This video shows the Millbank bag, being used in a more realistic scenario, than my previous video on the subject.
Also a quick luck at my current Trangia cooking setup, with simple pot stand and windshield.

Some neat ideas there Adam... Like the windshield and the potstand, simple but effective (And lightweight). Excelent demo of the Millbank bag too...

Thanks Mick. I've been trying to lighten a lot of my kit for a Dartmoor trip later this year. Might make a quick video of the kit I intend to take, see if anyone has any suggestions of changing/adding things

Sometimes I collect some moss and place it at the dam bit, then collect water just down from there. Perhaps I am being a little fussy but that is what I prefer.

Sounds like a great method. Always best to make water as clean as you can :)

Great vid Adam. Not had to use mine yet. Even when out on a multi-day hike, I usually run into cattle troughs with handy taps on the side, ha. It's always in the pack though. Nice to see it in action! Cheers, Paul.

Thanks Paul. Must say I normally take bottle tap water when I'm out and about, but the Millbank bag is always in my pack, for those odd occasions

Hello Adam,I managed to get 2 of these recently. I haven't tried them out yet but do you think there's any mileage in filling the bottom of the bag with ash from the fire? I like the windshield too, perhaps you could show us all how you put that together? I've managed to destroy 2 of the al. concertina types in 2 years. Thanks for your post. Paul

TheRunereaper I'm not sure about the ash. I see where you're coming from, as charcoal is used in many filters to remove bad taste and odour. It could be worth a try, as long as the ash isn't from burning of toxic woods like yew. Might slow the flow rate down too, giving a similar effect to heavy build up of sediments from regular use. I'll include the windshield in the next video :) Thanks for watching and for the comment Paul. All the best. Adam

It’ll make the water alkaline, not good!
