was that not half a lime instead of lemon? here in the US our lemons are yellow and limes are green. that half you used looked green. lime would give it a different taste than lemon
+Zainab Mohammed Its not actually burned, the sugars in the milk (lactose) and the table sugar (sucrose) are getting caramelized. If you've ever had Doohd mawa or halwa fresh in india it is typically brown, usually the brown color is more uniform and less spotty.
