I live in Vietnam, and they're 95% correct here. Parents really worry about their children's future here. Certainly more than whether they're happy or not. Not all of them, but defo the majority. Moreover, pension plans in Vietnam are atrocious. Vietnam war veterans get 2 million vietnam dong a month ($90 USD), and the majority of them spend that on medicine alone at their age now. So, like China, younger people are burdened with taking care of their parents and grandparents. So long term, you could perhaps say parents worry selfishly because they feel like one day they're gonna have to rely on their kids for support :(
