So effing unique and if her past companies would have appreciated and respected her voice and just let her do her thing on a way that suited her, she would have in her repertory incredible songs with more amazing notes. I’m a couple weeks shy of my 40th bday and yes I was singing it along the whole time. I’m going to be honest I wasn’t a fan of hers I never bought a CD, go to her concerts not even when I won 2/tickets from 92.3 fm aka 98.3 now. But she had catchy songs that I learned and after listening to them no more than 3x. P.S. but I have gained a lot of respect for her on how she overcame everything awful that “the jungle” aka Hollywood as Guns and Roses called it.

I was 8 years old when this song came out and obsessed with Britney. My bedroom walls were covered, every single inch, in Britney posters and magazine clippings. I had the "Barbie" dolls of her, lollipops, stickers, backpack - if they made it with Britney on it, I had it. I remember I had this watch that would play this song and show like a pixel image of the video and it kept going off in class. If I could go back to any time period in my life, it would be the late 90s/early 2000s because it's when I was happiest and just loved all these celebs and music and clothes and it was so fun to be a kid at this time, especially a girl. I miss this voice so much! I started to get off the Britney bandwagon when her voice became different and her entire vibe changed, but this voice right here, her original voice, was so damn good!

That's because Max Martin helped write this song. He's Swedish and English wasn't his first language. The song was supposed to be hit me up baby. Not Hit Me Baby. He didn't realize that.
