Not gonna lie, their infantry equipments are better than our Philippines ARMY Infantry. SCAR-L, several APC and IFV, and they even have Vickers MARK 3 for their Main Battle Tank. 🤯😲

Manufacturing is not our strength yet. We are a a net importer, consumption economy. Military technology requires advanced manufacturing in different scientific disciplines in different sectors. We are simply not there yet.

Uhuru had used the military to execute major projects from the many NMS hospitals, parks, streets, walkways, reconnected water connections to estates, KMC, emergency evacuations, etc. When I visited Samburu, KDF was busy in two borehole projects etc. Those are just few of the many ones they do o'wise you can follow their handle for comprehensive literature. I agree with you, but seriously if you watched on 9th May the Russian show of might, those were Old weapons being displayed on World Media but in Ukraine, they're using minimum modern lethal weapons some missing from NATO Rader system 😂😂. I think also our CEO ( at the moment ) would not Display modern Hobbit, Puma etc but they are there in Nyanyuki and Port Ritz and Mariakani to mention a few.

I never knew Kenya had such heavy hardware and artillery. I have always thought that some of the military equipment I see on display here are reserved from superpowers like USA, China, and Russia.

For sure, one particular leader towards the West is watching with a lot of attention probably some are even taking notes about the military hardware on display, Kenya rarely make such a massive display- Just to note this military hardware are just for parade purpose. I just wonder how much money has been used for this military parade. I just hope this will not have adverse effects on some projects in that country, some budgets hopefully won't be chopped off because of this parade. Of course military race among East African states has always been there but passively, this parade will surely act as a catalyst for some countries to carry out a serious audit on their military strength in respect to hardware. I'm sure this was just a tip of the iceberg in terms of the weaponry toted by the kenya defense forces. The KDF even has tactical nuclear missiles for battlefield use. Then the flypast was by a formation of F5E Tigers, what most do not know is that the Kenya Air Force has three squadrons of F15-Eagle fighter Jets besides over 15 Apache longbow combat Helicopters in Air bases all over the country. The F15-Eagles in Hangers deep underground in secret locations snarling and waiting for anyone to bring nyokonyoko. Kenya is not a country to be messed with and the region knows this.

When you see a country show casing it's military's might, 9/10 is that they are sending a message. The question is, who is it that it is sending a message to? and why are they doing so?
Good choices in weapons systems from what I observed. A good balance between mobility and firepower. Propeller and rotor aircraft are particularly good for ground attack and counter-insurgency work, with decent loads and long loitering time.

Very impressive to see this video. Kenya is one of the bedrocks of Eastern Africa defense and this parade reflects a military trying to be adaptable in the 21st Century. To display veteran tanks like the Vickers Mk3 with 105mm main guns to the Nora SP 155mm howitzers along with the reliable British L118 light gun and US made Humvees. This was an impressive display. Other countries with larger armies cannot compare.

If you believe whatever they show you...ask the real service member if they make use of this machines or just showcasing them during public holidays.....As an EX soldier I'm so disappointed seeing my country show case what they have but fail to use the same weapons/machine to go rescue their men. I was deployed in Lamu and that place was shit show.. a lot of my colleagues died not because we couldn't fight back but because air support has never arrived on time to air lift those who were critically injured. Every single time we had contact or ambush we did lost couple men and it was so sad that this men could be living now only if the air support could be getting there on time.
