? When your efforts to trying to do what you used to be capable of falls into the floor? That is my take of it. You used to be able to do something, but something happened and you can’t do it anymore no matter how hard you try. One thing I found fascinating is the detail of the first chorus of “over (over and over). The first over is just the singer’s voice. The (over and over) is robotic-echo-like. It’s as if they are at the forefront of their control or more present. But the second chorus, it switches. The first over is robotic-echo-like and the (over and over) is the regular voice. As if they’re losing it or less present. Eventually their voices smoosh together.

Mili has the best lyrics of any songs I've ever heard, honestly ... I love how all of their lyrics are obviously inspired by a particular meaning, and so there is so much truly felt emotion in it ... however, the meaning itself is not so obvious, and that's the beauty of versatility. Leaving such a gap, the lyrics can be filled in by and touch anyone, without diluting the original meaning. Keep creating Mili, we all love you, you change lives for the better.

I feel like lemonade is a metaphor for her love for someone. She constantly loves this person but they're not present with her all the time. She loves them so much and has so much love to give without that person to receive it.

Lemonade I think is a peice of her life that she never will ever forget. No matter how much she tries to clean it up, it spills over and over...

For me, this song has been my rock for the past couple of months and I go back and listen to when I feel sorrowful and full of anxiety. The repetition of 'over' eased my anxiety and when I engage in the lyrics it reminds me of investments I've made in family and lovers that I ultimately get hurt and no matter how I heal there is still all this worth and energy that I've put into manipulative relationships that have finally used me. The 'you' is social construct of expectations and idealization I have projected into a person to be the person who will respect and love me when in reality I was played the fool out of.

This is one of the reasons I love Mili so much; It expresses a story in a very experimental way, yet it's pleasurable to our ears at the same time.

so... i dont know if im the only one who caught on but... lemonade is most likely love. "grief is when you have too much love and noone to give it too" is a sentence i've heard multiple times and this song really reminds me of that sentiment.
