thank you so much for that interview. back then, most of Us never seen interviews of Our favorite artists unless you lived in Detroit or Atlanta, NY or LA. even today corporate media is not interested in certain artists. she's brilliant and would have been more successful had she had access to more media outlets and music venues. peace & love
I was in love with Millie Jackson's nastiness. I was only 19 in "79" and kinda shy with men, but she sid what I cudnt say or wudnt say. Just put tht cassette in and heyyy the man got the hint. In 2023 she still feisty and I'm loving this interview. I saw a interview on her Abt a year ago and she was still funny and cud kick her leg over her head. I'm 63 so she's probably over 75. Go Millie go!❤️
Millie was ahead of her time though. From the concept albums to mixing R&B with the raunchiness comedy. She could rock with the best of them. I hope she receives all of her flowers. 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
I watched Millie Jackson live in South Africa in 1980. I am 64 I still play her vinal. I enjoyed this interview. When are you visiting South Africa again.
My mother and God Mother were singing for her at that time 😭 I’ve been trying to find footage if you have or find anything please share❣️I have pictures of them back then but never saw footage I was born in 84 and my mother stopped touring. My God Mother Cindy went on to sing with The Three Degrees from 89-2010.
This is really a great interview. A lot of things she said she wanted to do she’s actually done and his suggestion for her to host a show was actually really wise because she now has a radio show that she hosts that’s successful.
